I heard this tune by this band when I was too poor to go inside St.Mary's Church where the gig was on 39th St. in West Philly when I was in college in the early '70s.. I remember standing outside shivering in the cold. But the experience to hear this band was priceless!
+Saalik Z I wanna dis impure When Fluoride we endure The air we breath so free Is treated chemically The food we eat today Is filled with toxic spray The hormones that they add Will slowly drive you mad The natural foods are best So when you’re able Read the label The food refinery Will bring you misery If they can put in use More chemical abuse Shout Chorus When Eating don’t be rude Be sure to chew your food Your thoughts are in a bind Relax your tired tired mind Your organs need a rest Stop grinding all that mess Look fast and you will find It’s inner cleaning time Old Mother Nature Calls You better call her Don’t ignore her Solar Energy It shines for you and me Your body, your body sits and cries Why don’t you exercise
The lyrics is written on the vinyl fold. He did three records with the same type of sound called "The United States of Mind: Phase 1,2 and 3". Each phase symbolise the body, mind and soul. They are really awesome, the original pressings are not so expensive and there is also re-issues of them all. I would really recomend you to get all three, all the lyrics to all the songs are in the foldings. I don't know if it's possible to find the sheets, I think these albums didn't get so much response, they are very spiritual, maybe that's why they didn't become so popular.
Horace Silver was emphatically a GENIUS! RIP
Listen to the lyric, so ahead of it's time.Talking about the air we breath and the food we eat. Organic the best
This song has been playing in my head all morning, so happy to have found this! What a beautiful performance!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🎷🎺🎸🥁🎹

Does anyone know where I can find a lead sheet. Or find the lyrics?
+Saalik Z
I wanna dis impure
When Fluoride we endure
The air we breath so free
Is treated chemically
The food we eat today
Is filled with toxic spray
The hormones that they add
Will slowly drive you mad
The natural foods are best
So when you’re able
Read the label
The food refinery
Will bring you misery
If they can put in use
More chemical abuse
Shout Chorus
When Eating don’t be rude
Be sure to chew your food
Your thoughts are in a bind
Relax your tired tired mind
Your organs need a rest
Stop grinding all that mess
Look fast and you will find
It’s inner cleaning time
Old Mother Nature Calls
You better call her
Don’t ignore her
Solar Energy
It shines for you and me
Your body, your body sits and cries
Why don’t you exercise

By this time you’ve probably picked up on the 2-cd set on Blue Note. It’s OOP now ,but worth tracking down. Killer.❤

Danny Glover is drumming well.
+savedfaves hahah. I was waiting impatiently to see how much he looked like him after reading this. Wow.
Mickey Roker, I think
Nooo, thats Mickey Roker on drums. I saw this set on T.V. The show was called, 'Soul' w/Ellis Hislap on PBS in the early 1970s.
The lyrics are more timely then ever.
