i live in new york city and a colony of pigeons lives outside my window so ill almost definitely see a pigeon first thing on february 14th 😂 very little chance of anything else. possibly a sparrow. im gonna say the pigeons are basically just doves.

Fireworks (bangers) scare away evil spirits. Like you I declutter continuously by recycling, donating or giving away unwanted items .... Imbolc is not a sabbat of neopaganism - it is an ancient festival dating back to pre-Christian Ireland. It is the 2nd of Feb, not the first, though this is often confused because it was traditional to begin celebrating the festivals on the evening before the big day began. The Goddess Brighid in Irish mythology has nothing to do with Spring or Imbolc. Saint Brigid introduced that confusion because the Christians put her feast day on 1st Feb, and the proximity of the dates means many people think of the two days as one event. Brigid is not the Goddess of pregnancy and fertility, she is of poetry, smithcraft and healing. WTF is this "sacred harlot" stuff? Look, this is our actual Irish culture you're butchering, and our myths you are misrepresenting. This is horribly disrespectful.

Always looking forward to your montley almanac videos. Living in Norway, we are a bit behind when it comes to spring. In our old tradition on 2 nd of Februar we only have got half of the snow for the winter. A twig falling on the snow this day, will be in the middle om the snow as it starts to thaw. The first day of spring is on 22 nd. Then the snow starts to thaw around stones, and the snow thaws from both ends, bottom and top. There are lots of old wether divinations on several days in February. As the old religions was different here, we don't have any traditions connected to Brigid. But as we have Alvablot in autumn, perhaps at the the time of Shamhain, and Disablot was in spring I would guess Disablot was what we were celebrating at this time of year. Alvablot is for honouring our male ancectors, and Disablot for our female ancestors.

The cross is Saint Bridget's Cross - the christian cross of the crucifixion. The "cross" of the Goddess was the trinity ie 3, the sacred number of Ireland. The 3 is found everywhere in Irish lore. Bridget, daughter of the Dagda, the triple Goddess. The 3 ancient female names for Ireland: Éire - Banba - Fódla. 3 Druids (male or female) for the 3 crafts: (1) Music (2) Science: ie divination, incantations, charms, curses etc (3) Literature / Bardic lore / Brehon Law / Poetry. There was 3 types of music in ancient Ireland: In Irish Gaelic (1) Gen-traige (gan-tree) inciting laughter, merriment, dance, fun. (2) Gol-traige (gol-tree) expressing sorrow, keening or death tunes, lament. (3) Súan-traigh (suan-tree) lullabies, nursing a child, or a sick person, soothing, to induce sleep. There are many more ............ The Druids did good things of course, but when they wishes to cause harm or serious injury, they would summon the Siabhradh (pronounced: Sheevra) of the sídhe (shee: the fairies) to carry out their intent - while they remained distant .... aloof. The Siabhradh were dangerous, malignant entities. In revenge for King Cormac Mac Art's leaning towards christianity for example, the Druids let loose sheevras against him, who then choked him with the bone of a salmon, while eating his dinner.

My 11yr old had his 25th heart surgery yesterday! On parking at a city hospital, we were greeted by a beautiful Robin singing their heart out! We then knew the surgery was going to be successful! It was! Imbolc was my Mums birthday, we will be honouring her & celebrating life!

Definitely cleaning and purifying my home. Also feeling the "welcoming" vibe of spring and renewal. This time of year always excites me!

I am a Pisces! My husband did pass away several years ago, and I've had 3 eye surgeries in my lifetime. I was once a great drinker, too, but not anymore. I suffered needlessly with shame for several years because of this drinking, but it doesn't plague me today. And of course I have a lovely sense of humor -- i dont think id be here today without it! ❤

Your videos are very informative. And for me its mind blowing to learn how most of the Christian tradtions were actually pagan in root its shocking. Truthfully, I do look forward to whenever you release a new video.
