Does anyone know why Mr. Frisell usually plays guitars with vibrato bars but never seems to touch them? Do they do something he likes to the tone? I figure he knows what he's doing. He always sounds amazing. But I wonder.
You're right - Bigsby vibratos specifically. I wondered so myself. One other guy that i remember saying in a gear rundown he always gets a Bigsby installed in ALL his guitars is Conan O'Brien's band leader, Jimmy Vivino. There must be something it imparts to the tone of those instruments.
