You can tell it was edited as Tom's solo ends 2 beats early, and Horace' solo has 2 extra bars before the first vamp section (Dma7 Dmin7). Wonder if there's a full/unedited version floating around somewhere out there?
mike richmond! wow.... do you have any memories or stories about this performance or this band? it'd be great if you wrote an article about it, i'm sure there would be interest. thanks so much for posting!!
I love bob but everyone else was taking 1-3 courses and he took five or six. This is a T.V broadcast so they prob didn't have that much time to play. in my opinion its the band leader that should be able to take the most courses on a tune, but let me mention again that I love bob's playing.
bobby berg!!! G-d bless you in heaven.
so soulful!
pursuit of the 27th man is one of my fave horace silver albums ! thank you so much for this
young musicians take note: this is the real feeling of jazz.

Bob Berg’s pre-mature death was an earth shattering loss to the jazz world!
@TSSC1030 Tom plays the theme on the trumpet and by his solo has switched to flugelhorn by the looks of things...
