I loooove big old trees of any kind. But there’s something magical about redwoods. Makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, with all those ferns at their feet which are really old species themselves. Thank you for taking the time to share that with us!
We haven't been to the redwoods in years. Now we're planning a trip! Thanks John!!!
Leave only footprints, take only memories 👍 beautiful and majestic giants
My neck of the woods. A truly magical experience!!
absolutely beautiful forest
Absolutely breathtaking shots.
I made that exact trip in 2000 but on a motorcycle and yes pictures can not capture it correctly. I expected to see a unicorn run across the winding road it was so magical. LOL
Those massive giant Redwood trees were a wonderful experience even on my 4K screen, and I thank you John. 😄
I don’t remember as much undergrowth as in your video! I remember how quiet it was with only the sound of wind moving through the trees!
My parents bought a Datsun station wagon and dad got to drive through a redwood, I heard the tree had fallen!
Was a wonderful time with the parents!
Beautiful surroundings, interesting vehicle! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow would love to see them one day
Thanks for taking us along John, those old redwoods are really impressive!
I remember going out to visit my brother in California a couple of times, once it was just the two of us and the second time years later it was with my wife, his wife and daughter and both times we went to see big trees state park, I remember seeing what looked like a tree that had fallen but we couldn't find a stump anywhere, finally with the help of a zoom lens I found where the "tree" had come from, up near the top of a nearby tree, unbelievable! I am 6 foot tall and my brother is 6'2" and we found an old log on the ground that was pretty much nothing but the outer shell left, we walked from one end to the other and most of the way we didn't even have to stoop any, it even had portholes along the way, they were where the limbs had rotted off. We even got to walk inside one that had been burned and hollowed out by fire but was still standing. We saw a stump where they used to hold square dances and they had built a two lane bowling alley on the actual tree, back about the turn of the century when they found those trees. I remember as we were getting into some pine trees my wife said something about how big they were, Steve and I looked at her and said " what, these little pine trees?" We could tell she didn't believe anything could make those pines look small, until she saw the first sequoia, made those pines look like limbs, needless to say her jaw dropped and I thought her eyes were going to pop out of her head! Some truly amazing sights.
Thanks for the video John, really brings back a lot of good memories.
I was just there last fall. Beautiful and awe inspiring. Worth the trip from PA just to see these trees.
Cheers!

Thank you John. I hope to see them in person one day
Thanks for sharing your trip John, enjoyed the journey to somewhere I will never see in person.
Thanks John. It's is impressive size of these redwood trees, which gives an incredible respect for the nature. Even the biggest trees we have in the woods here in Norway are looking like small Christmas trees for the table compared with these giants. I had a few years as a logger from I was 16. This was a tough job but you felt like part of nature, and it's the nicest job I ever had. Thanks for your interesting review. Best Regards Arne G from Norway
I wanted to visit that area on my last trip out there , however time did not allow us to . Thanks for sharing Mr Switzer . It's amazing how large those trees are
thanks john for shareing!
Really cool
that was interesting
I camped there for a couple days this last November
Great travel video, I've seen them giants
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video John, thank you for the time it took to get the footage and edit it.
Glad you enjoyed it
I kind of would like to see parts of California but prices of things out there scare me lol
From weed to susanville to Reno is a pretty part of GODS work
Very interesting. How old are those giants?
some are 2,000 to 3,000 years old
I made this trip years ago when I worked as a NASA contractor in Alabama. Father flew over from the UK & we camped with a tent on a great trek up through California to see these giants, driving through one red wood that acted as a natural tunnel. The size & scale is majestic: Largest living things on the planet, the red woods taller than the sequoia but the sequoia are wider, many named after Union Civil War officers. I have raised a few from seed in the UK with often only a few emerging from a packet of seeds. I brought a sequoia seedling into my tunnel greenhouse to overwinter this year & a mouse bit it off at ground level! I was vexed as it came through its first winter outside & would likely have been fine had I left it. Such happy memories returned as I watched your video. Thank you for sharing!
Truely Beautiful John , Don't know if we have red wood trees in Australia I'll have to find out . 😲👍🌳🤠
