Over a decade of owning 3rd gen 4Runners and it never occurred to me to do this. Thankyou for sharing your knowledge and expertise. Right to Amazon purchased everything you recommended and install was a breeze. I would have over paid for a stereo that was half the beast of the ATOTo system. Apple CarPlay and UA-cam! Great video! I actually returned this head unit because the volume buttons were terrible. They might work 1 out of 5 presses. It also would only connect to my phone randomly even though my phone would recognize the unit in CarPlay. Still my favorite channel for 4Runner content!

Great video! I installed in my 2002 4runner. The only thing I don’t like is that the unit automatically turns on when starting the car. This powers the antenna on which normally is not an issue unless it’s iced over or frozen. The antenna also doesn’t retract when the Atoto is turned off. It does retract when I turn off the car. Still researching to see if there is a setting to resolve this. Or maybe it’s time to get rid of the power antenna!
