Being around other happy people can sometimes make you feel good, but if someone experiencing problems with their mental health was told to just be positive and look for the good, it would be confusing for that person. Because if I’m dealing with something that’s making me anxious, I won’t be happy until those things get solved. It’s not about just changing emotions and being happy, it’s about actually looking for effective strategies to solve those problems. That’s what makes you happy when you’re going through bad stuff. But in this case, like with this comment, yes. This girl’s positivity can light up a room. People like that are such good friends to have.

“You are really easy to talk to.” This is my favorite complement 🥰 I always want to have a good impression on others and I don’t have many friends but I can socialize well and a girl wrote this down in my yearbook and it felt amazing. I love people who are fun and inclusive with others. It was nice to be reminded I am that person I wish to surround myself with.

The best compliment to me is when someone compliments me on something I spent time on like “oh your hair looks cute” or “I love your makeup!” Stuff like that I love it or about my personality like “you’re so nice” or just a “you’re so pretty” that makes my confidence go up so much I can’t even explain it-😅
When I here "I love your outfit" or "Your outfit looks good," it just makes me feel good about myself. Especially if I'm skeptical of the outfit and think everyone is going to say I look weird.
Yeah I agree. Some of my friends at school said my skin was glowing and they said it looked nice. At that time I’d started skin care, it really stuck with me and I still think about it. Someone also noticed my naturally long lashes and said they looked amazing, I really appreciated them noticing. Definitely agree! 😁👍🏻😊
as an artist, one of my favourite things is when people complement the stuff ive made. especially when you notice a specific detail i tried really hard on and put of a lot of effort into. its the best and it makes me so so happy

Agree with all of these. A guy co-worker, just a friend but we had a harmless flirtatious connection, once gave me one of my favorite compliments ever. I had just given myself a manicure the day before and my nails looked perfect. Out of nowhere he said you have really beautiful hands. I never forgot the thrill I felt. Not once did my ex-husband ever notice or mention my hands at all.
