Well said. Strange she didn't achieve more in TV and feature films. In the acting department she wasn't Meryl Streep, but she did a competent job. The commercials couldn't have been that much of a stigma. Lea Thompson and Elizabeth Shue did a ton of ads before movies, but they've had very good careers.
According to additional data, JoAnna died October 15th, 2021, but her death wasn't announced until the 22nd. Evidently, she was born in 1948, instead of 1951.-- but I'm hardly holding a little fib about her age against her memory.

We all Gen Xers crushed on her as kids when she played ISIS. She did indeed have this naturally soothing voice that made people want to listen to her. Which made people want to buy products she did commercials for and made kids listen when Isis would give the "lesson learned" each week.
I always knew she was gorgeous from Isis, but learned more after she died. She quit acting to become a home health nurse for a decade, then in marketing for hotels. My mom did home health, and it is a selfless, grueling career, but very rewarding emotionally. She probably switched to marketting as it is a back killer. Turns out she was 73 (Sep 1948 - Oct 2021), but some media still showing her age as 70. She sounds like she was the whole package-caring, intelligent, productive, and a breathtaking beauty on top of all that!
The first time that I ever remember seeing her, she was in a Movie of the Week pertaining to the Miss America Pageant. She played Miss Oklahoma and won. I was about 8 or 9 years old & from Oklahoma, so that stuck in my memory.
Also sad to see that the poster of this video, Grant Conroy, who was the source of so many pictures of Joanna Cameron on the net, passed away in late November. His obituary is on Legacy.
On her way home from Merv she was cut off and forced onto the median and her car quickly caught on fire. Luckily Erik Estrada was close by on his motorcycle and pulled her out seconds before her car burst into a huge explosion.
She is stunning. I remember watching her show as a little kid in Australia. I hadn't seen her face for forty years but it was immediately familiar because her beauty was imprinted in my mind. A shame that she didn't have kids and pass on those genes.
I fell in love with her watching all the 70's Columbo episodes. I wasn't interested in the show until a girlfriend turned me on to it in about 1997. I fell head over heels for Columbo and went on to watch every 70's episode to death. Joanna Cameron was in the episode called, "Negative Reaction" with Dick Van Dyke as the murderer. She is so yummy-gorgeous in that, that I still haven't fully recovered. That right there is the most physically perfect woman I have ever seen; my ideal in every way. But she never calls me! haha
I saw her first in that movie and was instantly leashed by her fantastic legs. And it should be the only appearance of her what I should see for decades, because nothing else of her was ever shown in my country. First with using youtube I found much more about her. Appollonia reminds me of her she was first before Vanity and Apollonia they have simular looks. Vanity was my teen crush She and Wonder Woman was my preteen crushes.
That might have been her agent's / manager's / publicist's insistence she shave a few years off; or, perhaps her vanity for self-preservation in the reality of the dog-eat-dog world of Hollywood habitually tossing aside actresses when they reach 30.
@@scvandy3129 True, but she was a home health nurse for 10 years after acting, which'll break your back! I know, my mom was a home health nurse, and needed back surgery from it.
