This is exactly how I started many years ago. People would come for alterations and ask if I also made things. It does not take long to build a clientele as the need for a good seamstress/dressmaker is always high. To financially support this channel I may start some courses. Found your channel through the thread tracing video, and it finally clicked for me! Your other videos are short, sweet, and to the point, I wish I could be so succinct, so I’ve already shared with a few friends who mentioned, even once, that they might wanna learn to sew. I’m trying to learn to hand sew, I’ve always been amazed by the skill, especially in historical clothing, but I have zero knowledge bc I didn’t really have anyone to learn sewing from. Finding “from zero” instructional focused in hand sewing is… almost like a wild goose chase. I was so glad to find your channel because I think it’s really going to help me bridge that gap in knowledge that comes up for me in those resources ❤

I agree with you, i've been sewing since i was 4 or 5 years old beside my mom sewing machine and her guidance. During the pandemic, i stopped working and started a small business in sewing knit wear . At the beginning, I was on my own but not after 3 years, i have move to a studio and have 3 employees. We have fun together and now expending into sewing classes twice a week. Life is full of surprises!

I have been sewing since I was about 8 years old ( my poor Barbie had some interesting outfits 😅) and for myself since 18. I really appreciate all your videos- I never even knew about slopers 30+ years ago. I would love to open a shop or teach classes. I will start passing your videos along and hopefully one day I will have a few friends convinced to join me 😊
