I think the game is about grief. If you are not strong enough after someone passes away, you wont be able to move on and eventually become a hollow person that can only think about death, but if you eventually become strong enough, then you will be able to leave this place and move on.

Man, I absolutely LOVE Grimm's Hollow. It manages to do so much within just the span of a few hours. And frankly put, it dealt with grief and mental health in a realistic and personal way. Speaking of which, I just got done playing Spiritfarer, another game dealing heavily with death and grieving. It's quite a bit longer than Grimm's Hollow, and is more of a building management game mixed with an exploration-based platformer. I highly recommend looking into it.

Sir, I believe you'd enjoy the game Xenoblade Chronicles. I recommend just playing the first two hours or so, and then you could decide if you wanted to play it every once and a while. It's a fantastic game with some of the best music in a video game, and really good voice acting too.
