I've once read a pretty fun theory, that the ending of BO2 is where two timelines diverge. TV Tropes quote inbound: *Black Ops III and Advanced Warfare take place in splinter timelines that break off from Black Ops II's multiple endings.* Leaving the whole "different companies' games are not canon to each other" thing, it makes for an interesting theory. They take place in the same general time period (2050s-2070), but the technological aesthetic and geopolitical landscape are completely different. One has a Crapsack World ruled by giant, Orwell-esque superstates locked in an eternal Cold War, mind control, cyborgs, and battlefield dominated by brutal robotic weapons. The other depicts a relatively clean and prosperous future, with no wars between major powers and terrorism on the decline thanks to Atlas, at least until Irons' machinations start to take fruit. Since BO III canonically takes place in a timeline where Raul Menendez was killed at the end of "Judgment Day", I propose that Advanced Warfare instead follows from the Golden Ending where Menendez is successfully capture and rots in prison. With his Celerium bug easily defeated by Karma and Menendez himself ending up little more than a punchline on the late-night monologues, the world was just a lot less scared of large-scale drone attacks- DEAD systems were never developed, the Winslow Accords weren't signed, and countries by and large stayed where they are instead of grouping together into superstates out of fear. The lack of a New Cold War and an arms race to go with it resulted in certain military technologies ended up becoming either more or less developed as compared to the BO timeline; cybernetics and autonomous robots remained side projects while more research went into exosuits and other weapons aimed at increasing the efficacy of single soldiers, and energy weapons were developed for ground use rather than air defence. Coalescence never really grew beyond Zurich, while Atlas instead picked up Menendez's patents after the Tacitus Corporation's liquidation.

You would think a barrett 50 cal would rip his leg off completely. The force is so strong from a 50 cal it could actually rip a man in half in the torso area.
Yes I agree with you masons legs could’ve been totalled and has to be in a wheelchair damn man
It must have just barely hit his leg and didn’t break any bones or anything
@@therookie5714 yes but the Barrett was a 50 cal sniper rifle and 50 cal bullets would totalled his legs or get torn off that’s a fun fact anyway thanks
Makes this Canon ending and not killing Menendez so that Black Ops 3 never happened.
i wish this was the canon ending
Nurse batshit, where’s my smokes!
Beat links in cod history
And it’s a bad f***ing day to be Raul menendez
LOL Good One
Who else wants a future black ops sequel with section returning? Be sick
I don't care what Activision or anyone says. THIS is the canon ending.
That's ✅️
That smile at the very last second after tasting his blood.
Bro I thought mason still died when I shot him in the leg 3 times then when I thought someone else was going to come in the room and I see mason threw of my freaking headset and screamed 😂
Ive always thought that davids reaction is strange, considering a few days ago woods told david that he shot his dad himself, probably thought woods was fucking with him
they put a bag above mason's head and told woods he was menendez
This is the canon ending, in BO6 Mason is just believed to be dead. The truth lies
I agree with you
By far THE best campaign story by call of duty alongside Modern Warfare 1-3
I love how it cuts back and forward while the soundtrack swirls and slowly builds up.
BO2 Remastered

The achievement timing along WITH mason saying "ass"
LMFAOOOOO
Best fucking ending
Yes it is XD
what ruins this ending is black ops 3's campaign
lol true that
I've once read a pretty fun theory, that the ending of BO2 is where two timelines diverge. TV Tropes quote inbound:
*Black Ops III and Advanced Warfare take place in splinter timelines that break off from Black Ops II's multiple endings.*
Leaving the whole "different companies' games are not canon to each other" thing, it makes for an interesting theory.
BO2 is goated the best COD ever made with zombies, this ending is canon
3:43 "imma try it out"
I love how Woods just introduced Mason to David. Idk why but its just funny
“Yeah but you got back up” we’ll no shit he just scratched his hands his not gonna sit there for all eternity
Lol
When people ask why I like black ops more than modern warfare, the answer is always the same...
Jimmy Kimmel isn’t part of the modern warfare universe
Call Of Duty:Late Night
Kimmel Warfare.
I need kill harper to get this ending?
I know... It was hard for me
Ya dont
+Bryce G. Yeah you do. Killing Harper allows Farid to take a bullet for Karma (Chloe)
Yeah
I save Harper Mason and kill Menendez
