I'm Norwegian, and we celebrate midsummer with bonfire. And in old tradition a young girl could have a dream about her future husband if she picks 7 different flowers and climbes over 7 fence gates. Staying up until sunrice is also something we did when I was young, the night is very short where I live in midsummer time. It doesn't get black dark at all. Now, on the 10th of June sunrice is at 03.13 and sunset at 23.38. Our neighbours, the Sweedes dances around the Maypole at midsummer.
I did start writing a book and got a publisher interested but it was so HARD! Each word took me AGES to write. Realised I couldnt do UA-cam and a book at the same time, Writing is for professionals rather than me.
Ginny,I absolutely love you. You have taught so much in all your videos. Beautiful one on Litha❤as always. Preparing yummy strawberry, blueberry muffins. Alter set with lovely candles and roses. We will have a big feast and fire. Many blessings to you.
Ginny, would you consider making a video guiding witches regarding what to do and what not to do about joining covens? What to look for in a good coven? Red flags we should avoid? Thank you! Enjoy your upcoming Summer Solstice!
My heart just fills with joy when I see you’ve posted one of your entertaining and highly informative videos! I always learn something new, not to mention, many of these old traditions and folklore are just so magical and charming- thank you for showing us how to keep them alive and celebrate them the way our ancestors did❤
I make a Sun Wheel to burn in our Coven Bonfire. I also make a spinach pie that is topped with green pastry leaves and made into The Greenman. Lastly, I make a cake drizzled with honey that is in the shape of a beehive.
I love your videos. We have been really dry here in Northern Illinois. Haven’t been able to have a backyard fire in weeks and weeks. 😢. Too dangerous (of course that hasn’t stopped some people but we want to be safe). It is supposed to rain this coming weekend. We are hopeful it does.
In Spain the day of Saint John we burn what we don't want and we jump the bonfires, we make wishes and at midnight we swim in the sea to purify ourselves, it sounds truly magical 😂
In Ukraine we celebrate the summer solstice “Ivana Kupala” with jumping over bonfires. It is believed that if the couple jumps over the fire holding hands without getting burned they will have a great relationship. In the night before Kupala young girls make flower crowns and let them flow down the river, depending on how soon the crown stops at riverside will determine how soon the girl finds her lover. When I was a child, my grandma told me the legends about how on this night the trees speak and if you go to the forest you may find the blooming of the fern that will grant you impossible luck in life. My family though is very Christian and anti-pagan, so it was forbidden for me to learn and participate in pagan celebrations, but now as I am independent it brings me immense joy to revive my cultures traditions and honor the old gods as I've always wanted 🤍🌲🍃
Pick birch leaf and bind a head wreath and pick 7 diffrent flowers and put under the pillow. Eat strawberries and cream. And dance round the maypole a speciell one. And celebrare the🌞and harvest power and the wheat. And some other stange stuff (local suspicious stuff❤️) Love this happy time❣️
I plan on eating icecream, hopefully with my band mates who are sort of my unofficial coven. 🙂 Thank you for sharing your ideas! I love your enthusiasm and humor!
I love your entertaining and informative videos. You have a wonderful smile! 😊 This year, for Litha, I will be able to have a fire in my fire ring. We have had unseasonably heavy rain this year as opposed to last year when we had no rain whatsoever. I haven't been able to have a fire in over a year and a half. Litha blessings to all.
Brilliant vid thank you! I choked on my wine when you said your family pounced on your honey cake like a hoard of gannits 😂 just like my lot 😂 not many days left now, Litha is probably my favourite sabbat, sending you lots of blessings for yours and thank you for your vids ❤
I always make oven cooked meatballs with lots of lavender and rosemary for midsummer. They’re delicious. I dole them out or have a party in the garden. I think I’ll make some amulets with camomile and rosemary this year since my harvest is abundant. And I like your idea of sunbathing my carneols. Thank you.
Beautiful video Ginny, you are always so wise and full of fascinating information! I really love creating a flower essence on the Solstice as well as light a whole bunch if candles and do a tarot spread.
Hello. I tried the Devonshire Honey Cake. OMG! IT IS CRAZY DELICIOUS. Thank you for sharing. Happy Litha! It's rainy here today. But still a lovely day. Had a lovely fire in the garden last night though.
Thank you 💚 very uplifting as always ! ⭐️🧹 I’m casting a Litha circle in my garden.. and love your suggestion of inviting your companions to place the altar candles… l might give the fire pit a miss though… things might get out of hand 😮 Lovely inspirational video 💜⭐️
@@GinnyMetheral I was kinda hoping you knew a spell that called for a solstice birthday person to chant something and it could make us both rich. At least I now know why i am vibrating off the bed at night!
It was my husband having a bonfire in midsummer (!!!!) 120 trees - young ones - died, I feel terrible still. The firemen loved it as it was a big blaze, but easily contained and they got to use all their toys. I have flashbacks of shame all the time.
Great guidance 😊🎉❤
I learnd more in this 10 and a half minutes than the whole school year
Love this! Thank you for sharing your wisdom 😊

I always honour water at this time of year too because it seems to become incredibly important after a week of constant sun ☀️
Would you ever consider writing a book with all your knowledge? That is something most of us here would appreciate.

whoohoo love this time of the year

Wonderful!
Hi I really love the sound of your midsummer incense. Just wondering how you get it to burn, do you mix it with anything? Thank you xx
if everything is dry then it will burn nicely, otherwise mix with some resin (I.e. frankincense or copal)
But Summer has barely arrived this year, the mild summer dream.
Luck and Fire and Radiation.
I was born on the summer solstice. Does this give me any special powers?
You are naturally a high vibrations person I imagine!
@@GinnyMetheral I was kinda hoping you knew a spell that called for a solstice birthday person to chant something and it could make us both rich.

How did you burn down the forest.
You can always put fire in a fire pit or old tin.
But make sure you know how to put it out before you leave it.
