Another fun quilt made easy by your great teaching method, Donna! A few weeks ago I stopped by your shop (I stayed at Buona Sera Inn so I was nearby), and the first thing I noticed was the street sounds; they're exactly the same as when you start your videos! It may seem silly, but it was very exciting just sitting in the parking lot outside your shop. One of your sweet ladies came outside to see what I needed, and when I mentioned I was on the last leg of my 3000 mile road trip and that Jordan Fabrics was a special stop, she apologized that the retail store wasn't yet open, but she brought me out a beautiful Jordan Fabrics mug. I enjoy my evening decaf every night with that mug! I'm looking forward to my next road trip and visiting your store again and maybe even meeting all of you in person. Many thanks to you, Matt, James, and all the staff for making every encounter with Jordan Fabrics a magical one!
Donna, this is so very beautiful. I love the simplicity that looks VERY elaborate. YOU teach so well. Thank you for sharing this with us 🎉😊✂️🪡🧵🙏💖🤟🍀🦓✨Liz
You might find it even easier to line up if you tape the paper template to the bottom of the ruler rather than the top. That 1/8” thickness can distort things a bit if you have it on top.
I'd like to see a collaboration between Donna, Jen at Shabby Fabrics and Jenny at Missouri Star Quilt Co. They would choose a pattern and each quilter make it her own way & her own colors.
Your videos are so inspiring, don't waste any time, and only include what we need to know. Thank you and Matt for creating these videos - they are a legacy for the future.
Great video! I must confess; I didn't have high hopes with the pattern together with kaffe's designs. And wow! It works! Also a huge shout out to your son and his fabulous filming and editing skills!! No one does it better than James! Thanks for the best quilting vids on the web!
Great tip to take the triangle to the ruler - also liked using the background for border. Thank you for the ironing tips, they are very helpful. You're an amazing instructor!
After doing a double pinwheel quilt I am ready to do something from kaffee. Love love this, thanks for another awesome inspiration!!!! You are my favorite teacher of tutorials.if only you were a little closer to missouri !!!
@@heathertomlinson1961 if you cut the ones you don't like into smaller than fat 1/4 do you think you still wouldn't like them? Or once they're all cut and put together you still wouldn't like them? I've never been wild about his either and only have some, not a lot. I'm Melba, my husband started the Facebook page and I use it instead of having another one to keep up with 🙄.
@@maldridge1311 I figure once I get enough scraps, I'll use them and the fat quarters I'm not fond of to make an ugly quilt for one of the homeless shelters or the women's resource center. I've done that before, but never with a pieced top. Mine is a family of whole-cloth/hand quilters. Breaking into piecing tops instead of drawing and quilting a design on a large piece of fabric is the new thing for me. LOL
Thank you SO much for showing how to use those little paper templates on a ruler. It seemed obvious when you did it, but using it that way never occurred to me before-brilliant!
I noticed that the pattern promotes a template for cutting the blocks but the method you showed is as efficient, I think. I also thought about snowballing the corners but then you have the waste unless you turn those cutoffs into HST's for another project or as part of the border or even on the backing. Thanks to all at Jordan Fabric - I am in awe of the inventory that we can see!
Beautiful quilt! I like that you showed some of the long arm quilting…I would really like you to spend a few minutes showing the actual quilting. It’s really fascinating watching it.
I really like your videos. The tips help me in my quilting, especially finger pressing seams. I never did that until I watched one of your videos. Makes pressing easier
LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!! Pretty print and great pattern to show off the colorfu l fabric . And the template raped to the ruler?? 😯😉 Who knew!!! Thanks so much!!
I always enjoy your videos. You do a nice job on the video as well as the project. You always make me feel like I can do whatever quilt that you are teaching. You make it look fun and easy. I want to try them all. Thanks for sharing your talent with the world and especially with me.
Taping the template to the ruler; genius! Donna, I want to rave about what an inspiration and marvelous teacher you are not to mention your incredible “eye” and taste level! Before I started watching your videos I was dabbling in small quilted pieces that were mediocre at best. After discovering your channel about 4 years ago I have made about a dozen of your quilts (of course the patterns and a lot of the fabric came from Jordan Fabrics) and a few of my own design; all beautiful. I am grateful for all you share, thank you!
Great pattern... your color choices are lovely, too. I've ordered the pattern and will choose material with large print designs. Even though Kaffe fabric designs are beautiful, I usually I don't gravitate toward them because of the larger designs. Thanks you for doing this tutorial showing how nice they look done up in larger pieces in a block. Blessings to y'all.
I am watching your videos from northern Canada. I love this pattern . It works beautifully with the fabric and really showcases the Kaffe designs. When I started quilting 3 years ago your tutorials were the first ones I watched and learned from. It was the best choice that I ever made. I am very grateful for your help through your videos. Thank you .
I’m not crazy about Kaffe Fasset only because his fabrics are so busy, although I love the colors. This is the first time I’ve seen a quilt that matches the fabric. Love, love love it.
Love the way it turned out & perfect name. I think you saved alot of fabric by not doing a stitch & flip. I see a lot of people using that method then trying to use the triangles so not to waste them. Thank you.
Even though I'm not a big Kaffe Fassett fan, this fat quarter bundle is beautiful. Great tip on how to use the triangle template. Thanks for another great tutorial. I love this quilt! Happy Quilting!!
Beautiful color combo. I especially like the dark border with the light border and binding.

You are a genius, Donna! I never would have thought about taping that template to the ruler.
I learned this years ago in a class! Really comes in handy :)

I'm not a Kaffe person, but this is a perfect pattern for these fabrics. Thank you!
I'm not fond of Jaffe fabrics either, but yeah it does look fabulous. 👍
I have some stripes of Kaffee fabrics 😊
I have one of the fat quarter bundles but only like about half of them and still haven't figured out what to do with the others.

This is gorgeous with the Kaffe Fassett fabric. I love that it only uses 12 fat quarters.
Love this pattern with the Kaffe prints!
Hello Pamela
Love Kaffee Faset...and this is an awesome pattern for his fabric
Thank you SO much for showing how to use those little paper templates on a ruler. It seemed obvious when you did it, but using it that way never occurred to me before-brilliant!
I love Kaffe fabrics, but I've only made 2 quilts from his stuff. They remind me of Hawaii!!! Also, I love your dress, Donna!
Donna thank you for the tip of taping the template.Much better than making a template and saves on fabric, time.
Love your tutorials, every one I pick up a little tip to make things easier. Thank you.
