@MarkReese would love to see a video on Wyndham compared to some other hotels; I use predominately AMEX, but the Wyndham Earner Plus gives 6x back on Gas and Wyndham stays, plus 4x back on Groceries and Dining. With a 45k point bonus after $1k spend and most rooms averaging 7500pts per night, I would consider it a sleeper card at just $75 annual fee.
The bulk of the Wyndham portfolio consists of budget / extended stay properties. If you prefer a lot of options in the upper midscale, full upscale, or luxury properties, then Wyndham is not a good chain to use.

Just a question: I've seen multiple UA-camrs who I know have the Amex Platinum say they value the Hilton Gold status of the Amex Hilton Surpass. Isn't this status redundant with the Amex Platinum? Or does the Hilton Surpass somehow provide extra Hilton status benefits beyond the Gold status the Amex Platinum provides?
My next card to get is the United club infinite card. Because of the 90k bonus miles. I’m planning to travel internationally soon on that airline so the 90k bonus miles would be nice. Then after a year I’ll probably downgrade to the Explorer card since I find that card easier to justify its annual fee than the quest card where you have to go through too many hoops to justify the higher annual fee

I like the Barclays American Airlines Business card better than the Citi version. Barclays doesnt offer that one anymore :(. Using business cards over personal ones when you get closer to buying yoru place may be a good idea so that the lender doesn't think that you have a bunch of debt obligations. Even though the balances are paid off every month.
Hope to see Barclays bring their AA biz card back 👍 I think it was last available in June 2023. Good point about using biz cards when it gets closer to the home purchase. Definitely want to keep the utilization down & the credit score up 📈
I can't confirm as I haven't tried it. All I can say is that the terms exclude those. To quote, the Gas category "excludes gasoline purchases at warehouse clubs, discount stores, convenience stores or other merchants that do not use the gas station merchant category code."
I think it will work because it's a MasterCard and since Sam's club issues its own credit card as a MasterCard I assume that it will be coded for it to work with any other MasterCard, I personally have the Chase Freedom Flex with the intro bonus of 5% back in gas stations and it works with Sam's gas
Discover allows you to have 2 personal cards. They can be the same version or different. All you gotta do is apply, but make sure the applications are 1+ years apart. For Chase, you can product change your way to multiple CFUs, multiple CFFs, or the original "Freedom 5%."
You can supposedly get a new Disco every year. Have two. When the older one is almost two years old, cancel it. Then when the new one is a year old, apply for another. So you have two most of the time and always have one getting the double bonus for 10% on rotating categories up to $1500 spend per quarter and 2% unlimited everything else. When you hit the $1500 cap, switch to the older card and still get 5% for up to another $1500 spend.

Hmm. I did my product change in Sep. 2023, though it was from the Freedom Unlimited (Visa) to the OG Freedom 5% (Visa). Do you have either the CFU or CSP / CSR? If so, call & ask if one of those Visa cards can be converted to the OG Freedom 5%. You don't have to proceed, just ask.
Depends on how often you fly JetBlue. Generally speaking, I consider airline cards good for benefits / perks / status ... not for everyday spending. That said, the JetBlue Plus card for example is all right for buying tickets at 6X points, but the 2X categories aren't that exciting. Good Stuff Mark. I'v read that some people have been able to product change into 3 of the citi 5% custom cash cards. That + some other misc 5% cards might actually be the best set up. I'v got 5% rotating category burnout - I don't even pay attention anymore now that the fixed 5% exist. I just keep them open in case I want to product change into something later.
I used to drive by a Target every day going to and from work. If I was still that close, I would have that card. But now I'm an hour and a half from a Target and stop in one maybe once every two or three years.

All of the relevant card benefits get linked to your AAdvantage account, so as long as you add your AA # to the reservation, you get the free checked bag + preferred boarding. You don't need to use the card for the booking. That said, yes, to save on an inflight purchase, you need to use the card, so I'll charge my $12 chicken wrap / WiFi to the card if I decide to eat / connect on the plane.

People who enjoy playing the game. For the majority of people, using a lot of cards is not recommended.
I'm doing the opposite, looking at getting 3-4 cards this year, my 1st card was the chase ink business unlimited.
