Here's Why the LARQ Auto-Purifying Water Bottle is Better Than I Expected

LARQ Inc. has produced a great water bottle that purifies using UVC technology. I'm not equipped to judge the claim of microorganisms evaporating from the bottles UV light, but I am judging the look, feel, cool-factor and usability of the LARQ water bottle. Great review. My husband bought me one and I’m excited to have it. I often use ice in my water. Does the LARQ bottle purify the ice cubes/crystals (the solid water) in the bottle, too?

I don’t think so, the ice cubes will probably block the uv light from reaching the water. I would simply not use ice, or put the water in first, purify it, then put in the ice cubes.

Hearing you saying it has a metal taste scares me. Which is why I stick to glass water bottles. But mine break or cleaning glass water bottles is time consuming. I did order this larq. Idk if I'll enjoy it bc of that metal taste. I use to use yeti tumblers and other steel cups and didn't like how it made the water taste.

Can I drink tab water in a country where it's not recommended, when I purify it with this bottle?? That's my only concern really as I want to stop using plastic bottles.🌏🌿🍀

Thanks for the kind words. So far it’s been about a few weeks and I do like it. I definitely now prefer it psychologically over a normal bottle. I can’t say why but after doing the research on UVC I am inclined to believe that water from this bottle is just that much cleaner than not. I’ll get back to you (hopefully by the time all this craziness is over) in a few months and let you know if anything changes

How long it many uses before it does not work anymore? There's another one on the market called " CrazyCaps" $69. Which one is better? . It can fits 3 different size bottles. I love the concept but it's not cheap. 🇨🇦🍁

I think you should clarify what exactly you were measuring in those three glasses? you say "I was measuring the wrong thing" but the picture gives the impression that this bottle is not doing its job. Looks like a "fake facts" video with unclear message.

Hi ! Great review but I don’t understand the part where you decided to compare filtered water, tap water and the water that comes from the LARQ bottle ? Can you explain it more please ?

Hey! thank you for the kind words. At first i assumed that filtering and purifying are the same thing. The way i found that out was by checking the filtration using a PPM meter where the results did not change even when the larq bottle performed its purifying job. In doing this i realized that i had to do a little more digging as i was unfairly measuring the larq on a metric it does not claim to improve. so, the final outcome is that while PPM measures particulate matter in the water, the LARQ is performing a UVC purification cycle to kill microbes. so if you have a filtration problem, the larq bottle will not be able to filter the water further using its UVC cap. does that make sense?

You don’t want to drink very much colloidal silver. It is made with silver and distilled water in a generator. I have all of that and I make it. You don’t want to exceed 1-2 oz. Per day. This bottle just purifies the water.
