ONLY READ AFTER WATCHING OR IF YOU HAVE PLAYED/SEEN THE ENTIRE GAME Just a couple of things I want to mention about the story/lore, from my understanding: The Transistor was built/discovered by Royce and he found out that it could be used to alter Cloudbank and control the Process itself. Later Royce handed it over to Grant who used it to kill/take people's functions (the skills we find) as well as their minds/knowledge to possibly develop some kind of human AI within the Transistor. The Camarata targets Red (as seen in the prologue cutscene thing) but the narrator (the voice in the sword) steps in and saves us. Whether he was our lover or bodyguard or both I'm not sure. Some time down the line Grant stops controlling the Process and lets its AI take over, and shit gets out of control and the Process starts reshaping the city itself. Out of pure guilt Grant commits Son Goku and Asher leaves. Red then goes to Royce and he tells us a lot about the Transistor and what happened. This is also where we see the Transistor in proper use, building a whole bridge in seconds. Then we fight Royce in some weird virtual reality, see some possible Traces(?) or minds of humans in the arena, and once we beat him we get teleported back out into Cloudbank as the only surviving person. Red now has the control to literally create the entire world as she wants, but instead decides to end it all in the hopes that maybe she could join the Narrator inside the Transistor. Very quick overview of what I gathered from the playthrough, and this DOENS'T include reading every single little detail and description or playing the Recursion mode which is New Game+ I assume with possible small changes. What a lovely game!
Yo you pretty much got it right. Mr. Nobody was Red's s/o and he risked himself to save her. She could recreate the city but she can't bring back the people. She felt that it was the best option in the end, as well as her only option than to live in isolation. Hi fun fact: when paper boats plays no matter what I am doing i will 100% always cry and sob while repeating the story of the game and it concerns my fiancé :)
As a baseline, its correct. there are a couple things that deviate from the common fan-canon, but thats the vague stuff so it doesnt matter. In terms of a couple evident things+speculation are: (most are things you find out, by fully unlocking the files of different characters) Sybil was very much infatuated(posibly gay) with Red, whose a controversial singer for songs agaisnt the fluid society of cloudbank(mostly in "we all become"). and we know Sybil was the reason the camaratta targetted red(ultirior motives not fully know). Asher and Grant were married to eachother, Asher doesnt leave, he is found dead with Grant Royce is Autistic
You pretty much got the gist of everything. Cloudbank is a virtual city with virtual people. Royce and Grant discovered that the whims of the people were always changing following always the same patterns. Everything was changing, but also nothing changes. Royce discovers the underlying mechanisms that allow him and other city planners to reshape the city, the Process. So he and Grant plan to change things in Cloudbank with it without the constrains of democracy. They pulled Sybil and Asher into their boat. Asher being a very inquisitive reporter and Sybil being well connected. Asher and Grant fall in love and marry (hench the same last name). Sybil looked for people to get their traces inside the Transistor, a tool Royce build to control the Process. It worked fine and lots of people "vanished" without a trace, being trapped, killed and absorbed. But Sybil had a crush on Red who was always hanging around with the Narrator, a person who is an anomaly and technically shouldn't be there. Red was suspicious of her and rejected her advances. In her frustration, Sybil became reckless and the group's attack failed spectacularly. They lost the Transistor and with it control over the Process. Sybil was killed by the process but Grant and Asher Kendrall locked themselves up. Grant couldn't take it and killed himself and Asher followed. Cloudbank was gone and only the Transistor was able to fix it. Royce tried to get the Transistor back but Red was stronger. But instead of playing God, she impaled herself with the Transistor. As I said, you got it pretty much the first time around without reading too many of the Functions' info. Impressive!
Darkwood is a really cool little psychological horror/survival indie game. Creepy without relying on cheap jumpscares while having a really cool action/base defense survival side. Loved this transistor video, glad you enjoyed the game!
Oh definitely, Pyre is such a great game. While the gameplay is not as refined as say Hades, I have yet to play anything similar to it. I feel like way more people should try it out.
Thank you so much for playing this game! It is my favourite game. Short but beautiful. And intruiging as heck! But it's also horribly underrated. Supergiant are always keen on telling stories with what video games have to offer. The way you learn more about the lore, story and characters by unlocking and reading the Functions' info is just amazing. AND BOY, THE SOUNDTRACK! There is a great video (by Fanfare I think) about how Darren Korb writes his soundtracks and I can only recommend it, if you're into video game music.
this game SLAPS HARD. I liked supergiant games after bastion, but I loved it after transistor. the way the music weaves into the story (how red hums softly whenever you use the slowmo), the relationship between her and the narrator, and even how the ending isn't exactly totally good, but still manages to end on a bright note... definitely a masterpiece.
Transistor is just one of those games man. Just like Journey I can replay it so many times. Doesn't matter one bit it's always the same, it's just that beautiful
From the exquisite Soudntrack, the Discrete Lore that lies within each bit of info, to the innovative combat system and the unique way of story-telling, a true masterpiece form the hand of our beloved Supergiant Games, played it 100%, all thropies. Like for this amazing youtuber playing this amazing game, way to go Myth!
Man I think I can confidently say you're my favourite youtube channel, if my friends knew about you they would know that is the reason I started saying rat bastard so much
Long time lurker, huge fan and first time commenting. I knew you would love this game! All Super Giant games are amazing. Definitely follow up with Bastion next. For the record, the ost for all these Super Giant games is all by Darren Korb, available for streaming on Spotify. I listen to them all the time!
I’m a little late. But I just gotta say the voice acting in this game is AMAZING like omg throughout watching this whole videos I’ve just been appreciate the realness of the voice actors it was spot on. But anyways good vid mythyy
YES YES YES YES!!! HELL YES!!! I'm sooo happy you played this gorgeous game and I hope you enjoyed every second of it!!! Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
I'm so glad you finally gave this one a try bc this game was the one that introduced me to supergiant games and their amazing stuff so it has a special place in my heart ‹3 art style, gameplay and music are incredibly outstanding, and since you liked both transistor and hades I think you'd like pyre, I've heard it's great as well, haven't tried it myself tho :P anyway cool video as always :D
Fuk man, ive been watching mythy for a lot of years now. So much so that I'm in college now and sometimes get so busy that I can't watch the majority of his content. Its no life changing anecdote but ive just gotta show my appreciation for something thats been with me for a while

Fuck yes? Honestly I love every single game from Supergiant Games. Meaning, four games, actually. But I do love all four of them. edit: just realised my username is actually from this game lol, I forgot.
A game that I really enjoyed and you might too is called "Remember Me" if I recall it wasn't super long but it's a really cool concept and the story was pretty damn good. Goes off of altering memories to effect the present. I'd love if you have it a shot. Keep up the great work man. 🧡
hey myth! i really enjoy the everyday uploads and your videos always make me smile! i would recommend you play a game called iconoclasts. its an indie metroidvania that’s really fun with a cool story. its a pretty decent length and has imo some really fun combat and an interesting story. def think its right up your alley.
YEEEEEES, FINALLY I CAN SAY MYTH HAS PLAYED TRANSISTOR AFTER 86 DAYS Thanks Myth, this is one of my favourite games of all time, you are in for a ride!
okay i am yet to watch the whole thing, but the Voice of Red, at least the singing one, is by Ashley Barrett, the same one who provided the Voice and songs for Eurydice in Hades. and just like that, i know i am getting Transistor and playing it.
YOOOO i'm kinda obsessed with supergiant's stuff even though i've only played hades, perfect timing that one of my fav youtubers uploads a playthrough of their game i'm second-most interested in (:
You know that moment when you get off work, but you don't have a car, but you can't walk because there's not a sidewalk on the highway, so your mom arranged for your aunt to pick you up so that you don't have to wait for your sister to pick you up four hours after sunset, but then your aunt doesn't show up?
You know that moment where you arrange for months to have your aunt pick you up at the airport in NYC 3000 miles from your home and she calls to say shes cancelling _after_ you land and you only have $80 to your name? Yea.
Day 38 : You should play Evoland 1 and 2, the first one is okay but the second is really fun with a good story, they travel across all stages of video games
This is an all-time favourite of mine, and I still listen to the OST on the regular. Another game that fits those criteria and my recommendation to you, is FURI
Trying to convince Mythy to play AliceMare with terrible puns and dad jokes DAY 37 I was going to get a Pizza delivered Then I realized Pizzas don't have livers
It was mentioned before me, but you should do yourself a favor and try out To the Moon. It is a short but brilliant game with nice soundtrack, I am sure you will feel something while playing it)
YO My name is Royce!!! I like never see my name used in anything so this is kinda exciting. Though at this point in the video im pretty sure hes a bad guy... oh well
I loved Bastion and Hades but I couldn't get into this one, maybe I should give it another go now that it's been a few years and my taste in games has changed a lot since then.

Logan Cunningham (voice actor for the Transistor aka sword) did such an amazing job that I think I fell in love with a sword
