Here are some quick specs that we missed in the video: $43,000 MSRP for the model shown, it is 77" wide, and the Bandit has the shortest wheelbase at 95".
Should’ve put it on the scales. We’ve seen the EL Jefe weighed and it’s more then then the 4 seat Pro R. Other things to mention is the bolts are shouldered and most of the hardware is sized so only a small number of sockets and wrenches is needed to remove. I’m surprised you guys didn’t talk about the structural design of the cage vs other OEM’s as the cage on the Speed makes the others look like toys.
Great content and keep up the great work!! One thing to note: in the “Speed New Vehicle Training” video they note the full power for the UTV will not be available until the oil temps are above 177 degrees. Might want to confirm this and if true, warm it up and re-run the dyno pulls again if it wasn’t up to temp.
Wheel base is actually 96 now. Also, the car won't make full power unless the oil temp is around 168 and above. I have a Bandit and it's hard to keep it warm enough here in TN. Thank you for the content and please keep the verbiage as clean as possible for the family.
Was looking forward to this one. I liked the general walk around. I had originally thought the 3 speeds was sequential, which would have been another innovative thing to experiment with. I can see why not for transmission safety, but to be able to switch Low-Hi-Speed on the go would be pretty cool. Not a fan of the cheesy RADIO.JPG decals. Even a insert that read "Co-Driver screen" and "radio" would have been better than a photo. The Dyno run looked pretty good considering how close it came to the Pro R with less cylinders and a spinny thing. I really like the wheelbase on that Baja, it's slightly "Turba-S" stance. I think if there was a less wide option for the wood fighters it would open the markets more, but being new they cant saturate things too much right now. Overall nice rig. Glad you got a chance to experience it. Maybe time to talk to RG and get entered to race one somewhere.
Yes you can shift on the fly. They are dog gears so you need to know how to do it and practice. And if you damage the gears because you were shifting on the fly and messed up they won't cover it under warranty. It's a play at your own risk thing.
Watched your review of the Speed UTV . You remember the Wildcat.XX that suspension in that is very Similar to the Speed UTV . I believe Robby Gordon wanted the Wildcat.XX to be more like his creation but Artic Cat only went with what they built t
Super nice overview of the speed utv. Very impressive. Only thing I'm not feeling is the oil site tube in the wheel well. I feel like it's susceptible to damage
Great video boys 👏 i am extremely excited to see more of this machine here soon on the channel there has been so much hype and bashing of this machine and robby so id really like to see a real rip of this thing
From the cheap seats I have to say I haven't been impressed with Speed UTVs... But this is probably the best video promotion of all time from anyone- including Speed! Well done.
@951prerun has it really came?! 🤣🤣... are they allowed to talk about them yet? No... no public speed key use allowed either. Yeah pal it's out alright!
Look at the center line and the way they laid. That system out one axle for each corner, instead of having to carry 2, the engine mountain, the back can carry an L.S motor this was a well-thought-out machine.I just not sure about the belt drive. What do you guys think
I would love to know what that thing was out the door w/ all the options. Super great review, nice to see you guys disect it. They sound so terrible though. Needs an aftermarket exhaust. I hope they get out and make some good competition for the big hitters, and that RG stops getting so defensive anytime someone has critques.
I was trying to figure out why you werent brutally honest about it like you were the mav r and i realized its your buddies car. What bugs me most about the hisun/speed compared to other UTVs besides it sounding like a lawnmower is that it doesnt look like a normal production utv it looks like a kit car.
Speed has no doubt got the attention of the consumer and the big 2 manufacturers with this beast. I like it, and with seat options I'm sure a La-Z-Boy option is on the horizon.
Funny seeing you guys geek out on what is essentially a wildcat xx thats been built to race. Put one next to the speed car and you'll see. Don't get me wrong the Speed rigs are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better then a xx but they did take alot from the xx
Very cool machine. I know y'all don't like the XX but there's so many similarities to the XX. It's literally a heavily updated XX in so many ways. For the money I say it's a much better value than the Pro R or Maverick R.
Did you guys see the Polaris drone strike vehicle? I didn't know anything about it till the channel "NotWhatYouThink" did a short on it. Doubt you can coerce the military to let you drive it, but just thought I'd make a mention to the SXS boys, just in case you missed it. It's sick.
Very sweet ride!! Awesome break down too guys. The only thing I see from here that’s kinda odd & maybe a lil goofy is the decal on the glovebox. Kinda like Steve said about the kicker decal, looks like Walmart stuff on a super hot ride. Love the car tho, wish I had 1 lol
They designed them to shift on the fly. They tell you not to so as to avoid you not knowing how to operate the machine and breaking it during the warranty period. I’d try shifting it on the fly if it were me
Dynos are crazy complicated to explain but Yes in theory a smaller tire diameter should give a higher power reading but not always in practice. The dyno is measuring the inertia of the drum AND the wheel/tyre but can't differentiate between the two. By reducing the rotational mass and moment in the wheel you effectively transfer more measurable power into the drum. The difference is only going to be small, a couple of percent maybe though. Also the reason it may not actually work in practice is that a smaller tyre reduces the gear ratio so loads the engine less. Particularly on turbo engines the lower load may cause the engine to actually deliver less power to the wheels in the first place.
my old truck had over sized tires when i got it like 31s so i put 215 on truck and it would get to 55 mph almost 2x faster than with 31 inch tires.@@KR15ING
If it's on pump gas it's 225 no matter if it's normal key or speed key. You only get the 300 if you have the speed key running full E85 with top end lube. It has a flex full sensor so it will adjust to the mix of pump and E85. But again only with the speed key.
These cars are great but they do have there flaws , first thing need to cut the inner clamps off the rear cv’s there too tight and suck in rip boots , the jam nuts come loose they need some lock tight and some good effort , you’ll find the issues just like any other car
Clutch cover is what scares me. Those bearings are going to get stuck in the cover, imagine a belt exploding and pieces getting stuck in those bearings and not being able to pull the cover off
What they’re missing because they’re kinda haters is this a first attempt machine. Do you remember the Razor 800? If Robbie keeps improving it the others don’t stand a chance.
Im just wondering why they go carbon and lightweight at many points, just to make things like lightbarmounts and a windshield out of glas in a... not very lightweight way. They could have saved a bit of additional weigh here and there surely 😅
the wheel is genius if you bust the drum or the face your just replacing one piece not both and for racing i would imagine that would put you back on the trail faster
No, the gear selection works more like a transfer case than a transmission. You need to change gears while stopped or barely moving. A few people have mentioned you can shift while driving though if you're good at rev-matching, but the owner's manual says not to.

Do 25 k can get a 2 seat 1000 with race gas tune and turbo also do clutches 95 mph plus
Are you sure it is 77" wide ? Bandit LE should be just 72" wide.
Finally a group of dudes that know what they are talking about, doing a review of a new machine to the market. Good job!!!
Doug behind the camera is just right. Great video guys!
You couldn't get a better bunch of guys to go over this ride 😊
Love listening to Matt... like a kid in a candy store covering the accessories, options, and buttons.

The shocks are 3.25. Same shocks, Robby runs on his trophy truck. The shocks are Robby's designed shocks.
Looks like Robby used a lot of the ideas he had put into the Wildcat xx. The whole rear suspension and engine cradle and engine orientation.
Give us more speed videos!
OK OK...Boys are getting their groove back. It's definitely a cool machine.
"Seen something similar on a powerwheel at walmart" 😂
Like how the ip display tilts with the steering wheel is a great touch
Cool breakdown. Mike looking good man.
You can sum it up in one word "bad ass", 😂😂😂. I love you guys. Watching you guys feels like hanging with friends.
“In the comic book, right next to the sea monkeys “ 😂😂 Justin u da man
How does that possibly make someone “da man”
I like it. BUT that oil level sight glass deal looks super vulnerable!
Thine 110 shall be maintained!
I absolutely love my Speed #149 EL JEFE! Cadillac off road and the faster you go the smother it gets!!!!!
That dry sump system been around years , oil circulates via scavenge pump the bulk oil away from engine keeps cooler and more capacity .

What did they say that hurt your feelings?
That front diff scares me, what happens when you rip the A arm ears off in a crash, you now have to buy and entire front diff
Sway bar bolts have already ripped out on some
Would you rather replace a diff housing or a frame?
@@Freemaniac38 you can weld washers onto a frame and repair it. Good luck fixing cast aluminum
@Freemaniac38 if it was all chassis mounted it wouldn't break at all🤷♂️

This is what the XX was supposed to be. Say what you will, but Robby has a lot of good ideas and it’s nice to see many of them transfer over
That things looks good!! Ima have to look into the Speed for the next unit. Hopefully they figured out the transmission issues
Hi guys love what you all do please keep it coming!!
Also, you actually can shift on the fly between 1,2 and 3. It just has to be done at specific RPM
I don’t know how much they go for but as much as y’all put into your sxs to get it to this level I think you should get a few
According to website, 35-50k+ depending on extras.
Seems like ppl have plenty of disposable income or just alot of credit?
Time will tell how strong the front bulk head really is.
Robby runs the same design on his 4wd Trophy Truck.
that dyno run was with out the speed key that may affect the power
Oil temp has to be up to 170 or its limiting boost. Also it’s clutched for both tunes.
I like it, if i was in the market i would get one. Unfortunately im a commenor and still paying my 2021 x3 off!😂

It's designed after a trophy truck for racing
@vossman5 last time I checked trophy trucks don't sound like lawnmowers and trophy trucks aren't made in China/Veitnam.
XX also has a quick release cover like that. Definitely miss that aspect now that I have a Pro Xp
Was the Dyno pull in 3 rd gear or 2nd? Curious to see the numbers difference HP
