Man I so appreciate your instruction. It is a simple replacement but without your help it could be a nightmare if someone not knowing what to do starts forcing plastic parts of with screw drivers and starts breaking stuff. You’ve got my subscription… thank you!
While my Corolla was parked a hit & run driver took out my Driver Turn Signal Lamp so I had to replace it. This video was exactly what I needed. Thanks for posting!
The same exact thing happened on my 2001. On both sides. The lens caps just fell right off. No abuse. No damage. These cars just fall apart. The headliner started sagging and turning to dust years ago. The plastic sun visor clips just fell apart. The driver's side seatbelt buckle is worn out (Honestly. I've never seen a seatbelt wear out in any car). I've had to replace the flimsy plastic inside door handles on both sides multiple times. I've never seen that happen on any other car. How are these cars so beloved and revered? I bought into the Toyota hype. Bought this car brand new. Has less than 90k miles on it. Has been garage kept for much of the time And yet it has started to disintegrate before my eyes. Maybe the engine will run for 300k miles. If it does, there likely won't be anything left but a rotted out frame, an engine and the remnants of the seats (they're turning to dust as well). Toyota must have made the interior of these cars out of compressed sawdust or something.
Then buy American, you'da replaced BOTH turn signals front and back by now, and the engine would be reaching terminal velocity. I bought 2 American 'economy' vehicles in the 70's combined - I got a total of 190K out of both of them. My 2000 Corolla has that on it now, and all I've replaced is 2 MAF sensors, and serpentine belt and radiator hose (out of caution). I'll never buy another American vehicle
Thank you so much for the great explanation and video. I just replaced this, although I banged up the old one pretty good trying to pull it out with pliers; it's a little hard for older ladies with limited hand strength. I had to pry the other thing off the wire harness with a flat screwdriver, but it's done! And it cost 6 bucks :) Now to pass that inspection.
My beloved 2001 Corolla just failed inspection because of this! They wanted to charge me "less than $100" to replace/install it. Um, NO! I immediately ordered the $17 part on Amazon and with your how-to video I feel confident that I can do it myself and pass inspection. Stay tuned!
I DID IT!!! 🎉 It was a bit tricky at times, but I did it! Rewatching this video really helped. Strangely, I found unplugging the old socket to be the most difficult task, but it eventually pried loose. I'll be surprised if my car doesn't pass inspection now. I am really grateful! You saved me lots of money!!! I'm a 40-ish woman without much mechanical know-how, so if I can do this, anyone can. THANK YOU! ✌️
Just changed mine since it was shattered like the one you showed in the video. I was out in the cold and wanted to change it quickly video really helped !
About to do this tomorrow with my dad to fix up his old ‘99 that’s coming to me :) already successfully fixed the super common inside door handle break so I’m confident I’m gonna nail this, especially with your help!
Thanks for the instructions and the info. about where to find the part! My Toyota dealer was going to charge me $300 to do this job, parts and labor. Not for a 22 year old car, thank you.
@@SparkyChannel I thought I'd have to go to a junkyard in order to find a part for my 2000 Corolla, let alone install it, but your video saved me time and money. Thanks again Sparky!
Ty. My left turn signal in the front went out, this should be an easy change on my Corolla. I have no cover on it, but I have to glue the cover I got from Ebay.
Hi Bill, thank you for your video's, they are awesome. I have a situation, I want to use a fan /light combo with the fan on three way switchs. I want to be able to turn the fan on from two locations, shower or bath. How would I accomplish that? Any help would be welcomed. Thanks again.
Sir: i went to get in my 99 toyota avalon xls & the cover to my turn signal light was gone. The amber blinker light is still on. But NO cover. How can that be? Nothing is broken.Except cover gone. Only people Thats been under ny hood is walmart lube fir oil change.(?) Any ideas?
That wasn't broken pieces or no sign of damage in my parking spot. So i dont know. Could they have popped it off with screw driver? My son from another state said..sounds like they did. So confused.
Instead of grabbing it with pliers on the front and pulling it forward, could you stick a flat head screwdriver behind it, between it and the fender, and pry it forward?
I had both of my lenses pop off I thought something hit my car know the lens cap popped off in the other side pops off like few weeks later I never had a car where those lenses popped off before you might as well do the headlights next take care🍻🍺

Sorry for the accident but I'm glad I could help.
Took me less than 2 minutes , not counting prep work of getting tools lined up. Actual procedure less then 2 minutes. Thanks Again.
Great to hear!
Thanks Sparky! Long-time Corolla driver, first-time turn signal replacer and this is going to make it super easy
Excellent!
I'm so excited! Thanks to you, this 68 yr old non-mechanically minded woman just performed this feat all by myself! Thanks Sparky Channel!
Way to go Nancy! Great job!

This is so so helpful. Great that this part is not very expensive! Going to order my part now. Thanks again!
Glad it was helpful! Best wishes!
Thanks sparky! Was trying to get into the bulb from the inside and it wasn't happening. Was just a loose bulb. Picked this car up with only 74k miles.
