"Go Jump Off A Bridge" was wrote by Cisco Freeman sometime back in 2019 then recorded on October 17th 2021 as part of the "Life's Contradictions" series of songs about puns, sayings, phrases, colloquilism, that are often misused or abused from their traditional satirical intent.
At some point I knew this individual that over used this phrase a bit constantly telling people to go jump off a bridge any time she heard some one say something she disagreed with or did not understand the irony was this person never seemed to use the phrase in a proper satirical manner as a joke it was just a phrase they used when they disagreed with another person as a stall tactic of sorts. Claim "oh you don't know what your talking about go jump off a bridge" then storm off or simply walk away.
Eventually some one took the saying litterally and jumped off a bridge fortunately with minimal injuries having only sustained a broken leg yet still was confused why anyone would tell some one else to go jump off a bridge as if some how the saying had been interpreted as a challenge, a way to get ones attention, a way to win over respect, a way to be acknowleged, or even perhaps as some kind of fairy tale that if you jump off a bridge you just may actually get what you wished for, asked for, or wanted when some one else told them to go jump off a bridge.
I recorded a dozen takes none of which came out the same and I eventually reached a point where I settled on posting this version as it captures the raw amatuer nature of my performance yet fits in with my current theme of posting Remedial Recordings leaving room for improvement.
One last note or point is that this song was written with little to no structure as I struggle a bit to impose a traditional blues style pattern with a repetative verse followed by a chorus or a verse chorus pattern the non-conformist in me rejects using any kind of traditional structure for this song as its already made up of lyrics that are "sayings"....I'm not sure if that makes sense...but oddly it does to me...so it's worth mention as part of what makes the song unique in my opinion. As my song writting skills improve I adapt more structure imposing a verse chorus structure even adapting adding a Bridge in a few song to which ironically enough this song could use a verse, chorus, bridge structure to which I'm intentionally leaving out to capture the amatuer nature of my song writing imposed on words that are not unique or my own words thus the structure of the song is what makes it mine of sorts.

Thanks! This song is part of a series of songs in my set list "Lifes Contradictions" taking colliquialism/phrases and turning them around. "Eating "Crow", "The Plan"., "Belts and Suspenders", "Dreams and Apirations", "Sorry", "Con't Call Anymore" , "Power", just to name some of the other songs along similar lines.actually....most of my songs change directions from where one might expect them to go...part of my twisted sense of humor. It's nice to be appreciated as the humor goes over most peoples heads.
