    TL;DR;
    - This motherboard *can fit* in the well priced Cooler Master NR200 case!
    - The included case fan will help manage the VRM temps in either orientation.
    - Having the top 120mm case fan as an intake fan is far superior for VRM temps but will elevate the CPU temperate a few degrees from 50°C to 54°C during my testing.

    bought a similar machinist mobo, very informative video, and gave me a bit more confidence with it when it arrives. I have a cooler master case with top mount fan slots, so this video was huge on informing me the difference it can make. pairing it with a e5 2680 v2, bit higher tdp. but with the drastic difference in vrm temps with that top intake fan, makes me pumped. thank you

      That could be fun! An official mATX version wouldn't need to be much taller, maybe 1". But it would have to be a few inches deeper for wider mATX compatibility. I think "as small as you can get" was just so on trend the last couple years.

    • @BensTechLab
      @BensTechLab  3 роки тому +1

      There is no room for anything on the bottom with a mATX motherboard. You are already over-spec to fit mATX instead of ITX motherboard. Maybe with a narrow radiator and water cooling a GPU or no GPU you could get really creative, buts it well outside the spec for this case. So you can experiment at your own risk!

    • @BensTechLab

      Yes this combo works fine! Unfortunately though the smaller mATX board cannot aupport quad channel memory due to space constraints (can't fit all the PCB traces). • @BensTechLab
      @BensTechLab  3 роки тому

      Yes a larger GPU can fit in this case, but fits better with the power supply on the back panel which didn't fit well with my mATX motherboard. So it is one big trade-off of space between MB, PS and GPU!! Choose which items you want to use the space for. You might be able to squeeze an SFX power supply on the front panel with a long GPU if you have very flexible cables or custom cables for your powersupply to make a 90 degree bend above GPU.

    • @BensTechLab
      @BensTechLab  2 роки тому +1

      This is a "standard width" case. Any thinner and you'll need a vertical GPU with PCIe extension cable and probably custom cooling on the GPU and CPU to make it thinner (the CPU cooler shown here nearly touches the side panel). At this point you move from a super low cost surplus parts build off ebay into the category of premium small form factor PC building market. You can search for "Optimum Tech" on UA-cam if you want to go that route! Lots of fun! But a totally different category of builds.
