Linkin Park - One More Light (Live) - Reaction from Father and Son missing Chester

- Reacting to one of my son and my favorite artists of all time. This is the live version from Jimmy Kimmel done as a tribute to Chris Cornell passing. Unlike usual, I didn't do hard edits on this as we both miss Chester a ton and had some stuff to say. For the first time I could see my son was getting emotional at one point. Chester will truly be missed.
Original Video: • Linkin Park - One More...
That "I do!" in the bridge was NOT Chester`s usual scream. Usually, there was a mix of rage, energy and sadness in his screams. That was pure sadness.
Truth. 💯 Emotion
Amen. and i dont think it's in the normal recorded song. It's the pain he feels for loosing Chris and the struggle in him self. Then at the end later on you can hear him get choked up cause he stops singing one part. You can hear the pain in his voice at the end once it gets to him. But agreed. thats not a Chester singing scream. That a true Chester screaming publicly admitting he misses his friend and he cares that one more light went out.... You can see the pain in his face after that scream...... This version chokes me up everytime knowing that we all seen the pain in him and many of us feel like we knew what he did was coming..... i'm glad the scream was not in the studio version. this live version truly shows chesters pain for what happened and whats in him. everything about this version is special. I just had seeing the pain in him that caused his own death..... we miss you chester.......
You could definitely tell during a couple of moments in the song that he was getting choked up. Such a tragic loss, both Chris and Chester.
I cry every time when he hits that note
Just like LP fans would say “don’t be sad that he’s gone, be happy that he was here with us”
'And you're angry, and you should be'
Please don't bottle up your emotions, it can only destroy you if you do.
But sometimes you also have to be real with what you're feeling. When someone hurts you and you feel like you didn't deserve the hurt they gave to you, you'll feel angry at some point. You'll need an outlet, your anger will show along the way as a part of the process but you can't just bottle it, you have to know you are so you don't result to lie on yourself.
@@karlkenremedio4967 This is a nice addition to my comment. Thank you
That scream gave me chills an you hit it in the the head the crowds silence wow listening to a lot of linkin park I feel he's cryin for help in a lot of the lyrics rip chester
The scream was almost like yelling for help.
The crowd was quiet cuz they were crying just as much as we all have watching this. My brother was there n he said he's never seen a crowd sing along crying with a group. He almost couldn't do the song cuz during sound ck he couldn't make it through the song w\o losein it. Miss u Chester n Chris fly high my Angels..
@@rambowbizz
Not only was he yelling for help, he was saying goodbye 😢💔
I can’t listen to this version or watch the tribute video they made after he passed without getting choked up. His scream in this version is just gut wrenching and raw and it gets me every single time even though I’ve probably listened to it 50 times. It’s just brutally raw emotion and you can feel it. I honestly don’t know how musicians are able to perform these songs when they have such a deep connection to something so personal. I know there are some musicians who quit performing certain songs because they couldn’t keep it together long enough to make it all the way through anymore and I can’t blame them a bit, even if it’s a giant hit of theirs.
The relationship between a father and son makes me smile every time. Me and my dad have grown apart for a lot of reasons, but I still love him more than anything. Someday he’s gonna be gone, and I’ll always think of what could’ve been. God bless you guys
I've watched a lot of people reacting to this vid, but your son at 5:38 - THAT's a real reaction! Totally into it.
Linkin Park is the best.
This hit me my dad took his life and by the first few notes I got tears about to flow
I truly think this is the most emotional performance I personally ever seen. I lost so much family members, including my dad. I feel it so well, that scream is pure, from the heart. Chris Cornell is a LEGEND and Chester is a LEGEND.
I love this song. It was a great tribute to Chris. Chester was one hell of a singer. And that primal scream! Gets me every time.
I can’t listen to this song, let alone watch the video because it literally makes me cry every single time for the raw emotion behind lyrics & then obviously Chester’s terribly sad situation.
God Bless him 🙏🏻
You're right Chester is and was the best of our generation 😭😭😭😭
the studio version does have his scream in it. But from an aussie down under its awesome to hear you and your young fella connecting over linkin park chester would be so proud
I 💔 CHESTER 😢🤘🔥
An Absolute Legend RIP CHESTER
This entire performance was great despite the several chokes. The lyrics really make an impact though the beat is really simple. And that scream. I could hear it for a hundred times and I wouldn't get sick of it. I definitely prefer this live version over the studio one. Love both your reactions. Please react to more LP performances. You will be amazed.
Thank God, someone reacting to a linkin park video where they dont fake it's their first time listening to it x)
RIP Chester. LP forever
I like how your son is worried about you and keeps glancing at your face
My favorite part is @9:20 he was a spokesperson for a generation
Rip to him 😭😭
His scream was so so real. It hurt to hear it 😢
Live reactions are ALWAYS better for me.
Your son needs to watch more live performances from LP!! Keep me coming!!
I just came across U both when I was searching for this song n I watched cuz I wanted to see if Dad made it through w/o losein it. N kudos to you cuz I've watched it atleast 30times n still lose it whn he screams u can feel his hurt through it. ok. This was 2 mths b4 Chester died by Suicide. July 2017. Chris died May 2017. same way. dude. Chester could barely get thrue this. Had to redo it several times . He stoperd thrue end of this for a bit.
Id agree that Scream, WOW the best Live performance and emotional performance
Beatiful song
The scream is in the album version. It's just mixed into the background during the solo. I never noticed it until I watched the music video for one more light.
He does it in falsetto on the album
Hope to see more.
Although he didn’t write it he definitely related to each word considering he took his own life.
Chester bennington is the best🙏🙏🙏🙏
Linkin park por siempre wey 💔😢🔥🔝🤘
Awesome
A tired soul screaming but no one hears until it's too late.
Crawling is the best song!! I agree with your son!! 😃😃😃
All of Linkin Park in my opinion is better live. You really should do please. My favorite band. RIP Chester.

I totally lost it on that video.
Oh man....i can't even watch
7:32 damn ☹️
Pisses me off so much. He knew. He knew so damn well. He felt it how it was like to lose a friend who took his own life. Then he did it to us all. And he knew how we'd feel, how'd it feel like knowing we'd never see such a splendind human being living, breathing, singing, and sharing his talent with us anymore. The void he'd leave behind for his friends and family. And for the fans who grew up listening to his music, and his lyrics.
I just can't with him. I obviously feel very sad by him doing what he did and how tough things must've been for him dealing with depression. But I also am f*cking angry at the same time, that he didn't took a second to think "I'm not doing **this** to all those millions who love me so much and want me to feel better".
Mixed feelings, I tell yah. Can't help it each time I think about him.
Also, that scream. So much going on in that one. One of the most beautiful things ever seen in a live music event.
Not even a crowd of thousands saying they loved him could stop it. He was ill, and no one could help. It's not selfish... He had only one option in his mind.
I agree. It’s much like anxiety. A person can be anxious about something so trivial, AND KNOW that it is trivial, but still be anxious nonetheless. It’s not something that they can control so easily. Likewise with depression, he felt there was only one option and in his mind he probably thought everyone would understand and be fine without him. Not “be better off” without him, I don’t think he had that kind of mentality. But I think he probably thought we would all be okay without him. Kind of like when loved ones are terminally sick, and they hang on well past when they should because they aren’t sure their family will be okay, and when they finally feel like the family WILL be okay, they pass on. I think maybe he simply thought it was his time and that we would be alright. Just my thoughts.
I still not think Chester nor Chris Cornell killed themselves. I can explain more but to much to write about it on here. N I can bk up wht im saying n my brother works in the music business n he told me some things tht would blow the lids off some ppl..
@@Ghostfailure33object27 I know the struggle of depression quite well. Pretty close people to me suffer from it, and someone who was very close to me in the past (namely, an ex-gf, tho her illness had nothing to do with us parting ways) also had a severe case that needed medication.
So I'm familiar with it. I know the struggles, how deep the pits are when you have a bad time, how difficult is to find reasons to even step out of bed every morning. As I said, I lived with it myself, not first hand, but I could see the effects.
And I'm sorry, it's not an excuse. At best an explanation. But not an excuse. Because even if the struggle is real, even if it's really an uphill battle, people with depression have to find reasons to step out of that bed every day, the same way as he did. And they do... he chose not to.
And he had very good reasons at hand to step out of the bed and live. Not just legions of people who loved him, not just friends, not just family, but what had happened to his friend alone was reason enough. He knew what it was to live through it, he knew what it'd be for others to live through him taking his own life.
And he still did it. So, I can't help but be mad at him. He knew what it'd to to millions of us. He had lived it first hand when his friend had done it. And still he didn't think that was a good enough reason to live. Pisses me off, it's what it is.
Depression is not an illness that turns you into an automaton that kills himself just because he's programmed to, with no choice not to do it. He still had the choice, he still took the conscious decision to end it all, even when it knew what it meant for his loved ones and for his admirers and fans.
Sorry, as I said, I do accept the explanation, but I don't find it as a valid excuse. because for me, and I'll have to insist I've lived very close to severe cases of depression, it is not.
“And you’re angry, and you should be, it’s not fair”
Please react to linkin park live faint at japan 2007! your son's opinion would change about live shows!
I know you said you don't really like live performances, but crawling (one more light) live is definitely something you'd appreciate.
Yeah, but not to sound like a fanboy but Linkin Park Live is amazing, like, one of the few bands whose live performances can be as good as the studio version
@@viictor1309 facts bro
@@viictor1309 and how he interacts with us during his shows. Would come down n hold hands n hug n stand over us as he's singing.
