quoted $500 for me (charged me 150 to diagnose). Took me 15 minutes (5 minutes on ebay +10 install). Even easier on the '04 camry. Prviously they quoted me 250 for plastic part on the bottom of the car. I bought it for $20, and asked them kindly to install as part of an oil change. lol. Nice enough staff, but they are ridiculous to quote people such prices for factory "new" old parts.
Thank you so much!!! This was super helpful. An auto shop was asking for $93 for them to install it. Now I can do it myself. So excited for my left turn signal to work normally again. 😀😊
Thanks Mate, I love your explanations , pretty much similar with my Toyota,am having hi beam problems.simply did that was a easy fix .and I saved money.i got hairly legs too.😅😅
I bought a third party new one (WVE) from Rock Auto for less than 20 bucks. It's been working great for months now. Hardest part was getting the top and bottom plastic shroud pieces mated together for reassembly. Still took about 20 minutes start to finish.
This fixed my problem. My headlights would no longer automatically turn off when I turned the car off. Searched the internet for a fix and couldn't find anything. Since the car doesn't ding at you when you leave the lights on, we have a had a few dead batteries in the morning. Disconnecting the battery was the hardest part for me. And getting the plastic pieces to snap back together. Took about 1/2 hour.
I have a 99 Camry 4 cylinder American Edition both of my headlights randomly just stopped working at the exact same time I checked as many fuses as I could find and I believe it is probably this switch as well I will keep posted thank you for the video and the information
After watching this video it helped me fix my blinker in my kia before I drove it home some one put the damn fuse in wrong and I told my husband check the fuse and he did and that's what my issue was
I stopped by Toyota to get this on the way home, price was $250, I knew better prices were on the internet. I knew what was wrong with my switch though because I had the problem before. I take whitish plastic cover off the switch, loosen two screws, turn over the part the loosens, clean the center contact that wears out real good with carb cleaner. Flux and solder on a thin piece of copper from an old cord plug I clipped off and cut around to make a circle. lol I'm pretty cheap but works great. From a plug that had folded prongs, not the solid ones, those are prob too thick. Only took about 15 minutes to clean on solder on.
Hey there.. Well, you actually did me a favor... No, my car is not a camry, it is actually a Sequoia, but guess what, from what I've seen on your video, the turn signal column/ switch look the same. I am a 100% sure it is much cheaper to ask for a camry switch than a sequoia one. Thanks for the super clear video... Keep it buddy..
Hello. I have a 97 Camry and just today the signals on both sides stop (they stay on-one at a time-they don't blink) and then they usually start blinking again. Then it happens again when I need to use them again. Any ideas if it is the flasher unit going out or the switch? Very informative video. Thanks a lot my friend.
When I use my blinker it makes my head lights turn off and when I turn the blinker off it’s 50/50 if the head lights come back on with out me turning the light toggle again. Could replacing my handle like yours maybe fix this problem? Thaaank youuu
This is what my camry is doing! My headlights come back on when I apply pressure up on the Handle of the switch! I am going to get a blinker switch! Thanks
It looks like the job is a little more difficult for the 2007 camry, and there doesn't seem to be a good tutorial. I would try this out first if the camry has the same layout as this corolla of the same year, before replacing the whole combination switch: ua-cam.com/video/nMlyPFWdEIA/v-deo.html&ab_channel=GroupBEJ25 If that doesn't work or if its not similar, this is the best tutorial I could find but its for a toyota prius of the same year range instead. Toyota tends to share parts along a lot of its cars so this should work: ua-cam.com/video/MEkQ-8HsSGU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JustVlad Overall I would take a peak at the videos and if you feel confident with doing it yourself, try the first one out and then do the second one if they share the same layouts.
Where can I find the fill spot for the blinkers? I swear I've been searching for over an hour, approximately. They make these cars so difficult to work on anymore.... AND I'M A CAR GUY!!!
After watching your video I installed a new switch in my friend's Camry. However once you turn on the turn signals in either direction and complete the turn, the switch does not reset itself. Did I miss something about the switch when I installed it?
Same issue on my 2000 left one as well works about 1/3 of the time. I heard that they work up too 06 I am installing fog lights and will need a column with a fog light switch.
@@tommycorbet I don't see why not, as long as you have all the necessary connections it would be wise to test it before putting back on the cover. Kinda silly I didn't think to do that too lol
This looks like the same setup as my 06 Tundra. I think I'm having the same issue. But my both turn signals work. But if I turn my switch all the way up for the headlights. They go 📴. ???? If I let off the switch the headlights work.
Since you cannot turn the steering wheel at the junkyard to have access on the other screws what tools do you recommend in breaking that steering wheel cover.
I own a Camry 2009 SE and my headlight piece on the turn signal switch falls out. This was not a gradual thing it was night time and I got back in my car went to start it and turn the lights on and lights wouldn’t come on. Just the portion that turns. My signals work fine. It’s literally just that in peace that you turn and when I pull it out I see it the entire rod that’s inside of it comes out. There are two ball bearings and two springs. I can feel the tension of the springs but I cannot get the end to stay back in. Can I replace the entire headlight/turn signal piece the same way you did? Is it that simple on my model? I’ve already got my steering wheel plastic parts off.
I'm replacing my switch because it the lights come back on after turning it to OFF. Some are saying it's the relay, but I'm going for the switch because it's the cheapest part ($25 for OEM) to replace. If it's not the switch, I'm only out $25.

Great video, thanks! Question: the light bulbs inside my turn signal stalk AND the wiper stalk on my '01 ES300 don't light up. All the other lights light up on my dashboard. Am I correct in assuming it's a fuse? Or could it be something else? I'm gonna use this video in case I gotta get in there.
