Agile body and mind most important.
My daily walk the dog EDC runs about 25 pounds. Water is the first big item, then it is mostly a bunch of small stuff. I've used most of it at one time or another. It is great exercise to wear a pack while being pulled to the next great scent by a large hunting dog. Since retiring I'm down 70 pounds, my balance has improved, my blood pressure and A1c are great and even better looking. We are on a pace for 1,100 miles this year, up from 925 last year. Highly recommended. And it gets me out of my wife's hair for two or three hours a day. Retirement is great. Also gardening, musician, other hobbies, household chores.

Regarding your "boxing blade". In a defensive situation I'd want that blade facing the other way, more like a traditional karambit. The primary reason is that in most defensive boxing stances (or if you end up on the ground) that blade is going to be closer to your own eye, temple, and throat than your opponent's. A slightly stronger opponent, or one who simply uses two-hands-to-one, or even just someone who gets lucky, will have your own blade in you sooner than you'd like. With the blade facing the other way, it becomes nearly impossible for the blade to be redirected towards anything too lethal on your own body (most likely leg at best). The slight angle of your blade isn't enough to make this untrue. Spar with a rubber knife to see how often it ends up against you. Furthermore, I would not want to risk my fingers on a folding blade, especially not one that doesn't open a full 180 degrees. The leverage against what is effectively a tinfoil lock on the blade isn't enough for me to trust. So a fixed karambit facing the other way is a better choice. Disclaimer, I live in Canada where I have no right to defend myself anyway. But if I did, that would be my advice. :-)

Mr Lovell, several times I have seen you with a silencer. ( I think on the MP compact?) Anyway, I have been looking at the Silencer Central "Banish 22" suppressor because they are VERY quiet, do everything for you in an easy package, and not outrageously expensive. What you you like? Thanks.

Defiant Munitions is pretty awesome stuff. I know the owner Small shop, former Law Enforcement also raised in the ammo industry so the guy knows his ballistics. I trust it in edc vs a huge company way more.

Those are my favorite Solomons too. The only issue is the tread wears out way too quick. But thanks again John been following you for many many years now and you’re still one of my favorites. Congrats to your success.

Federal HST has been my carry load for years now. Never heard of that ammo company before I’ll have to check them out. Lately I have been hand-loading my own defense ammo using Buffalo bore recipes.
I know someone will chime in and say something about the legality of it but honestly if I’m using the same exact brass, bullets, primers and powder, no one could possibly know the difference.

I carry a small knife that has a fingernail file and awl on my Keychain. Can't tell you how many times I've used that. I also have a slim whistle, can opener and small ferro rod (all on my keychain). Always pays to have backups, especially if they're small enough not to get in the way.

Hey John. When you showed off your keys to the camera, I would be a bit more careful than that. It's pretty easy to take any picture of a key and 3d print it. There have been cases of people taking pictures of keys through the window, 3d printing them, and breaking into people's houses using those keys. Key sheaths is one way of deterring that kind of crap, but the more important thing is to remember that locks only keep honest people out.

I hate carrying a bunch of keys. I have a separate set of keys for each vehicle to minimize how many are on the ring. Keys for hitches and bike racks and padlocks etc I store inside the vehicle. The most I ever want on the ring is vehicle fob, key, house key and mailbox key.

I'm a small time custom holster manufacturer. I made an AIWB sidecar holster that I carry the Sig XTen in every single day. That thing disa-freaking-pears under just a T shirt. Not to knock T1C. I'm also 5 foot 10 and weigh 145lbs. Small frame kinda dood.

John, can you please elaborate on the T1C holsters more? T1C doesn’t make one for the CR920 and does not recommend using the 43X versions. Mainly on the Axis Elite due to the mag pouch not being designed for the proprietary SS magazine.
Also for what it’s worth, I have an Axis Elite for my MR920 and the click retention was terrible, they said it’s a problem with the skinny trigger guard on all SS so they sent me a TLR-7A version so it would use the friction on the light instead.

The newest CPR does not have someone give breathing during CPR. I talked to a fire fighter about this, he told me, and this seems to track, that the oxygen in the air is only about 32%, when giving breaths it is actually less, so it doesn't help much doing so. Circulating the blood is more vital, and the compression of CPR actually moves air in and out.

John, in light of the Nashville tragedy....Could you/would you do a video on WPSN or youtube on how to prepare children or how you have prepared your children to face a threat or what to do if they ever where in the vicinity of a shooting? I have 3 young warriors that I am raising. I want to make sure they are prepared for an intense situation & coach them through the steps to get to safety.
One of the items I feel is how to get a person no matter the age to move off the X & think critically in the midst of crisis & chaos. How to do this with children?
I appreciate your content & heart behind your material. Keep up the good work. - Thank you
P.S. I am glad you were able to reinstate all the corners of your man card after shaving your beard off. Welcome back ... I kid, I kid

@WarriorPoetSociety North American Rescue and American Heart Association no longer recommend mouth to mouth during CPR. I recently learned this in a CPR refresher through work, even though I was always taught mouth to mouth in between chest compressions. You can ditch the CPR mask if you want!

just crank out those chest compressions, 100 to 120 BPM until your arms give out, then five more minutes.
