I am fairly certain that no new Riviera EVER looked that absolutely perfect, the perfect paint, the deep chrome, the perfect interior and trunk, all the clean non bubbling decals…all of it. What an absolute work of art!
Hi Stevos, Happy to read "What an absolute work of art!" :-) Lou
The Riv!!! Lou king good 😎🇱🇷✔️
It's the most beautiful Buick I've seen. 68 Electra 225, 72 Skylark 350, 74 Park Avenue, 75 wagon, 78 Regal Turbo, 86 Century
That Riviera belongs in a museum. Its absolutely beautiful .
Hi Bill, High praise :-) Lou
It sure does Bill! The Riviera was one of my FAV classic cars from the 60s! I guess it's because I built a model of one as a lad and had it on display in my bedroom back in the day!
This gentleman should be commended, he did this car top to bottom with the absolute original equipment and put his life on hold to get to this moment- congratulations sir, I think this is THE best restoration I have ever seen ❗️🇺🇸.
Timeless elegance is the perfect way to describe this car , well done.
High praise for this restoration :-)
Lou, the only word to describe this automobile is "Magnificent!" However the sad part is that it's far too valuable to drive...and a Riviera Gran Sport was meant to be driven and enjoyed! Thanks for bringing this gem to UA-cam!
Hi Bill Hershkowitz, High praise :-) You're welcome, Lou
Stunning A1 meuseum restoration very unique Riviera Patrick Swayze had a Riviera like this in the movie road house
Hi David R, High praise for the work done to this car, and some movie trivia too :-) Nice, Lou
@@loucostabile Leonard Nimoy owned a classic Riviera like this when he was playing Spock in STAR TREK in the 1960s.
The level of detail on this Riviera is awe inspiring. 100% the best restoration to original condition. I would love to see it in person. Andy, Thank You for your service, and for this gem of a restoration.
Hi soyounoat, High praise.
Absolutely amazing restoration job can't imagine finding all the parts for it.
Hi derwood 454, I agree, this one is amazing. Lou
@@loucostabile And... THAT is a very UNIQUE color too! I don't think I've seen anything like it! Back in the day, I got a 1965 Riviera model car for Xmas, that I enjoyed putting together, with my big brother's help. He later in life became somewhat a collector of classic cars from the 50s- early 70s. IIRC, we even had lacquer paint cans for spraying the model cars?
Andy has done an incredible job!
I was born in 68. My dad had a 65’ Riviera that’s the car they brought me home in after I was born. He kept it for several years. I still have a infatuation with them.
Thanks, Lou!
Hi Chip, High praise and good memories of the 65 Riviera :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing your story, and you're welcome, Lou
Grew up in the 60s... the boat tail was , IMHO, the gentleman's answer to Corvette...one was strip, other was style!!! Thnx 4 the memories... classics rule!!!
The 65 is the ultimate!

Troy Van, I was thinking the same thing! Don't think I'd want to touch it or sit in it for that matter!
i was 12 when the '63 Riviera debuted and as a kid who loved cars was blown away by it. I wanted my parents to buy one SO BAD. we were a Ford family, and even though we did have the '67 4 door TBird and '68 T-Bird coupe (mercifully withOUT a landau roof)...I never stopped lusting for this car to this day, arguably one of the most beautiful American cars ever designed.
Hi Bill, High praise for the design of this car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
A prize winning Riviera. One of the best ever. Go Flint Michigan
High praise :-)
The 65 Buick Riviera GS is my favorite Riviera of all time I love that car love the hideaway headlights with the clamshell openings and the interior is just to die for. how the dash looks with the center console goes from the dash back is so awesome
Hi 79tazman, Happy to read this is your favorite Riviera of all time :-) You have great taste in cars, Lou
When I was a senior at Artesia High School in 1964-65, my gym coach Chief Ron Halstead owned a brand new 1965 Buick Riviera GS in forest green metallic. Love those Buick chrome rims!
I don’t even know what to say Lou, it’s gonna be hard to top this one. Thanks for bringing it to us .
Hi DWH072, High praise :-) You're welcome, Lou
Timeless elegance indeed. This car is stunning. Great job 👏👏👏
High praise :-)
The perfection of this restoration is breathtaking! None better! Congratulations!
High praise :-)
I don't know how I missed this video especially since I'm a huge 65 Buick Riviera fan. I'm speechless on this video! In my opinion, this might be the nicest and most restored car period on this channel. I could hear Lou laughing slightly on video as the owner wanted to tell him EVERYTHING about ever little detail. That's how much this guy loves his car. The 1 of 1 Cadillac color is amazing. This car is the holy grail of 65 Rivieras and Lou got the exclusive video on it. Awesome find!
Hi Kenneth White, High praise on this car and the video :-) Thank you for sharing, Lou
That is by far the best restoration ever.
High praise :-)
Just one word Lou, AMAZING. I would be afraid to Breathe by that car🤤🤤
High praise for this car :-)

I would normally not sit through your vlogs, only this one won me hands down, my late father always loved these vehicles.
Full credit to the owner, he has done a fantastic full restoration.
Also, a credit that the owner subjected himself to your interview to show off his great example of a Buick
Hi James Exploring Online, Happy to read one of the videos I'm sharing won you hands down :-) High praise for the restoration of this car, Lou
This car is art work at it's finest! Nothing built today could ever compare to this beauty!

It feels like its 1965 again beautiful time machine 💯👍👍
Hi David R, This one that looks showroom new takes you right back in time :-) Nice, Lou
I am in shock having viewed this video! Hands down this redo is breathtaking, which is how I felt seeing the 1965 Riviera for the first time at the State Fair Of Texas. I was in Junior High School and remembered taking brochures of my favorite cars that year to classes and this was my dream car. Here’s to a job well done 👍!

I have always LOVED the first generation Rivieras. I have had two 64 Rivieras and my first one, (dark blue metallic paint with a light blue interior) I had been trying to get since I was about 13 and finally got it when I was 19. I had saw it every day when I went to school starting in kindergarten as it sat in a back yard across the alley from the elementary school playground since I was 4 years old. Unfortunately I sold it to a friend when I was about 30 because I needed the money. He had it for about 7 years before he parked it beside a gravel pit one of his friends owns and it's sat there to this day and is slowly rusting away, and he won't do anything with it but won't sell it either. Trust me, I have tried. My second one was pale yellow with black interior. Both had the 425 and Super Turbine 400 transmission. I wish I had them both today
HI Todd, Happy to read "I have always LOVED the first generation Rivieras." :-) Glad to read you had two fun Riviera's. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
@@loucostabile I have actually had 3 Rivieras but the 3rd one was a 78 so was in an entirely different league and not as classy as the first generation Rivieras

..Like many classics, an old car like this can easily end-up in a salvage yard and either quickly become financially non-viable to restore.. or else some determined fellow comes along, and as a labour of love.. POW ! Great how Cars motivate people ! What a find. Thanks, one of the most well proportioned cars Ever (imo.)

Hi Chris, Happy to read you enjoy this classic car :-) Lou
WoW!! I got chills watching this video. I love the old Buicks and especially the Riviera line but the Gran Sport variants are the cats meow. Having just now learned that the very first Riviera by Buick was also a Gran Sport and this is the car puts this car in a special place in Buick’s history timeline. This restoration is over the top and that he started it for you to put in the video was and is worth many thanks because I for one, wanted to hear that motor run. This has got to be my favorite video of all my favorite videos and I like them all.

That's an amazing restoration when you consider what he started with! When I worked at GM and they brought back the last version of the Riviera, they brought the original, hand built prototype Riviera from the GM collection out to the Lake Orion plant and put it on display for a few days. It was silver with a black top. The front inner wheel wells were red. It was a real museum piece.

Loved the video on my all time favorite car. Very informative and I learned much more about The riviera..the restoration is amazing
Hi Juan Hinojosa, Glad you "loved the video" :-) Hope you see many more cars on the Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
My Mom had a ‘63 Rivera when I was in my early teens. I loved it, especially the interior. I would sit in it and get spit on the inside of the windshield making engine noises with my mouth (jk). My folks sold it before I got my license, that probably saved my life because I drove like an idiot for the first year or so. I would have beat that car like it owed me money. Luckily, I bought a ‘67 Chevelle with a 6cyl as my first car. Nobody died. The ‘63-‘65 Rivera has a special place in my heart, as a kid I knew every curve of those cars and drew pictures of them on my school notebooks and stuff back then. I would often soften up the roofline to make it look a little more like a ‘68 GM A body and widen the rear quarter panels slightly to make slightly oversized tires look right. It’s the design of the front of these cars that captured my imagination. Simply beautiful piece of automotive history. As a young kid I watched Speed Racer on TV (a terribly animated Saturday morning cartoon) and always though the Riv had “borrowed” a little design from Mach5 Speed drove in the show, not realizing the Riv came first lol. Anyway, thanks for a great video of an awesome car, Thumbs up!
Hi AngryRed Banjo, Thank you for viewing, sharing, and adding to the story with details on your Mom's 63 Riv, Lou
