I'm surprised Honda left enough room in those arches to fit 295's as used by the J's racing showcase car. That's WTF sized rubber, especially for this sort of car. It feels to me like the engineers/designers and Honda in general are the most genuine motorsports enthusiast entity left in the mass production automotive industry, as a unit. A single design element such as this, allowing that much flexibility when every inch of space is an opportunity for dirty speculation in today's broken corporate environment gives me reason to respect the people at the helm of that company. Credit given where credit due.

More compliance and travel. The other cars seem to be set up for track, and using a very stiff rear to help the front turn in without understeer.
J's Racing said " Until this autumn, we are going to make a more intense version to go higher level. We will bring it." Spoon said " We will take a new approach. At this moment, we cut off VSC. But we are going to use VSC and trying to find how we could optimize VSC to make a totally balanced FK8." Cusco said " Our priority is not the engine but suspensions and LSD. We are going to make a well balanced car with them. So we are developing now."
The chassis’s are quite noticeably different and the suspension geometry on the FK8 is far superior to that of the Si’s and standard hatchbacks. I came from owning a 18 Si to now a 21 Type R and it would definitely take the cost difference between the two cars to make an Si compete with a stock type r.
