I'm surprised Honda left enough room in those arches to fit 295's as used by the J's racing showcase car. That's WTF sized rubber, especially for this sort of car. It feels to me like the engineers/designers and Honda in general are the most genuine motorsports enthusiast entity left in the mass production automotive industry, as a unit. A single design element such as this, allowing that much flexibility when every inch of space is an opportunity for dirty speculation in today's broken corporate environment gives me reason to respect the people at the helm of that company. Credit given where credit due.

If you're into modifying it the platform still has that tuner focus that cars buried in plastic panels lack. Open the bonnet and it's all there. And the put the turbo at the front. Not between the firewall on European cars.

Spoon- 8kg front and rear (450lb) J’s Racing- 10kg (560lb) front and 14kg (785lb) rear Cusco- 16kg (900lb) front and 14kg (785lb) rear The softer spring rate on Spoon definitely seems to favour the undulating surface at Gunsai. More compliance and travel. The other cars seem to be set up for track, and using a very stiff rear to help the front turn in without understeer.

The chassis’s are quite noticeably different and the suspension geometry on the FK8 is far superior to that of the Si’s and standard hatchbacks. I came from owning a 18 Si to now a 21 Type R and it would definitely take the cost difference between the two cars to make an Si compete with a stock type r.
