/* ---- VIDEO INFORMATION ---- */
Alright so with news that Kevin Fiege is resurrecting Wolverine. Get him off that log. That means Hugh Jackman is coming back to dawn the claws once again in the upcoming Marvel Studios Deadpool 3: Wolverine and Deadpool do Disney World. It’s a working title right now.
But we thought what better time than now to revisit Logan, and do a deep dive, pointing out all of the easter eggs, hidden details, comic callbacks, amongst other things. Obviously this video will contain heavy spoilers Bub, so if you haven't had the chance to check it out, then I don’t know what you’ve been going, but highly recommend you check out now. If you enjoy this video, we’d really appreciate a thumbs up, and don't forget to subscribe for videos like this everyday.
With that out of the way, welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I’m your host Jared, now let's get into Logan.
So Logan opens with a disheveled Wolverine in the back of a limo, with some hombres trying to steal his chromed out rims. Instantly he is shot, falling to the ground, and the title “Logan” appears on screen. Simply calling it Logan and seeing this unstoppable force be put on his back in the first 2 minutes metaphorically tells us, this ain't your daddy’s X-Men movie.
Now I’m sure you know this already, but Logan is loosely…. Like loosely, like they took the idea and threw the rest out because of legal rights mumbo jumbo, based on the Old Man Logan comic. In this comic, Logan is much older, dealing with the guilt and grief of being one of the last surviving X-Men. The reason so, is because he accidentally killed all of them. Yeah, Taco Tuesday will never be the same.
Instead, Mysterio tricked the ole’ beast, making it look like the X Mansion was being attacked by a whole gaggle of villains, only for it to be revealed that it was in fact the X-Men heroes he had slaughtered. This then drove him on a solo, grisled roadtrip storyline. He is also slowly losing his powers because of this guilt. Logan features something similar with Adamantium poisoning, his healing powers taking a bit longer than usual, and one of his claws just doesn’t perform like it used to. - Розваги
Huge thank you to Jared for jumping on this breakdown
When you gonna to do the Wizard of Oz?
Boo
Are you serious?? Wtf No one subscribed to Jared's channel!!
Jared from insomniacs Spider-Man I presume 🤨
Loved Logan! Can't wait to see him again!
This was the last movie I saw with my dad before he died and yesterday was his birthday I needed this breakdown thank you Paul and Jared 🤘🏾🤙🏾🙏🏾
Ey sorry to hear that mate, hopefully this video brings back some happy memories
It does brother I appreciate you can literally hear him screaming in laughter during the chase scene thru the woods dude with electric powers was preping for a marathon 🤣🤣🤣
So sorry for your loss and a happy heavenly birthday to your dad
Thank you Keith 🙏🏾
Bless, I just bought it for my Dad he has Disney+ but unless I buy it physically he will never watch it.
Before the world cried for IRON MAN
We cried for WOLVERINE
Logan starting scene with the limo set the stage for the rest of the movie, loved it!!
I cried heavily after this movie and I still get my heart racing when i rewatch it
At the END of this movie, everyone in the theatre I was at (it was packed on a Saturday evening in its 2nd weekend) had been sniffling through mostly silent tears, and after a few moments of stunned silence before the credits, stood up and exited slowly and it was like EVERYONE was in mourning! I've only ever seen/heard this at one other movie which was The Passion of the Christ, when I attended that with a very big church group. NOT KIDDING! As a fan of The Xmen and Wolverine comics as a young tween, I and I'm assuming everyone else at the showing I went to were VERY affected by this movie!
Were you psyched for his return?
@@shumayelkhan8154 Yes, although I would have stayed pleased with his ending. Logan, I mean. My views on the other will remain my own.
We been riding with Wolverine since 2000, it was a beautiful ending and I legit thought that would be the last time seeing him as Wolverine.
Well, some people seem to like suffer porn...
I agree, Logan was definitely the best super hero movie in the last ten years. Your analysis showed all the care they took with creating and casting it.
You’ll probably hate learning Wade Wilson is Canadian too. Which also makes them both some of the best mutants ever.
i 100% agree.
I loved this movie (still do, because it's a rewatchable one), and missed like 90% of what you revealed in the easter eggs, so thank you. Now I need to rewatch it soon and I'm anticipating DP3 even more. Great job on the vid!!!
Hugh Jackman said when he was watching Deadpool for the first time he had the idea to do a buddy comedy with Ryan Reynolds- like wolverine and Deadpool with a 48 Hrs vibe.
It looks like we are getting that 48 Hours Dead Pool and Wolverine movie soon
I for one will love it.
That scene in the hotel was amazing.
I kinda think Logan is one of comic book movies that transcends the genre. It’s a beautiful film all around.
Agree with you. It's the best one I've seen.
I loved Logan, unfortunately, one of my good friends has terrible taste in movies and shows. How you ask? He thought Logan sucked and She Hulk was pretty good. Don't worry, I got him a helmet for his birthday.
One of my top 3 favorite Marvel movies of all time🔥
Seriously one of the best movies from that year and one of the best super hero movies of all time. My daughter was very young at the time and the ending between Logan and x23 tore my heart out. Seriously an outstanding movie.
I hate how I've always thought the only thing Logan is missing is Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed, and they actually had him planned... That's heartbreaking!
That mr krabs clip was fucking gold
To me Logan’s death was always more saddening and had more of an effect on me then tony starks. So glad that he’s making a return in Deadpool.
When Logan screamed during his rampage I got chills
The adamantium bullet did not PIERCE his skull, it can only ricochet. The female Dr. in the scene before even says "that won't kill him".
Love Logan. Great breakdown 👍🏼
By far, this was the best X-Men movie.
@@mccleandazza4618 go read a comic book
Wow!! Great breakdown!! Than you..
This movie in black and white version hits different. Much grittier feel.
Superb breakdown! This film is an utter masterpiece and deserves revisiting on multiple occasions. Cheers Jared!
Such a great movie!! You are on a roll lately! Keep up the great work
ey much appreciated
Love the channel, Love From México Heavy
Thank you mate.
Huge props for the Powder reference!! I have always loved that movie so much. And very recently showed a friend and even after all these years, funny how you can watch something you've seen so many times and still get a new take away, but it was the first time I saw it as a good hero comic origin story. Much so like Brightburn did for a villain origin story.
Logan kept the bullet so he could fire it into his head like Stryker did. He wanted to screw up his memory so he would forget what he did to the X-MEN. It says so in the graphic novels.
Thank you for this video.
Awesome thanks
How'd you know I watched this again last night? Anyway, robot hand dude says it's only a flesh wound to Rictor towards the end.
Thanks for the info
I love what you did of top
Awesoome Stuff!!
Great video.
Didn’t realize there are so many mistakes.
Superb entry.
Superb breakdown.
This video honestly couldn’t have been more convenient rn, bc I just watched this movie for the first time last night, and this just popped up on my feed..
The only super hero movie that made me cry like a baby. This movie is a masterpiece.
Yoo great job
Omg perfect total recall reference. Lifetime sub.
My head canon for that scene was always that because Logan and Caliban kept him so far away from other people, he could telepathically hear radio waves and the taco bell ad was a commercial lol
Logan is one of those movies that u watch once. It’s so good but it hits the heart strings really well. I’m old enough to have seen all X-Men movies and OG cartoons. I cried when he died. My wife laughed but I explained it’s basically a story of the death of my childhood. As I watched it I had memories of being a kid watching cartoons after school and then teenager going to the movies to see the first X-Men movie and so on. Watching as a father I connected to Logan through my daughter. Great movie but one that I could only watch once.
I liked with Prof X tells her to use a fork. Just like how she has to learn to use her claws. She eats with the fork like they are her hands. Unlike us using a fork as a utensil. She puts the food in her mouth either it and then turns the fork to push the piece in her mouth. Like the fork is a little hand for her. Attention to detail is good in this movie.
There is a loose reference to the first X-Men when Rouge asks Logan if it hurts when the claws come out…and him wincing at the claw as he pulls it to be fully extended.
LETS GO JARED
I loved Logan! It’s awesome! 😍 such a moving film and a great end - however I love Hugh Hackman’s take and can’t wait to see him again!
Logan is one of thoes comic book films that is just a joy to watch with its heartpumping action scenes and its heartbreaking ending its just the best of the Wolverine trilogy by miles.
I can see Hugh being made to ware thee yellow suite and with Ryan's Deadpool taking the upper piss out of him.
Jared this was brilliant..
Shiiiiiiii.... New Mutants blew Dark Phoenix outta the water. Much better movie.
❤ cool video
Nicee🔥👍🏻😁
I’ve never noticed that Liberty motel part there. I always thought it was just a random rambling call out or showing that Xavier was just confused. I mean it still shows he is confused and not all there but it’s so much better now. Thanks for that.
Lmao what
@@MrSwccguy when Xavier is saying that he’s talking to a new mutant and that she is waiting at the Statue of Liberty. I never caught the motel was the Liberty motel. I always thought (like Logan) that it was just pointless rambling. But now I realize that Xavier was rambling a bit since it wasn’t the Statue of Liberty but it also shows he wasn’t as far gone as Logan originally thought.
@@thomasleonardis711 yes logan literally says that was a long time ago Charles, and it shows the motel
@@MrSwccguy somehow I missed it. Or just forgot that scene somehow. I remember him saying it was a long time ago. Just not the name of the motel or the Statue of Liberty sign outside of it.
Woah. I had no idea about the Rice industry thingy controlling the elimination of the X gene from the population using food
Yes it was surprising to notice
Crazy how I’m watching these movies years after they came out and somehow always find my recent Easter egg or breakdown videos😂
Definitely in my top 5 favorite superhero movies. Maybe in the top 5 favorite movies ever
What a amazing movie🔝🤙🏻😀
I absolutely love this film! It's one of the best CBM ever and a genuinely brilliant movie in its own right!
please dont use Jared again for anything other than getting coffee.
I'd love to see you guys do the original Raiders of the Lost Ark Trilogy
When I saw this in the theater, I legit cried when Laura called Logan "Daddy".
I ain’t gonna cap, i shed real thug tears during this movie smh
Iowa, baby!
Watching this video a year later just after they revealed the name for Deadpool 3 “Deadpool & wolverine” clairvoyant?
Do not know about best superhero movie, but definitely really good! I have watched it multiple times and still enjoy it every time
Best Fox X-men movie? I love me the Deadpool movies but this one just had so much more depth.
When Donald shot one of the fleeing boy in the mountain to stun him, he delivers the line impeccably "It's just a flesh wound baby!"
This is one of the best comic book movies and this is how to do a comic book movie and modern western. The ending is one of the most emotional and best in a comic book movie. Hugh, Patrick, Dafne deserved Oscar Nominations. Can't wait for Jackman's Wolverine return in Deadpool 3 and hope he's in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty And Secret Wars with Stewart's Xavier And Keen's X-23.
I beg to differ..
It’s one of the best comic book movies because, for the most part, it doesn’t FEEL like a comic book movie. Personally, I just can’t watch most of the X-Men movies, and I really can’t sit through any of the MCU movies; i’ve tried, but can’t normally make it more than 30 or 40 minutes before giving up, it’s just not my thing. But as a kid who loved wolverine, I watched the wolverine movies, and Logan is by far the absolute best comic book movie I’ve ever seen. It feels more like a modern day western, ala Breaking Bad or No Country for Old Men. Great movie, and highly re-watchable
@@evergray5063 Spot On. Hope to get McKellen's Magneto And Peters' Quicksilver In The MCU as well.
Also the bullet hole in the windshield when he’s running away in the car with the fence attached.
The Taco Bell Ad from Professor X was supposed to be also because he was receiving random radio waves in his brain lol and he got a quesalupa ad
27:20 i have that issue in mint framed :) one of the best comics ever :p
Wolverine was actually scene in Apocalypse when stryker took all of the mutants from the school. When they try to excape they run into Logan
12:25 There's bone in the back of an eye socket too, genius.
i saw a video before this, about this. it had more than a mil views and like 50k likes. and all he said was " i liked it fighting". this video only has 3k likes and u informed everyone about everything.
Jared Spoilers.. Amazing breakdown, Ty!
Hey do the Godfather next!l😂😂
@30:09 dang it Jared, your everywhere!!!
Right up there with the best comics adaptations.. I love how they finally went with an R rated Wolverine production and the script was just so good, too..who will ever soon forget that last Berserker Wolverine forest scene!? I had goosebumps up my arm when he first lets out that roar to signal that The Wolverine is about to fck some sh!t up.
The first appearance of x23 was from the NYX #4 comic book
I will watch it again hahaha!
Yeah, I know, I'm a little behind, but I just saw The New Mutants the other day. Loved it. Logan I saw a few years back, but a while after its release. I don't know if I'd say it's the best, but it's way up there. I seem to recall him looking at his dog tags with the name Logan etched into them at the end of one of the earlier movies recounting his backstory, showing he'd just lost his memory and only knew his name from that. Now I'm not sure if it was in the first film or an episode of the animated series, but I remember a conversation where Charles asked if Logan was his first name or his last and he said he didn't know. Anyway, I don't remember seeing the dog tags with Wolverine etched into them.
Well, Jamiraqui the Intern did a fine job, Paul. Full paycheck for that lad, proud of him. No theory Time, but I guess ya can't always have everything... Happy Holidays, Chump!
Logan is my personal favorite movie of all the different Marvel movies.
I honestly wouldn’t be sad if D3 opened with Logan on the log and Deadpool casually pulling him off and dragging him into a van… in fact I’m sure someone has pitched that in the writers room
The corn syrup doesn’t suppress the mutant gene of the person that’s consuming it. It suppress the replication of that mutant gene in that persons offspring if they eat it for long enough. Watch the Channel 4 tv show Utopia season 2 for a better explanation and the source that inspired that entire part of the film
Nice video can you guys do a break down off Sam Ramis Spiderman film Trilogy.
This movie is a masterpiece, James Mangold is a fantastic filmmaker. Can’t wait to see Jackman again in Deadpool
"I want you to breathe. It's just a flesh wound, baby"
Boyd Holbrook after shooting one of the kids during the final confronts in the woods.
Yes, i wann see that costume
I wouldn't say "Best superhero movie," but certainly one of the "best comic book movies." Although, seeing as it's not fully based on anyone one single comic it's just a great movie, period.
"You're not in Kansas anymore Paul/Definition /Kevin Spolilerman😂😂. You're on Pandora...respct that fact..we have an indigenous people called the Navi' ..that will eat your theory time eyes for jujubee's" 😂😂😂
4K!!
Hey! Tha New Mutants was pretty decent
agreed, but i have this weird gift that i can enjoy all the marvel/superhero movies. I liked green lantern as well.
About the dogtags, they are issued in pair and although they are supposed to be identical, I belive one says Wolverine, other says Logan. Therefore, those are the only names he is known as since memory wipe
Deadpool 3 is my most hyped film
Watching Logan dying at the end of this movie always brings a tear to my eyes...
So does the Prof-X death, SO SAD...
Someones been watching fx or its uk counterpart this weekend
Best Wolverine movie
I can’t believe you skipped over the movie’s ending and peak when Logan says, “ _You’re not what they make you_ “
Powder! Jeeese that's brought back 12yr old me watching sci-fi channel when I was meant to be in bed!
@18:45 nitpicking, but can't be from pyro b/c he cannot create fire, only manipulate it, & sunspot needs to charge via the actual sun & the kids were said to have never been outside
