the flight attendant speaking at boarding time and just after landing is french. I am french and I know how french people speak english and.... well I think you noticed that. Overall that was a disapointing service from such a classy airline. What did they do ? They completely messed up this flight. Anyway, this is a good video and I will give a thumbs up :)
I just flown British Airways n 747 twice and tbh, was very impressed, they came around and offered water and juice every couple of hours and they do stock up, you just need to ask whether its on the meal service, using the PA or walking upto them, all you have to do is ask and they are happy to help at all times
Wow! Last July I went same airplane as you went. I went to Paris, France with one stop in London from LAX. I had no issue flying economy class. It was wonderful experience for me.
This is very odd. When I flew from San Francisco to London, they gave drinks so frequently! It was almost every hour or 2! I have flown from both LAX and SFO and the service is MUCH better from SFO. They served a water BOTTLE instead of a water CUP, and they served ice cream. This is as of June 2018 so ya.
Yes the service is usually better.. but I can only tell you my experience and on that day it looks like they forgot to load the drinks all together...
They seem to always forget the drinks on the LAX-LHR A380 service.
It should be different. But I’m giving you info from 2018.
I love those planes I have never flown on an Airbus A380 I always wanted to😄
Not serving drinks can be a good way to keep the toilets clean, no liquid to go...
High legacy carrier prices 💸 with cheap Ryanair service... Just a normal day at British airways.

Very nice report thanks! Back in the day on the B747s BA would offer as a food option a very small fillet steak along with red wine! And that was economy. Leg room was very tight though. Now they offer something like a frozen curry snack from ASDA! (I flew the exact same route and pretty much the same departure time.)
I appreciate she’s not the prettiest or most efficient aircraft, but you can’t help but be impressed by the A380. 😍

BA has turned from British Pride into Ryanair in Heathrow nowadays...... the only difference is the nice crews. For long haul, at least you still get the Gin and Tonic, for Short Haul... good luck mate. Sad for the change of aviation, chasing to the bottom
I was meant to fly to Las Vegas with BA and i was looking t#forward to the experience but my flight was delayed due to bad weather and i can't afford to take anymore time off work so i had to just claim on a refund but i'm going to India on the 25th of April flying BA again so this is a good insight to see how British AIrways flight is and so far i'm impressed

I’d thought it was a genuine mistake,of having on drinks onboard,and give an apology,to all passengers-that would’ve changed my perception of British Airways-but sadly,I didn’t hear any apology being given !!
I do hope British Airways,have since,reinstated their proper service ??

I flew BA's A380 a couple of days ago and I was really impressed actually. The IFE was great, meal reasonable for economy, comfortable seats, and the crew were fantastic.
I had similar experience with BA on flight from Muscat, Oman to Heathrow. Even a drinks bought after security were confiscated on another gate security screening right before boarding so we end up with the same amount of water as you did. On the top it was freezing cold on board where even a blanket did not help. Very poor service from BA. Now trying to avoid BA flights at all costs.
BA has got shocking and very tight! Relative's of mine flew Heathrow to Bangkok a while back and said exactly the same. Crew nowhere to be seen and only one drinks round carried out. Annoys me so much as the crew and the respective union will always push for bigger pay increases for the cabin crew for doing less work. Can I get a job please??!!!
A once premium airline, now no better, and in same cases worse than budget airlines!
Sad but true, old carriers just can't keep up with the competitive market
The market trend is to make fares as low as Ryanair and... That's it, customer experience be damned.

@@odeiraoloap I just booked an economy trip LHR to LAX on the A380 in Feb 2020, said to be the cheapest time of year...cost? A little under £700 for ECONOMY!!! and a further £80 to book a preferred seat! There's nothing "economy" with BA these days....except for the almost non-existent service.
Surely you wouldn't personally be too frustrated without any drink services as you said you were aiming to sleep the majority of the flight, still BA should be offering more especially on a west coast transatlantic flight like that.

British Airways under the stewardship of Mr. Cruz has become a third-rate airline no better than many ULCC carriers. No drink service on a ten hour flight is unconscionable. Next time fly Air France as I have done on many transatlantic flights- excellent service and very helpful crew. Cheers.
Always had alcohol served between LA and London with BA. Just a bad flight I think.

small piece of chicken {8.32}.....a lot of rice, not a good option for dinner {it must be more chicken protein food }, rice is cheap

cheap options offer for the long hall flights.. seems to save money...
we have so many other options to fly with better food and better benefits
BA are awful to fly with now. As this was your first long haul with them , you would not know how excellent their service was many years ago. Your video is pretty much the standard with BA now, after the meal service you hardly see the crew, you would have to get up and ask for things these days with BA. But it’s disgraceful on this flight all you got was water and not a single drink of your choice . Won't fly BA long haul anymore Emirates or Singapore Airlines my choice for flying long haul these days
I always buy bottle drink at airport after security check.. put drinks in bag. N drink on plane

Thanks for the report. I can't see any reason to consider BA. Poor legroom, the service is bad and the food doesn't look great either. Can I ask you how tall you are ? I am 1.94 and that seat is no option for me on a 10 hours flight.

The flights back to the UK from the US are always dismal as they are always through the night the cabin crew disappear for hours. It’s exactly the same with Virgin Atlantic.
Virgin do do a Drink Service before the main meal service on the return flights back to the UK. Then the breakfast service before landing. On the way to LA, the day flight over, you get the same but also get ice creams, in the middle of the flight, followed by a hot snack and drinks service. 1.5hrs before landing u are then served a PM Tea Service. So not quite the same as BA - like you state.
I was talking about the return service to the UK from the US which are night flights. The day flights with BA and Virgin are ok but certainly not the same level as service on the night flights back.
@@flyboy747uk The day flights with Virgin are better than BA. The "return flight"... people want to sleep not be offered ice creams, hot snacks in the middle of the flight. However in relation to this clip, and your comment, Virgin do offer a bar service and drinks on the return flights from all US cities back to the UK - something which in this video clip BA dont.

Wow...what disappointment about the service- or lack thereof. That's a long flight ...and it looked like there was very tight space for your feet.

The price was okay as I found a good deal online - BA directly (their website) would have charged me 3x times the price!

No Surprise, surely one of the worst.In many years of flying long haul to the far east my flight from Heathrow to BKK was the worst for comfort and service. On the return flight I refused to board the aircraft to my allocated seat until they changed it to 1 with more leg room.
I've flown with Qatar, EVA, Emirates, Etihad, Air France, Lufthansa and China Airlines and the one that sticks in my throat because it ruined an otherwise perfect holiday was British Airways. Thanks B.A.

I last flew British Airways,out to Los Angeles,from London Heathrow back in 1996,the service I received,was miles better,than what I have seen on this very video !!
Recently had to fly out to Los Angeles,again,and this VERY VIDEO,put me off using British Airways-I flew Virgin Atlantic instead,whose on-board economy service,literally knocks spots off British Airways !!
British Airways-you really need to get back to the service you used to be !!
Boy those 380's really have unbelievable acceleration. Like someone UNFORTUNATELY artificially speed up the video at the most exciting part of the flight. I stopped watching after that.

@@PlaneSpottingBerlin I'm sure the flight crew would have been more than happy to offer you water or a beverage if you had asked. If you want to be pampered round the clock then economy is not for you.
No way? I know the drill very well from my 300+ flights. But it doesn't change the fact that they forgot to load drinks in Los Angeles and therefore none were offered!
I am not saying all BA flights are like this but mine sadly was. Also the hard product is below average when I compare to my other long haul experiences.
