I always honour water at this time of year too because it seems to become incredibly important after a week of constant sun ☀️

I'm Norwegian, and we celebrate midsummer with bonfire. And in old tradition a young girl could have a dream about her future husband if she picks 7 different flowers and climbes over 7 fence gates. Staying up until sunrice is also something we did when I was young, the night is very short where I live in midsummer time. It doesn't get black dark at all. Now, on the 10th of June sunrice is at 03.13 and sunset at 23.38. Our neighbours, the Sweedes dances around the Maypole at midsummer.

Would you ever consider writing a book with all your knowledge? That is something most of us here would appreciate.

I did start writing a book and got a publisher interested but it was so HARD! Each word took me AGES to write. Realised I couldnt do UA-cam and a book at the same time, Writing is for professionals rather than me.

My heart just fills with joy when I see you’ve posted one of your entertaining and highly informative videos! I always learn something new, not to mention, many of these old traditions and folklore are just so magical and charming- thank you for showing us how to keep them alive and celebrate them the way our ancestors did❤

Ginny, would you consider making a video guiding witches regarding what to do and what not to do about joining covens? What to look for in a good coven? Red flags we should avoid? Thank you! Enjoy your upcoming Summer Solstice!

Hello. I tried the Devonshire Honey Cake. OMG! IT IS CRAZY DELICIOUS. Thank you for sharing. Happy Litha! It's rainy here today. But still a lovely day. Had a lovely fire in the garden last night though.

I make a Sun Wheel to burn in our Coven Bonfire. I also make a spinach pie that is topped with green pastry leaves and made into The Greenman. Lastly, I make a cake drizzled with honey that is in the shape of a beehive.

In Ukraine we celebrate the summer solstice “Ivana Kupala” with jumping over bonfires. It is believed that if the couple jumps over the fire holding hands without getting burned they will have a great relationship. In the night before Kupala young girls make flower crowns and let them flow down the river, depending on how soon the crown stops at riverside will determine how soon the girl finds her lover. When I was a child, my grandma told me the legends about how on this night the trees speak and if you go to the forest you may find the blooming of the fern that will grant you impossible luck in life. My family though is very Christian and anti-pagan, so it was forbidden for me to learn and participate in pagan celebrations, but now as I am independent it brings me immense joy to revive my cultures traditions and honor the old gods as I've always wanted 🤍🌲🍃

I love your videos. We have been really dry here in Northern Illinois. Haven’t been able to have a backyard fire in weeks and weeks. 😢. Too dangerous (of course that hasn’t stopped some people but we want to be safe).
It is supposed to rain this coming weekend. We are hopeful it does.

In Spain the day of Saint John we burn what we don't want and we jump the bonfires, we make wishes and at midnight we swim in the sea to purify ourselves, it sounds truly magical 😂

This year, for Litha, I will be able to have a fire in my fire ring. We have had unseasonably heavy rain this year as opposed to last year when we had no rain whatsoever. I haven't been able to have a fire in over a year and a half. Litha blessings to all.

I always make oven cooked meatballs with lots of lavender and rosemary for midsummer. They’re delicious. I dole them out or have a party in the garden. I think I’ll make some amulets with camomile and rosemary this year since my harvest is abundant. And I like your idea of sunbathing my carneols. Thank you.

How did you burn down the forest.
You can always put fire in a fire pit or old tin.
But make sure you know how to put it out before you leave it.

It was my husband having a bonfire in midsummer (!!!!) 120 trees - young ones - died, I feel terrible still. The firemen loved it as it was a big blaze, but easily contained and they got to use all their toys. I have flashbacks of shame all the time.
