Focus - Britain's ruling coalition is ploughing ahead with its austerity programme, and its latest measure is proving particularly divisive. Since mid-July, the government has gradually implemented a 'benefits cap' - meaning a single person cannot receive more than 400 euros per week, and a couple only 580 euros. The majority of Britons are in favour of the move, but some are struggling to cope.

kids are expensive and if u can't afford them don't rely on benefits
So what's your answer for the thousands how have lost jobs and still have children to car for should thay be given to the state as slaves as no one seems to mind paying the large cost to put a child in state care facility wich I can assure you costs much more

That idea that the more kids you have the more money you should get is a vicious spiral. Here in the US, where people churn our children as soon as they can menstruate and continue for generations pumping up our welfare populations to the red zone is the downfall of the US. This country is at breaking level where i fear of not capped will start seeing children starving on the street and nothing can be done. Start by understanding that the number of children you have directly affects your financial situation.

Not even Born in England I cannot believe this. Don't have children if you cannot take care of them - This is why I moved to America

@@LIK64lies. Us has always had caps. For cash assistance you can only receive that for 5 years. If you receive housing you have to have income. If you don't have income you don't qualify for for housing. Food assistance you have you work atleast 20 hours a week. You also have to put the other parent that's not helping with the children on child support. Also you have to take a drug test before you get accepted for for any assistance.
@@LIK64now, there are some ppl that do take advantage that's a given but they don't make it easy for you to sit and do nothing while collecting benefits. Oh and if you get cash assistance you have to take educational classes too. They make it like this because ppl would rather just work and not go through the hoops and hurdles to get assistance.

That man is responsible for his kids and no one else. However there are freeloaders to think that the rest of the world is supposed to support them. It's simple you don't work you don't eat, if you put nothing in you get nothing out.
I’m glad the benefits cap came in. Why the couple in the beginning were allowed to be unemployed and do nothing but have 9 children is beyond me.

If couples had to pay for there kids families wouldn't be so big. I would have loved more kids but I couldn't because I couldn't afford them. I know a woman who got pregnant because she wanted a house, she was sick of her small apartment.

What about the pensioners pay into the system all their lives and get sod all back, yet people churn out one kid after another they get money they get their rent paid they get help with everything they have never paid towards the system in any way yet reap all the rewards, pensioners get help with nothing, how fair is that.

I thought that if you are on Job Seekers allowance, you have to actively look for work and prove that you are looking for work.

My Food, Rent And Disability Support Has To Come From That. And Any Extra Medication I Need To Buy. Plus. I Need A Private Bodyscan As I Cannot Go In A NHS MRI Scanner.
