    Manze can do no wrong! This is a superb performance and the clarity of the recording is outstanding.

    After all these years still my favorite interpretation of this violin concerto. This weird mixture of personal emotive playing, authentic instruments, not completely without vibrato, but a subtle tasteful use and fast tempi. Not academic nor is it traditional. I like the sound as well, even if it is clearly poorly recorded with the violin too upfront and the orchestra a bit undefined.

    Thanks for posting this wonderful recording, I absolutely love the interpretation, have just been given the Barenreiter edition which has an edited copy by Andrew Manze.
    Please can you tell me who the paintings are by and their titles??

      No sorry...what I sometimes do is making a UA-cam 'film' using Windows Live Moviemaker....very seldom I mention the artist unless it is all Rembrandt or Caravaggio
