Wow... You saved me a few hours of trying random video and photos programs and apps. This is super clear, concise, and answered ALL of my questions.

Now that I am teaching on my own, I thought it would be easy to reach back and use Powerpoint again. 12 years is a long time and I forgot how to make Transitions and other things in PowerPoint. Thanks. Glad I considered watching a video for a moment - haven't used Powerpoint in years. (People still use Powerpoint?!) But needed a quick picture slideshow and didn't have any better slideshow software on this computer. Had I not watched the video, I'd have been working an extra hour, adding images one frame at a time.
This video has made my life so much easier today! Thank you. I had to scan in so many images, crop, and save them again so I was just looking for an easier way to make a slideshow because I wanted to add some text, sound, etc. Powerpoint was the best option but bringing in one by one was going to be a bummer. This was an excellent tutorial for me to create a picture slideshow for my uncle's funeral. Thank you! I had the transitions last 2.5 secs and the slide time set for 4.5 secs for a total of 7 secs per slide 👍 I exported it as a video to send to my church.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your tutorial was very well done. It went slowly enough and your camera work made it easy to see what you were doing and clicking. My only suggestion would be to tell people you can "download" (not sure this I'd the correct term)...but create you slides (off to the left) and then move slides around to place them in the order you want. I discovered this and it is much faster than trying to do it in the small box with little pictures. Again, thank you.

Thank you! Your video showed me exactly what I needed to do to set up the same transition & slide duration for all of the slides. The other answers I saw pointed me to recording timing for the slides manually and I did not want to have to do that.

Comment at 6 minutes: If a photo is landscape but has the letterboxes on the sides, it's because the height is too large compared to its length. Instead of stretching that image to eliminate the letterbox, I'd just crop off some of the water in the foreground until the aspect ratio was appropriate, then drag from a corner to resize it to fit.
Also, there's an option for "random" as a transition. If you click this for "Apply to All," each slide will have a different transition. My elementary students were more entertained by that than the actual photos.
Excellent explanation, even a toddler or chimp would have no problem following along with you. Bravo to you sir.

Thank you so much for the concise, easy way to do a slideshow. It works like a dream. I would add one thing that took me a while to figure out. If you wish to rotate an image (or other edit) you must first check the box for that image, then the options are there, when you are done, un-check the box! Then you can go on thru each image. ie. you cannot have more than one box checked to rotate or perform any other little edit. Maybe you could add that littlle tip if it's possible to edit your video. Makes sense, but it took me a while. thanks again!

Great info, with ONE EXCEPTION: Please do NOT use the side handles to stretch the images! You have two other options: CROP, which allows you to choose the specific area of the image you want on your slide, and SCALE, which would allow the photo to fit off the edges of slide. Neither of these options would DISTORT the image like stretching with side handles does.
How do you do those options ?
