Yeah I'm not even a Kiri player and the CD use makes me think they're boosted. There's no way they're higher ranked than me. Awful CD use. Never goes for headshots. Never tries to off angle. Positioning was wild sometimes. Not saying they're bad or anything, but Kiri's in my games look nothing like this

This was definitely something... There is nothing wrong with not being great at a character. But flaming your teammates and saying you're doing fine when you play like this is crazy to me. Like if they said hey I'm playing Kiri I feel like the DPS was not playing their best and I feel like I have a lot to learn. What can I do better to help my DPS succeed and to help climb ranks. Then it would have made perfect sense and all could be forgiven and lessons can be learned but to try to convince people that it's all your DPS and you're fine is crazy! That's the only word I can think of.
They genuinely play like a silver/gold they stand out in the open not even facing the other team sometimes, and completely misunderstanding or not knowing how the cooldowns work wasting fight winning ults and cooldowns. Some of these plays are bronze level
I would actually say that they are the problem. They legitimately had almost no impact, yet they have one of if not the most powerful combined kit in the game. The ult is fight winning and ult charging snowball machine, the suzu negates enemies impact or removes it entirely. Yet they didn't make a single play. All it felt like they did was hit buttons and heal. No meaningful dps at all the entire game, no offangles, always late with abilities or misusing them. They would have been more useful playing moira. More damage, more impactful ultimates, and whole lot more healing and specifically more meaningful healing. They always healed too late so that their dps couldn't peak to finish off a kill, for example. Their tank was unable to make space due to the dps not having the ability to add pressure because they always healed too late or at the wrong times because they didn't heal someone before that or misused a ability.
That's what I was thinking. Even if this used to be a console player who switched to PC, this isn't even console GM game play. Unless they were GM YEARS ago, or got inflated during a season when support was OP.
people need a reality check sometimes. low deaths doesnt mean youre doing good, and dying a lot doesnt mean youre bad. its what you actually provide for your team, and honestly they were playing like a silver/gold player. not a single thing they did was masters/gm level, and the fact that they blame teammates is funny. the only one holding them back is themselves.
I think around above diamond good players stop blaming others. Played a few Diamond games (I swear to Rein my tank was not supposed to be there, I am at max Plat on my play) and throughout all games every team was trying to help me and give tips and never once blamed me or screamed. They were very nice in general (aside one player who was sexist but hey, internet).

How do these people genuinely think it’s not their fault? They don’t even play at a gold level, how are they trashing on their team so much..? It almost looks like they barely even know how to play the characters. Suzu spam(bad cooldowns), bad ults, rarely offensive, and they rarely ever used quickstep to escape danger, which is arguably the best ability in her kit, because it’s a short cooldown. They’d rather throw a suzu at their feet on cooldown, rather than teleport 10 feet away to a perfect position with the rest of your team.

people have always overestimated how good masters players are. they often arent very great, especially before season 9 (?) rank reset. bonus points if they played season 3, when people from as low as plat got boosted to high masters due to an mmr error and then slowly (or sometimes quickly) fell down to their original rank as they played. this would mean that technically their peak would be masters 1, even though theyve been hovering plat-ish since then. masters 1 pre-reset is around mid-high diamond now, for reference. some of this gameplay looks like someone adapting to mouse and keyboard after being pretty new, and just being uncomfortable with the setup. this all checks out to me ngl. on top of that, boosting is WAY more common on console, especially with mercy players. i hate when people pull the “boosted egirl” card when theres many possibilities, especially considering its often just sexism rather than actual speculation, but it is common enough to be notable in this discussion

Heard that they were a GM/Masters console player who is stuck on gold, and I was expecting diamond or masters level game sense but silver mechanics, but it’s just bad game sense too 😅.
I peaked 4200 in OW1 but was basically hardcore boosted by some buddies that were like T200 ladder players and we just went hard one night. I typically hung out around 3500-3700 and I was cool with that. OW2 rolls around and I don't play as much. Started playing a month or so ago a good amount and post-rank reset I am Diamond 2-3 on Tank and Support, but high plat Plat on DPS (which was always my weakest role). I made a second account to just practice as I think high Diamond was a little too stressful at times for the amount I had played and I needed to get back into a rhythm. I'm low Plat on all 3 roles on that account and I've been slowly climbing as expected. Had a game today actually in Plat 5 on DPS where I went like 26-5 on Mei and was more or less carrying most team fights. Close game, New Queen Street we ended up losing to an OT cap. The soldier on my team then said "you're fucking useless Mei learn to play." He was 11-9. Seems like these types of players are pretty common in gold/plat lol The worst part is, if not for a few mistakes by me we would've won. The biggest ones being I had 2 bad Blizzards at the end where I tried to go for a hero play and ended up dying before the enemy team was completely frozen and my team just couldn't follow up. I can't control how good or bad my teammates are, but people need to really start looking at their own mistakes and figure out the 1 or 2 or 200 things they could improve on in any given game.
Yeah Ow2 is way more punishing when it comes to decision making. You can stomp hard but lose a game because you made a mistake at the end that prevents you from regrouping before the time runs out. Especially on tank, but the most punishing i think are high potential dps ults. If you whiff them it ends into a game over.
There's no way you go from high masters to gold on the console -> pc switch without having been severely boosted on console. Especially on support (and I say this as a support main). Game sense, awareness, cooldown usage carries more weight than pure aim on support. And these are the things that transfer over with very little hinderance when you switch between console and pc.

I'm a plat 4 Kiri on PS5 and I'm very far from perfect, but I feel like something as basic as cooldown management is something every role should have down by the time they hit gold. Seeing this usage of Suzu really just hurts my soul.
This is why blizzard releases a kiriko skin every update. Kiriko allows to do the bare absolute minimun and still feel like you are the GOAT. This player falls flat on the face and misses plays so much but no one really notices because it still kinda brings value. Imagine you pulled out your blade on genji and missed the dash in the same manner this delulu misses kitsune at 14:10 People would literally bully you out of the game, both teams would suggest that you should kermit sudoku while laughing their asses off

im so sorry but it felt like this person decided to play kiri for the very first time today on default settings and was testing out cooldowns still. i have absolutely no idea how anyone can play kiri with toggle ofuda on, its genuinely not even a preference atp as it disrupts the gameplay to have to wait for all 5 to go out before swapping to doing damage and it makes kiri feel so slow. thats not even starting on the suzu or kitsune... i have trouble believing they were ever higher than gold/plat on console either ngl
Gotta remember that console elo is compressed - Ximmers artificially shove down what would be higher ranked players and children / people who can't even turn properly shove people upward and out of bronze - bad af wifi, awful TVs, no audio - so much can go wrong on console so being bronze is nigh impossible. Additionally, smurfs sandbagging their placements wreaks havoc on the Silver - Plat lobbies. The exact ranks most people are compressed into. Diamond and Master are where Ximming becomes common (but the players may still be awful in other ways, including just being bad at Ximming) but GM and above is jusht Xim city. That's why console is a cluster heck - we are all compressed between Silver and Diamond. Individual games vary wildly, let alone tier differences being much larger than they ought to be - Silver and Gold are further apart in skill level than they should be because Ximmers are occupying higher tiers and droolers are occupying lower tiers.
Yeah no... even if they were supposedly "High master low Gm" you would have reaction time, game awareness, positioning, cooldown usage and management even after switching to another platform you dont loose all those mechanical skills. this brother was CARRIED or is lying i suppose the latter is right.
What I like to do after a defeat or hard win is look at my replay from the overhead view and see where me and the team went wrong. Are we using the terrain properly? Are we making picks? How is our positioning? What is our comp compared to the enemy? Is our situational awareness good? What mistakes did we make? Etc Then i know what i should work on when i go into a match or into training. Hero mastery helps a lot too with how you solve the problem and get the better score.
I would honestly do that only with fights that you either think you should have won and didn't or are surprised you won. Before the fight commences, look at everyone's cooldowns etc and what you did, could you have done something different to negate the amount of attention needed on you by teammates or resources invested that may have caused a different teammate to die or was it because you peeked a second time because you missed the first easy shot. If it was because you missed the shot move on;) you hit it next time. Reason I say this is because the chance the fights go the same way is very slim. Only thing you can really look at imo is where you apply the pressure as dps or tank and if you can close angles more (make it so less people can hit you but you have the same angle you need). That's imo the most impactful thing you can improve upon other then cooldown usage to learn via replay viewer.
maybe it's just because i switched from console to PC back in like season 12 of OW1, but i had very little trouble getting to the same SR that I typically was at on console (~3.8k)
Trying to equate Masters console to Masters PC just doesn’t hold water. Competition is stiffer, skill threshold is higher… seems like Gold is the real rank.
I can guarantee you console lobbies aren’t like this. Im mid diamond for support and this guys decision making is cringe. Not sure how they climbed up.
I play support (incl. kiriko) in silver 3-1. I think our (bad) positioning is pretty similar silver-ish. Suzu use is pretty bronze. At least, I will be able to clear a lot of abilities with my suzu and not throwing randomly. I do think they’re way superior in using kunai and getting elims than any silver Kiriko I’ve ever played or played with. That more than anything helps support climb. However, they don’t do kitsune-kunai to help on team kill very much. I would also guess gold.
I was console masters on OW1 before switching to PC around OW2 and they're completely different games mechanically. So much so that when the game was still fresh and getting money, they balanced PC and console OW separately. Heroes like Pharah and Torb were menaces due to how much restriction console players have with mechanics, able to take advantage of those with worse aim. Xyming was also a huge problem in high diamond and above.
real, i peaked diamond 2 in console and switched to pc and placed gold 1. comp games are so much different in pc than console let alone the skill. i see why people always said "plat in console is equal to silver pc"😂
I was high masters on console and I'm currently low DIamond PC. If that gives you any indication of the skill level at those tiers. Not that console players are worse, but the rank means less. Like, the old standard was that Diamond means top 10%, and that doesn't mean as much if there's much less players on that platform.

To sumarize -terrible CD usage -alright ultimates that he often doesn't use himself -rather bad reaction time and awareness -interesting aim -alright positioning but never proactive (no off-angles) -alright understanding of when to heal and when to damage, more proactive positioning could take advantage of this Definitely belongs into Gold

Bro is not a high masters player, the only difference you could argue between pc and console is aim and flick speed, nothing else from positioning to ability management should change. I am a dps main, former support main (500 hrs on kiriko)- your dps cannot do much if you do not support them. A good dps will not take a ton of constant dmg but there was a lot of times where they were both on crit and this kiri was healing the full hp tank or trying tp dmg the enemy tank lol. go in with them when they are making plays and watch their elim count go up ez

i checked their submission and theyre level 130 on mercy and next highest is moira and kiriko with both around level 17. they have 1100 hrs on the game but theyve just played mercy so that explains everything for me

7:09 ngl, when I play kiri and there's an enemy sombra attacking my widow/someone else... i kinda always suzu them. I'm so used to ppl dying from her due to the virus, shots, plus the dmg reduction. I feel like I'm wasting it, but when the other support's busy taking care of my tank, I feel like I can't afford to be safe. Should I just only heal them and hope no other enemy shoots at them too? I know it's kinda a waste but... my ppl be dying lmao

This is so true as a brigg main my dps are literal plebs. The overwatch matchmaker really sucks to be honest. if you win a few games guaranteed you will loss a few games always forces wins and loses.
I find the lack of insight some people have astounding. This person's entire game plan was to look in the general direction of the enemy or their team and hold down a mouse button. Yet somehow, they're convinced that their team is holding them back. It doesn't take a genius to guess what the common factor in all their games is.

I peaked 4200 in OW1 but was basically hardcore boosted by some buddies that were like T200 ladder players and we just went hard one night. I typically hung out around 3500-3700 and I was cool with that. OW2 rolls around and I don't play as much. Started playing a month or so ago a good amount and post-rank reset I am Diamond 2-3 on Tank and Support, but high plat Plat on DPS (which was always my weakest role). I made a second account to just practice as I think high Diamond was a little too stressful at times for the amount I had played and I needed to get back into a rhythm. I'm low Plat on all 3 roles on that account and I've been slowly climbing as expected. Had a game today actually in Plat 5 on DPS where I went like 26-5 on Mei and was more or less carrying most team fights. Close game, New Queen Street we ended up losing to an OT cap. The soldier on my team then said "you're fucking useless Mei learn to play." He was 11-9. Seems like these types of players are pretty common in gold/plat lol
The worst part is, if not for a few mistakes by me we would've won. The biggest ones being I had 2 bad Blizzards at the end where I tried to go for a hero play and ended up dying before the enemy team was completely frozen and my team just couldn't follow up. I can't control how good or bad my teammates are, but people need to really start looking at their own mistakes and figure out the 1 or 2 or 200 things they could improve on in any given game.
Yeah Ow2 is way more punishing when it comes to decision making. You can stomp hard but lose a game because you made a mistake at the end that prevents you from regrouping before the time runs out. Especially on tank, but the most punishing i think are high potential dps ults. If you whiff them it ends into a game over.

There's no way you go from high masters to gold on the console -> pc switch without having been severely boosted on console. Especially on support (and I say this as a support main). Game sense, awareness, cooldown usage carries more weight than pure aim on support. And these are the things that transfer over with very little hinderance when you switch between console and pc.

im so sorry but it felt like this person decided to play kiri for the very first time today on default settings and was testing out cooldowns still. i have absolutely no idea how anyone can play kiri with toggle ofuda on, its genuinely not even a preference atp as it disrupts the gameplay to have to wait for all 5 to go out before swapping to doing damage and it makes kiri feel so slow. thats not even starting on the suzu or kitsune... i have trouble believing they were ever higher than gold/plat on console either ngl

theyre level 17 on kiriko and have 1100 hrs on the game but by far the most on mercy so it checks out
Gotta remember that console elo is compressed - Ximmers artificially shove down what would be higher ranked players and children / people who can't even turn properly shove people upward and out of bronze - bad af wifi, awful TVs, no audio - so much can go wrong on console so being bronze is nigh impossible. Additionally, smurfs sandbagging their placements wreaks havoc on the Silver - Plat lobbies. The exact ranks most people are compressed into. Diamond and Master are where Ximming becomes common (but the players may still be awful in other ways, including just being bad at Ximming) but GM and above is jusht Xim city. That's why console is a cluster heck - we are all compressed between Silver and Diamond. Individual games vary wildly, let alone tier differences being much larger than they ought to be - Silver and Gold are further apart in skill level than they should be because Ximmers are occupying higher tiers and droolers are occupying lower tiers.

Yeah no... even if they were supposedly "High master low Gm" you would have reaction time, game awareness, positioning, cooldown usage and management even after switching to another platform you dont loose all those mechanical skills.

What I like to do after a defeat or hard win is look at my replay from the overhead view and see where me and the team went wrong.
Are we using the terrain properly? Are we making picks? How is our positioning? What is our comp compared to the enemy? Is our situational awareness good? What mistakes did we make? Etc
Then i know what i should work on when i go into a match or into training. Hero mastery helps a lot too with how you solve the problem and get the better score.
I would honestly do that only with fights that you either think you should have won and didn't or are surprised you won. Before the fight commences, look at everyone's cooldowns etc and what you did, could you have done something different to negate the amount of attention needed on you by teammates or resources invested that may have caused a different teammate to die or was it because you peeked a second time because you missed the first easy shot. If it was because you missed the shot move on;) you hit it next time.
Reason I say this is because the chance the fights go the same way is very slim.
Only thing you can really look at imo is where you apply the pressure as dps or tank and if you can close angles more (make it so less people can hit you but you have the same angle you need). That's imo the most impactful thing you can improve upon other then cooldown usage to learn via replay viewer.
maybe it's just because i switched from console to PC back in like season 12 of OW1, but i had very little trouble getting to the same SR that I typically was at on console (~3.8k)
This kiri really looks at their allies, who are in a safe position to tp to, and then uses suzu instead almost every time

I play support (incl. kiriko) in silver 3-1. I think our (bad) positioning is pretty similar silver-ish. Suzu use is pretty bronze. At least, I will be able to clear a lot of abilities with my suzu and not throwing randomly. I do think they’re way superior in using kunai and getting elims than any silver Kiriko I’ve ever played or played with. That more than anything helps support climb. However, they don’t do kitsune-kunai to help on team kill very much. I would also guess gold.
I was console masters on OW1 before switching to PC around OW2 and they're completely different games mechanically. So much so that when the game was still fresh and getting money, they balanced PC and console OW separately. Heroes like Pharah and Torb were menaces due to how much restriction console players have with mechanics, able to take advantage of those with worse aim. Xyming was also a huge problem in high diamond and above.

I was high masters on console and I'm currently low DIamond PC. If that gives you any indication of the skill level at those tiers. Not that console players are worse, but the rank means less. Like, the old standard was that Diamond means top 10%, and that doesn't mean as much if there's much less players on that platform.

I am a dps main, former support main (500 hrs on kiriko)- your dps cannot do much if you do not support them. A good dps will not take a ton of constant dmg but there was a lot of times where they were both on crit and this kiri was healing the full hp tank or trying tp dmg the enemy tank lol. go in with them when they are making plays and watch their elim count go up ez

i checked their submission and theyre level 130 on mercy and next highest is moira and kiriko with both around level 17. they have 1100 hrs on the game but theyve just played mercy so that explains everything for me

I think they were trying to use suzu like a shield, like trying to predict burst damage and throw it down when it hit. Honestly i understand why you would think to use suzu like that but its more impactful for low health teammates.
people have always overestimated how good masters players are. they often arent very great, especially before season 9 (?) rank reset. bonus points if they played season 3, when people from as low as plat got boosted to high masters due to an mmr error and then slowly (or sometimes quickly) fell down to their original rank as they played. this would mean that technically their peak would be masters 1, even though theyve been hovering plat-ish since then. i coach, specializing in support, and this seems to be the most likely situation here
masters 1 pre-reset is around mid-high diamond now, for reference. some of this gameplay looks like someone adapting to mouse and keyboard after being pretty new, and just being uncomfortable with the setup.

on top of that, boosting is WAY more common on console, especially with mercy players. i hate when people pull the “boosted egirl” card when theres many possibilities, especially considering its often just sexism rather than actual speculation, but it is common enough to be notable in this discussion

I feel like I'm wasting it, but when the other support's busy taking care of my tank, I feel like I can't afford to be safe. Should I just only heal them and hope no other enemy shoots at them too?
