I have had 5 Rivs, 2 '65's, 2 66's & a 67. Of all the cars I have had in my long life, the '65's were my absolute favorite cars. I have a '93 Jaguar XJS roadster convertible which has long been one of my faves. I would instantly sell it to get the '65 in this video. I know the Jag isn't nearly worth what this Riv is butt~~~~
63 through 65 Buick Riviera was one of the sexiest cars of the sixties by far. When my dad was in the army one of his sergeants inherited a 65 grand sport it was black with a 4 speed and two 4 barrels it was a special order car. We're talking the 1970s And he tried to sell it to my dad and he told him that he didn't want that gas hog lol. He wanted only $600 for it.
Nearly bought a 65' in a light beige about 30 yrs ago. One of the clamshell light covers was missing and he couldn't find one anywhere, so I passed on it. I REGRET it to this day. He was only asking $3200 for it.
65 is THE year! Love the colour! This is the most appealing 65 Riv GS I’ve seen online! (Other than the ones with sooo much dough invested, it makes it as precious as “un-obtainium”) Peace
I have been a Buick fan my entire life. Some of the most beautiful cars ever built by General Motors Corporation were Buicks. I am now 50 years old and I look back on my teen years when I purchased my first car. A 1962 Buick Wildcat 2 door HT. 401 4 barrel dual exhaust.
CLASSIE CAR. 1965 WAS THE YEAR FOR RIV. THE HIDDEN FRONT LIGHTS WERE FANTACTIC DESIGN. AND THE POWER IT DELIVERS IS OUTSTANDING. THANK YOU FOR READING. GOD BLESS.
It's nice these are finally being appreciated as the rise in prices indicate. Looks like the same color as the first car I drove in traffic, a '68 Electra: Medium Teal Metallic.
1965 Buick Riviera is the best Riviera of all time it's sucks they only built them one year with the clam shell hideaway headlights but everything about the 1965 Riviera I love the interior is awesome I love how the center console connects to the dash and the big round MPH and fuel, temp, amp, oil in the other
@@QualityClassics Whoa. Thanks for this. I saw this car in 1968 when I was 8 years old. I fell in Love. It drove by, I had no idea what it was. The first one I saw up close was on the back of a flat deck some 35 years later. They were just strapping it down and let me drool over it. Now I have a very rare 2012 Cadillac Cts 4 awd Luxury Edition Sportwagon. The dash and console integration is very close in design.
Buick needs to get their engineers locked in a room and they can't come out until they make a new Riviera that does justice to all the great early Rivs, especially the 65 and 71...
nice. I'm about to grab a nice 71 boat tail here in France. That combo of Big Block torque monster with full-size car design and plushmobile nobility, that's very very cool. Who needs today's 500 hp when you can get 50 yr old 500 ft-lb of torque ?! Keep on trucking ! (from France)
An absolute great video for people who don't know that much about that car... well done, exactly all the infos you need to fall in love! Well, I actually am since many years and I got mine (a 401 not GS in midnight blue with the blue luxury interior) 3 years ago. I restore it step by step and surely never will sell it again! This car is soooooo damn cooool!!!
I too believe this is the most beautiful car built. I like ve the 66-67 GTO (who doesn't), but I would rather have a Riviera, preferably the 455, 4 speed. But I would settle for a 350 Automatic one. This is a nice car. The paint is gorgeous (I am a painter myself). The body work is superb. The car was either nice to start, or someone spent time making her straight. I know they spent time making her straight, because they aren't that straight new.
Beautiful. What you said about public perception of Rivs in that era. That's exactly how I remember it. You also mentioned how great it sounds...so why did you wait so long to turn off the music?
even with college degree, working 2 shitty jobs i will never afford this, watching these only gets me sad. everyone loves Mustang, corvette, but riviera for me was that classic car that put them to shame
Thanks, interestingly, when these all GRAN SPORTS came out,I was driving a 1961 Ford Convertible (352 /4 BBL AUTO) & soon to get a 1966 Ford GALAXIE XL 500(4 speed/352 4 BBL, no DISC BRAKES,ETC THOugh I did metallic Brakes,& improvements,etc)... We seen a few of these GRAN SPORTS BUICKS, AND wanted one ... anyways, a little out of my Pharmacy SCHOOL budgets back then!!! Anyways, good driving.
These cars in this condition are now it the 6 figure neighborhood pricewise. Sold this one for peanuts, compared to what you'd get now. I think the asking price was around 40K.
One of my all time favourite cars, and one of the most beautiful. Great video and you present it very well...,but the music is dreadful. Cheap thrashy, trashy rubbish, and not even remotely in keeping with the subject matter. Please don't impose your lack of taste and imagination in music and mar this exceptional car. Thank you. Roman.
If it was my car , I would replace the suspension springs all the way around with thicker heavier duty steel and change the stance . The front would be lower by around an inch and a half and the rear about a half an inch .
It`s now recommended to position your hands at 9and3 o`clock. With your hands in this position, you are more relaxed with better control of the steering capabilities. As a limo driver, I very often hold only one hand on the wheel at 9or3 position and sometimes 8or4. Everyone has their own perspective manor. Have a great day Paul Joe.
I am speechless. Probably the prettiest car ever designed.
Yeah, it's a stunner!

I have 3 rivs, a 63, 64 and, numbers matching 65 rivi gran sport

Beautiful, personal luxury coupes in the late 60's, early 70's, GM had you covered. Great choices from all the brands. GM at its greatest.
Agreed!

I have to agree! I'm a HUGE fan of the '65 Riv.

Fabulous horn; great interior.
What a beautiful ride! Definitely my all time favorite!
Beautiful car . Those stock rims are just plain HOT !
Wow brings back memories my buddy had a 65 Riv Grand sport love the channel keep up the great work👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Buick needs to get their engineers locked in a room and they can't come out until they make a new Riviera that does justice to all the great early Rivs, especially the 65 and 71...
A GRAND TOURER BUILT ON A CAMARO PLATFORM MAYBE.
My thought exactly.

Thank you so much! I completely agree The '65 Riviera is one of my all time favorites!
Anyone else catch that wobbly front left wheel? @ about 4:40... This is one amazing car, really nice example!
I don't think I'd let him drive my car after he blew through the stop sign!!! I'd be telling him to pull over and get out!
What a PUTZ..
Great video, great car!!
+V8AmericanMuscleCar Thank you ..... much more to come
If I ever find my pops 65 Black Hardtop Grandsport...I will die a happy man.
Sure would like to find my '65GRANDSPORT, white on green interior, bought SLC off showroom. Wonder if it is a survivor (?)
ETERNALLY IMPECCABLE DESIGN, COLOR AND RESTORATION!!! Love, like CRAZY historically correct restorations of ANY car!
Absolutely Gorgeous car! Love the Music also. Who is that playing?
This car and the 65 grand prix.
Perfection oh ya
Had a chance to buy one exactly like this for $350.00 and passed on it, to my eternal regret....
Would like to have one..any one have a pristine one or know where i can get one near Boston Boston
In Houston, one couldn't park the Riv just anywhere. When parked out of the garage, you need to keep an eye on it.
They need to release a new 2022 version of this like Mustang did
A beautiful car.
Thanks!
Extremely hard car to restore due to it's unbelievable design. Managed to restore a GS but I wasn't happy with the end result.
Very true.
My friend had one. Big block with dual Quads. Very fast high speed car!!
So cool I had a 66
Its a beauty!!

Fantastic, topnotch, immaculate automobile, how much did it sell for?
Best one ever made

UA-camR'S AND THEIR PLAY LISTS. UGH.
even with college degree, working 2 shitty jobs i will never afford this, watching these only gets me sad. everyone loves Mustang, corvette, but riviera for me was that classic car that put them to shame
You can do it man! Don't give up on the dream!
i work and live in mexico i just bought one just like that, not a gs

Hew GM! How 'bout a 2020 Retro Buick Riviera Grand Sport?
That would be awesome!
there's a 65 Riviera frame for 1200 around my block... thinking of buying and putting some work into that baby
Sweet ride...I have a 1966 and people drool over it when I take it out. I get more driver satisfaction than when I drive my 2016 Camaro SS.
I agree!
Hello. I am writing through an interpreter. What signal attached to the vehicle? Articles would be helpful.
+Сергей Вершинин Sorry, I do not understand the question.

William L. Mitchell is the designer of the Buick Riviera. The design looks of the 1963 thru 1965 Riviera were inspired from the Rolls Royce.
Ronnie Johnson Huh? It looks nothing like the 63 Rolls.
@@rgrndu yeah because its better than the rolls
Does anyone know if this car is for sale?
It's already sold. Thanks!

Nice :)
real cars
Beautiful car. Shit muzak.
'65 Rivs are really cool, but there are just not many around!! Was this a one-year-only design? Not too crazy about those huge front wheel drive Rivs.
REAR WHEEL DRIVE. TORONADO AND ELDORADO WERE FWD. '63-'65 FIRST GEN DESIGN.
@@MICHGO1 i think hes talking about the 1980's riviera
why do they call the Buick motor nail head
Racers initially named it "Nailhead" because the exhaust valves were so small, they looked like nails.
Railroad spikes not hardware nails 😂

World`s weirdest way of steering. World`s best way with arthritis in the fingers I guess. Great car.

That's a car!
Sexiest car ever made in my opinion, now look what Buick makes
No manual transmissions offered, ever, in any Riviera...
I hate when they do that aspect ratio thing.
stunning, how'd we go from cars like these to ugly as fuckin' hell prius hybrids? ugh!!!
Blablabla !😣😣😣😣
That vinyl top has got to go.
I’ve had some lovely cars, but this…
