I love the way these guys all play differently, with their unique personalities. I watch a million blues-rock jams on youtube where all the guitar players sound exactly alike.
Redds massive hands can clobber those notes!!!....all legends ....so much to learn from these guys...!!!...this should be required viewing for guitar students....
his dad, Gene, could pick as well and his brother played drums in Midnight Rodeo. I played with Redd when he was just 15 but he was a big kid and no one questioned how old he was lol
These guys are magicians at spanking the old plank. Especially Redd's pefect rhythm guitar, holding things together. Bill's whistle solo, and Albert's diffident English personality.
Here's the most recent one of Bill (with Chris Gage) that I did in Austin in October. Lighting in small club wasn't great. but it's Bill! ua-cam.com/video/Le762eY6CAQ/v-deo.html
Another great one, The videos are very well recorded Steve you sure did a great job, we can't thank you enough for sharing this, you are so lucky you've got to see this while it was happening, going to watch it right away, thank you so much sir !
150 years of experience. You'll not find a stage with three more talented guitarists on it. Only one who could outplay them was Danny Gatton and he's gone.
I don't know about 'outplay them' but Danny could have been there with them. Check out the video of Vince Gill, Danny Gatton and Albert Lee and watch Danny admiring Albert's solo at the 11:00 mark.
It was.. See the one of Bill and Redd that I posted last year. And there are other 2016 FA vids with some great artists you SHOULD know about. Check out Tim and Kyle Thompson for AMAZING picking. Glad I could share this
Check out great hour plus interview with Redd on podcast series Music makers and soul shakers. I just found it. Glad you all like my video. There is another one from year before
nice video.. Redd is the best...He really does make a Tele talk...No wonder he left home at an early age, threw a mattress in his pick up and hit the road...Mr. Kichen whistles better than a bird and Albert Lee really has a nitch carved out...
Thanks 6stringks: Make sure you see the FULL show from the year before without Albert. Lots of great music on my YT channel. I do it to capture and preserve some amazing performances.
TREMENDOUS players, BUT, this is not talent, THIS is THOUSANDS of hours of practice, dedication and commitment. They weren't born playing like this, they WORKED HARD for it. These guys should be NATIONAL TREASURES!
I am so thankful that I played in a band with you when we’re trying to figure it out. Feeling blessed of the past and thanks for cashing my royalty Cheque from Tyson royalties in Nashville, I love ya and I miss you, also thanks for the guitar.
My neighbor, King Cotton, has Stevie Ray Vaughn open for his Texas band when Stevie was mostly unknown. King told his agent “Don’t ever put that kid ahead of me again, it’s hard to look good following talent like that!”
Erik Mäki I know what you mean. Albert lost a lot of his tone when he hung up his Telecasters. He must have needed the money badly for endorsement on that ugly red Ernie Ball guitar.
Love you music redd I heard about you from a friend in Hermiston Oregonand I have been listening to you or an hour I'm a lead guitar picker myselfI would love to meet up with you and be able to shake your a great man keep it up

Always loved Bill's music ❤
These guys are phenomenal ❤🎉
I'd be thanking Redd for being the defacto drummer... keeping such solid time to ground the players. He's so solid.
@Mike Simpson - Guitarist - Singer/Songwriter 😐
He played his great solos anyway :-)

@@vitkirunemaster9239 great story.
I feel very fortunate to catch a video of these three playing together.
Fantastic Video,3 great telecaster players,I saw 2 of them at Archies Creek Victoria Australia from Bill Powney Inverloch Australia.
These guys are magicians at spanking the old plank. Especially Redd's pefect rhythm guitar, holding things together. Bill's whistle solo, and Albert's diffident English personality.
Every one of these guys are legends.
Every one of these artists are amazing.
Charming men and musicians. Thanks a lot and greetings from Finland!
These guys are monsters of the guitar tribe , no gimmicks just plug in and play .
I met Red in Austin and he let me help him move. It was an honor.
What a kick to see those guys play together. Thanks!
Beautiful sounds and interpretations, music to go ute cruisin in. Thanks Gentlemen
Three legends, on one stage. Great vision and sound, thanks for posting Steve.
Incredible musicianship and all round entertainment.
I wish I could've enjoyed this in person. Next best thing! Thanks, Steve for sharing this!!!
I love the 3 distinct tones and sounds it always amazes me
was trying to find some words to describe this fantastic preformance .just cant find suitable words
Redd Volkaert really knows how to 'bend time' to his will !! These guys can school any guitarists out there!
Yes I love the way he plays like roy nichols.
I’m a semi professional who would love to jam with him! A musician of any instrument including myself could learn a lot from him!
So much to learn from watching/listening to Redd
Thank you for posting this! Three wonderful talents and kindred spirits.
You're Welcome D. There is another full vid from the year before on my YT channel
used to play with Redd when he was just 15. he was a monster back then but he favoured his 57 Strat back then.
AWESOME, THANK YOU for sharing this !!!
You're welcome Paco. I have one from 201
Actually here is direct link:

Geez Redd! A true giant.
Grandes músicos americanos, são mestres.
What an honour for those guys to be playing with Albert Lee.
'cause it's chopped liver to play with the other two
@@monoped8437 No offence meant.
@@epipick, none taken
Loved that! Thanks!
Wow it must have been a gas to have been there. Thanks for the upload!
These guys will be famous one day, take it from me
I think they already are famous that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😂
What a treat
Redd Volkaert - he`s the real greatest guitarplayer.
I have a new favorite color....REDD!!!!!
Love Redd's Mando style chop rhythm
Albert Lee is one of the best, like Danny Gatton. Even Van Halen mentions Al.
All three of these guys are hugely influential. Kirchen's Hot Rod Lincoln was huge!!!
Excellent
El maestro redd volkaert dando cátedra como siempre👏👏👏

Geez, Redd. You came to play.
I'm new to Redd Volkaert... it's not hard to really like this guy. Such a wonderful tone on that Telecaster.
Thanks! Check the one I loaded up of Bill and Redd at 2015 Folk Alliance.
It was.. See the one of Bill and Redd that I posted last year. And there are other 2016 FA vids with some great artists you SHOULD know about. Check out Tim and Kyle Thompson for AMAZING picking. Glad I could share this
+Steve Ramm Will do- thanks for the tips!
Glad you liked Michael. Check out the hour I posted of Bill and Redd at 2015 Fol Alliance
I enjoyed that!
Bill Kirchen makes the lower strings talk like no other player. ....must be those giant chunkin' Sasquatch hands of his. .... LOVE the guy.
Albert is a master.
Volkaert is on another level....
Yeah... these are serious cats, but Redd is pretty sharp here.
I hear so much big George.
Check out great hour plus interview with Redd on podcast series Music makers and soul shakers. I just found it. Glad you all like my video. There is another one from year before
Yes it excellent !!!
Thanks Glenn. There is another Bill and Redd Video from 2015 too. Search my Channel.
Thanks Steve, amazing. So cool guys...what’s the song before sleepwalk? Searched for it but no luck..
6stringks evangelina. Hoyt axton
Anyone, what’s the name of the song just before “Sleepwalk”, that Albert Lee sings?
Evangelina by Hoyt Axton

Bert is an ex of our band, great speckled bird to chinook arch riders

Pity the sound quality was so poor.
Hogg!!

You were more a chick magnet than you knew, but the right ones would get it, I am glad you got someone who gets it now.
Did anyone ever write shitty women walking down the street.
all guitar players sing. They may not sing publicly, but you can bet they sing when no one's around.
just add johnny hiland marty stewart kenny vaughn and ricky skaggs on his b bender mandolin to really wash your mind out
Don't leave Brett Mason out he may be the best!!!
Whatta ya know America still exists!
So does Canada and England. Redd's Canadian and Albert's English.
Please god , never ever make me follow those guys on stage .
My neighbor, King Cotton, has Stevie Ray Vaughn open for his Texas band when Stevie was mostly unknown. King told his agent “Don’t ever put that kid ahead of me again, it’s hard to look good following talent like that!”
Sorry, but when Albert gave up his Tele he gave up his voice.
if
😂
sound is not good . Its all Redd
"Telecaster Summit", yeah... Albert just won't give up his old Music Man, not even for the sake of the sound.
Erik Mäki

Red would better music alone.
