I'm glad it's going to be in 80crv2. It's better than 5200 in almost every way. Since your knife looks a bit on the thin side and 80crv2 is practically indestructible I think it will have good durability with the thinner stock.
@@sirsir9665 I don’t know where you’re getting the thinner stock thing from? It’s 3/16 thick so as thick is an Esee6 or BK7. Thank you regardless though.
One suggestion on handle scales: No, you don't want them to be round, but adding in a little tapering would help with indexing. The rounding you have on those handles looks like it'd be very comfortable, but if you have the bottom just a little narrower than the top, it'd make swing control a bit better. I was a little hesitant when you said it was 52100. It's considered a decent choice among many blade makers I know, but not one I'd pick unless the other choices were things like 8CrCommieSteel or Pakistani Poop Dump steel (I'm exaggerating, of course, but it's not my favorite.) However, 80CrV2 makes all the difference in the world. I don't know if it's the additional elements or just that the people who make 80CrV2 are more attentive, but apart from a small handful of exceptions (3V and CD#1 come to mind) I'd choose 80CrV2 over almost any powder metal steel for a hard use outdoor knife. Guys like Jesse Helm turn it into magic. I have several 48" bars of 80CrV2 from Aldo Bruno sitting in my den waiting for me to complete my current teaching certification so I can get back to creating blades for fun.
I think that if you do exactly the opposite of what Survive knives did to his customers, you will succeed. Guy at Survive ripped off over 3000 customers on prepaid knives. Yours looks legit and good luck, young man!
Absolutely great all purpose design brother!! Kudos on that, but price will keep most people away with other offerings available from the likes of WTG, Becker and Esee at almost half the price. Love your design!😎👍
I think it’s an incredible price point, if I made it, your looking at 500/550 Also, this is made by a one man show! People have a ton of respect and will seek out the one man show made knives
@Primitivebearknives I totally agree. This is a mass produced knife like Esee or Becker. These are made by a one man shop. For that it’s a great price point and I think they’ll sell like crazy even at that price
@@Primitivebearknives hey, woah down a bit! I never said anything about "Worth", "Hard Work" or "Quality" etc.. Understand? Just an actual fact in these tough times! I've made knives myself and won't do it anymore cause noone can afford it. Have a great day👍
@@WEREWOLFUSMChey woah now! I wasn’t being a dick or confrontational!!! All I’m saying is there is TONS of people that WILL buy it. I can can almost guarantee you this. You'll sell 6 or 7 at $350, then drop it to $250 and sell about 100 more and it will end at $200 for a handful more. Let's see how close i'll be....

The finish is nice. You’re right about the blade being similar to a recurve because of the angle.👊

Very good Knife co does amazing work with 80CRV2 steel and I’m glad that’s what we’re going with
I'm signed up for the VGKC email news. You should talk to him about a drop notification a week out. That would help if you're not doing pre-order.
I’m sure he will have a email notification and I’m going to be updating people as well. When I know you all will know for sure
