When i think of cheap to keep and reliability i think Mitsubishi. I have a soft spot for these and owned four since 2014. I hand them down to other family members. I'm older and have had many expensive cars but when i take a long road trip i use these because i know they will get me home. I will agree with a few other posters here. The price got too high when they went back to Japan after they left the UAW. Reasons are simple but they are a bit too expensive compared to the competition. Thats said i will buy a 2024 for my road trips. Maintenance is a breeze and unlike my euro cars these vehicles don't require super expensive oil. Quality oil but not expensive oil. A favorite of mine for hilly back roads too.
@@mcclintonauto I absolutely agree with you on Nexen tires...pure junk. I wish Mitsubishi would quit using them. They are worthless in the snow and wear poorly. I enjoy your videos. Many thanks.
@@jamesmaccari9128 Just curious about what tires you prefer. I have made a few videos about the Falken WildPeak AT's I put on my Outlander Sport. They have been awesome.
@@mcclintonauto I have not tried them but would be interested in doing so. I usually stick with Michelin or Continental and once tried the 90k Hankook Kinergy tires and they were great in snow and wear great but the stiffer rubber added much harshness for everyday driving. It was too uncomfortable for long trips. Thanks for the suggestion.
Love the look. But Price should be less. Honda and Toyota are better equipped for the same price or cheaper in some cases. lane centering adaptive cruise. more led in Honda. If Mitsubishi would price lower for what they have. They would sell more.
My mother had a 2013 RVR. Base 5 speed manual. Mitsushitty Brampton tried to railroad her into getting a higher trim with bells and whistles because they were not going to make money off of the base model. She told them out right the cvt was crap and it had no power. She stuck to her guns and they caved to her wishes. It was totalled in December 2019 in a multi car accident. The airbags never went off. I should have pushed hard for an investigation into why they didn’t. It was a crap car, and a crap company always blaming the customer for the problems on the car.
Kevin, we're sorry to hear about your mother's experience and we truly hope she was not injured in the accident. Please note that we are a dealership, and we do not represent MMNA. Further, we are based in the US. You may want to reach out to a Canadian organization regarding this situation.
@@mcclintonauto Her insurance never got to see the car, as the auto shop scooped up the car from the crash scene and would not let her insurance company onto their property. Even going to court to get it released did not help. Two weeks after the accident, they just decided to total the car, list it on the car fax report as destroyed and gave my mother a payout. If they had the car, I would have pushed for them to check the airbags, but since they didn’t, there was no point. She also had to pay out of pocket to have her RVR repainted because mitsushitty Canada calls bubbling paint normal wear and tear. She had to repaint the roof in 2014, the hood in 2015 and the tailgate in 2016. She was well within the paint corrosion warranty period, yet mitsushitty said no. I also had problems with mitsushitty. I had a 2013 cancer gt awc that had a defective suspension from the factory. Every time I took it in, the service department asked me if I had lowered the car as it sat two inches lower and the rear fenders scraped the tires. Every mitsushitty mechanic who looked at the car knew the shocks and springs were bad, yet mitsushitty Canada would not authorize warranty repairs. I could not have anyone in the car because the frame would then scrape the ground. I even had to repaint the car because I scratched the paint with a snow brush. I only had the car a year and a half. 10,000 kms and the car was only worth $15,000. I told the bank what was wrong with the car and since it was a safety issue that mitsushitty refused to fix, I would not touch that car again. I told them to take it back and they can get it fixed because I was not going to pay another cent for it. Never again am I touching a mitsushitty product.
Depends where you are. And what inventory is in your area. Gulf Coast $33K 2022. Most of the dealers that were mainly Mitsubishi didn’t have Outlanders for even a test drive. Good luck!
That's exactly the same one I have except it's 2020 same model same design.I like it so far!
How is mpg?

Glad to hear you're such a fan of Mitsubsubishi. Yes, maintenance and reliability are super affordable.
