  • I saw these little light bulb containers at the local hobby shop and thought about how it would be interesting and unconventional it might be to use them as an oil lamp..
    All in all this was a very simple project, other than drilling through the porcelain for the wick.
    Thanks for watching!

      The "Bevrely shears" are spendy, but the off-brand ones like the one I'm using can be had for $100-150, definitely a must if you are going to be doing much sheet metal work.

    Nice. Also, it is strange that I bought the stuff a few days ago to make nearly the same exact thing, but using mason jars. Diresta was a big inspiration for me to start a youtube channel earlier this year too.

      Yeah, Diresta was obviously a big motivator for myself as well. Looks like we're at a similar stage in our UA-cam career. We should keep in touch!

    I have read that a product called "Penetrol" works great for sealing a patina against any further rusting.

      I've heard of it, but I haven't tried it yet.

    Thanks for your vids great... Does the linseed oil smell a bit and be greasy to the touch??

    • @ZHFabrications
      @ZHFabrications  7 років тому

      It does for a day or two then it hardens quite a bit.

    What does the linseed oil do on the sheet? Also, I love your vids. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so I can get back out in the garage and try some wood / metal combo projects.

    • @ZHFabrications
      @ZHFabrications  7 років тому +1

      The linseed oil does a good job of protecting against (further)rust.
      Thank you! Follow me on instagram, and post your projects, I'd like to see them!

    You make great videos and have new interesting ideas! Having said that, your welding drives me crazy! Adjust you machine and hold that damn trigger down! Look up chuckee2009 for some welding tips.

      ...man am I tired of hearing this. I've actually passed all of my MIG & TIG certs--It's called "trigger", "pulse" or "stitch" welding. The penetration isn't as good if your going for structural work, but I find it's easier to control the aesthetics of the weld.
      I hope that doesn't come off as rude, but I must have 3-5 people a week telling me I need to learn how to weld.
