- Lots going on at the homestead right now. We had a late harvest season, and are just now harvesting and canning food for winter. Our garden soil set up like concrete, so I had to rig up a way to bust our potatoes out of the earth. It worked, and we had another nice pile of spuds for the pantry.

Really enjoy seeing your little slice of Heaven there- such a beautiful property! Great haul of Potatoes- can taste them now, frying up with onions, doesn’t get much better! Take care, enjoy these wonderful Autumn days.
Howdy. Yes, it is nice this time of year. We had baked potatoes for dinner, and they were really good! Thanks for watching, and I hope you are having a great Autumn as well.
Always a pleasure to visit you and enjoy seeing the adventures of Life at the West fork Homestead! The new potato digger worked well...and 230# of spuds should definitely hold ya for another year!
The place looks great. Thanks for sharing this video Kevin...inspiring stuff!. 👍🌲
Howdy Pine. Yeah, that spud digger saved my bacon this year. Next year I might get a middle buster plow, which doesn't cost that much. It would be closer to the rear end and easier to control. But the setup worked great in a pinch. Had spuds for supper. 1 lb. down & 229 to go! Hope everything is going great out on your homestead, my friend.
Always love your videos, Kevin. Hi to Sarah!!
Hi Andrea. I hope you are doing good and having a great fall!
Really enjoy watching the homestead videos. 😌
Thank you for watching. I hope you are having a great weekend!
It’s that time of year, I really don’t miss putting up wood for the winter and am especially glad I’m not burning wood this year as I have torn my left rotator cuff and it would be tough dealing with wood this fall / winter. That makeshift spud digger worked like a charm great yield You had an awesome harvest and are stocked up well for whatever happens this November. Thanks for the tour and take care Kevin. ✌️
Howdy, Don! I'm still a sucker for wood cutting, and Sarah still likes to lumberjack with me. I think it's just being out in the woods and enjoying nature - and warming out old bones in the winter that keeps us going. Sure sorry to hear about your cuff, and hope you can get that fixed before next fishing season. That's crippling, man, and I sure feel for ya. Peace, my friend.
i got all my potatoes saturday they will be good this winter how is the wildlife hatchet holding up
@@ronniealley5136 How ya doing! The wildlife hatchet is doing great. It will help me out with the next video. My favorite hatchet! 🪓 🪓 🪓
Very clever tater gitter. Good haul. Do you store them in boxes like that? Mighty pretty time of year.
Howdy Mo! Yeah my rig sure helped a lot. I was pretty desperate with the hard soil. We store the spuds in the pantry in those boxes, and they keep until mid-May when it gets too warm. Yeah, the trees are coloring up already. Sure could use some rain, so we could enjoy a campfire. Thanks for tuning in, brother. I hope you are having a great fall.
Great potato harvest in the hard ground.
@@blampinen5878 We should survive now. But we still got beets to put up!
