Its amazing that even 3/4 into the game Trevor was the only one who went below his starting life total just because everyone was going against his walkers
I saw the command the dreadhoard. However, I looked away for a minute or so and laughed my head off when I saw 40 life across the board as he scooped up.
24:04 "Friends are just opponents you haven't." This is deep man. This was a really fun game to watch. I wish that Trevor would've held back a bit to stay in longer, but the rest of the game was fun!
When Tal animated his lands with Anthousa he couldn't tap them for mana while Linvala, Keeper of silence was on the battlefield because they are now creatures and Linvala also stops mana abilities.
@@NightOfCrystals uninteresting as opposed to turning creatures sideways? What's the challenge in beating down on one player? Even the best decks can't handle this and they clearly didn't see each other as a threat which speaks volumes about the power level
I think it was more because Trevor had board wiped multiple times and it never negatively effected him. He also made an constant enemy of Tal, so Tal dunked on him so he wouldn’t keep losing his lands.
I like how straight forward this channels videos are without trying to be annoyingly quirky. Pretty much just showcasing each others decks which is neat. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for showing me Anthousa, I've always loved land animation and if I play Joreal I get targeted down because they think I'm running land destruction.
But Muddstah, for me the eyecandy has been Ben's hands! :) Besides the superfriends, I enjoyed all other 3 decks! They felt fresh and new to me. Pretty awesome game!
So Ben totally could have flashed in the mind sensor at 8:02 in response to activating marsh flats and denied him the mana for the board wipe saving his much needed draw engine in white.
My before the match thoughts: There's some REAL discrepancy in power levels between these commanders. My post match thoughts: Yup, Archenemy until the Archenemy was dealt with. I had a friend who would build basically cEDH decks to play with our much less powered casual decks. He would get mad when we all ganged up on him. My response was always, "You brought a bazooka to a water gun fight and our only chance was to drown you."
@@onnilattu9138 I'm not saying it was. I was relating a similar story where one deck was obviously stronger than the other three and the only way for any of the others was to take it out, much like what happened in this game.
@@frankieh exactly! My mistake in the group I play with was bringing a powerful and dreaded commander but not playing the "usual" evil build. Tals deck was super interesting, but Ben's deck was the only deck that wasnt very focused past sometimes making a token. I say that deck needs a smothering tithe to give him a chance to have more mana to cast cheap creatures to make more tokens. He also shouldnt cast his commander so late in game. It's fine if oketra dies, just have a draw engine to pick it up off the third card off the top of library.
I'm wondering about how you guys view cEDH? The powerlevel of all your videos seem pretty consistent even though i can see you guys own the cards to make games way more spikey and competitive. Are you keeping your games at a certain level on purpose?
Anyone else notice the misplay where homeboy was equipping Linvala even though she had swiftfoot boots on, and no other creature to move it to thus making it an illegal play?
@@onnilattu9138 Yeah, my superfriends deck tends to get teamed up on quite a bit as well. I tend to win with Doubling Season + Tamiyo or the new Lili to ult and blow up everybody's stuff. It's fairly scripted, though. Certainly isn't hyper-competitive or anything, though.
Ian Flannery I built a Thantis (Jund) Superfriends deck inspired by a Commander Clash episode. Most of the walkers I use either provide a token for protection, help ramp, or act as removal. The creatures act as shields while the walkers grind value, with Thantis doing good work protecting them. It is a fun and different take on Supefriends 😁
*Hopefully this has fixed the major sound issue with the background music. I don't want to have to re-re-upload it =(*
Sounds good!
It's fine now... I can actually hear the narration this time.
I was hearing it just fine before. But thank you for fixing it so quickly for others!
It's perfectly fine now. Thanks a lot!
But your Last Sentence in cut
Tal had one of the most original ideas for a commander deck I've seen in a long time. Great example of why this format is the best format.
cannot agree more!
Old response but his deck instantly made me also build her and it's the most fun I've had with a deck
Tal learned Mel Li's way of fighting: if you don't have permanent removal, try player removal.
Its amazing that even 3/4 into the game Trevor was the only one who went below his starting life total just because everyone was going against his walkers
That’s what I hate about superfriends
I think it was because of command the dread hoard really

Tal's deck made my day i have been working on a "landmander" deck for just nonstop animating lands
When Tal animated his lands with Anthousa he couldn't tap them for mana while Linvala, Keeper of silence was on the battlefield because they are now creatures and Linvala also stops mana abilities.
yeah, that's a big deal too. he cant really float mana either because those lands became animated just before damage
I bet Matt is going to be really happy about the Painter's servant unban.
Phase 1: Archenemy
Phase 2: Regular Game
This is what happens when you pull out a $3000 superfriends deck.

I'm impressed by Tal's Anthousa deck. I hadn't thought that card was good in Commander.

very cool seeing anthousa! also seeing atraxa taken out first, as she should be

Thanks for the turn counter. Everyone should have that.
Dude, that Terminus play was sweet
I really like the overview play by play narration. Fantastic.
I really liked Tal’s deck tbh. I’ll have to build something like it eventually.
That music spike in volume sure was startling, glad to see you caught it quickly. Was a cool game to watch, and I always love seeing mono-color decks.
That into gets me every time, the pure anger I feel when I hear that alarm is scary

Lmaoooooo nice.
Nice to see mono white decks holding their own! Good game! 😀
THANK YOU for fixing the sound I couldn't hear you at all

At least until rotation

Friends are just opponent who haven't.
Fun to see anthousa's deck. Pretty interesting
Grrrr, so many times I watch specific games to see a particular deck, and the ONE decklist missing is the one I want.....lol
It takes some serious cojones to cast Extraplanar Lens when you're stuck on three lands.

Nice game. I prefer Jolrael over Anthousa, sadly no one play with her in this channel =/

excellent choice of cards in these decks! really like the match-up ;-D
