@@moneymike4017 I have ADHD also. Math was never my strong suite, but many of job positions in my area require that you read a tape measure and be accurate with depth perception and use other equipment and such. So I am learning so that I can do it. It's preventing me from moving upward in life and obtaining better employment. But now that I am learning it's helping myself confidence and my ability to know that I can do it.

Thank you Dr. Dixon! That was truly the best explanation of a tape measure ever. I went to Home Depot today and the young lady asked me for my measurements for the project I wanted to do, and I felt bad that I couldn't tell her. So, me being a humble honest man I told her I did not know how to use a tape measurer and she recommended your video on UA-cam! I said I was not going to die and not know how to use a tape measure. So, I came home and in twenty minutes I understood what I had been avoiding for over 35 years! I watched a couple of others that were difficult, disjointed and confusing. I came back and watched yours again and realized I really understood it better because of your break down! Thanx

I’ve never really needed to read a ruler or a tape measure until I started my own digital printable Etsy store. I had no idea what I was doing and was so confused because as an Indian I was taught to measure in the metric system and I cater to mostly an American audience who use the imperial system and it made things so much harder for me to convert the measurements into. But now I can finally say that I am fluent in both.
    Thank you so much.

Extremely useful, of all the video's this was most useful. In short all u need to do ur life more simple is to remember the "golden rule" i.e. "1/16". and go on counting every line like 1/16, 2/16, 3/16, 4/16....... Then use ur math (division) e.g. 2/16 = 1/8'' or 4/16 = 1/4''. Dr. Dixon that was extremely useful.

No doubt, and to avoid confusion with the first foot of the tape that is in 32nds, use the fraction rule to get matching length for 16s,-say something is 4 and 7/16", converted, equals 4 and 14/32". You look on the tape and its exact same length

You just changed my entire life. There isn't thanks enough. So much Love sent to you. Thank you for your sense of understanding that sometimes, we all don't just get it the first time. I'm 38, single mom for 10 years. I regularly say, my Daddy taught me everything except to read a tape measure and tye a knot. That has hindered me so much in my diy home repairs...... But No More THANKS TO YOU. ✌️💜💜💜

You are so easy to understand and your voice is so peaceful. Oh my goodness you are wonderful. I was looking up how to read a measure and started watching a video and the first one was measure without looking like an idiot the guy was an idiot. He sounds like someone that will talk down to someone if you let him get away with it I had to quickly turn when I found you it's a breath of fresh everything.
    Thank you.
