It's a shame Cranes disappeared from Cardiff, that was always impressive with a huge variety of all sorts of guitars and right in the centre of the city. Sad to see them go after so many years.
Cheers mate, would have loved to have visited. The amount of music shops that have disappeared from high streets across the country in the past 10-15yrs is insane- cheers for watching!👍
@richardbrown8099 And your point ist ? There is nothing wrong with being the wisest. Bro, stop tripping. Smh, always one with the negative energy, huh Dick ? 🤣
@totalplonker824 cheers mate- Didn't have a clue that was the case when I visited, but love that fact and that it's still going all these years later! Cheers for watching!👍
Thanks for this. Gamlin’s has already been mentioned, but a couple of miles up the road is another musical instrument store, Noble’s Music. Incidentally, Spillers Records claims to be the oldest record shop in the world, while Kelly’s is said to be the oldest second hand record shop in the UK.
@myturningpoint must have missed Gamlins! And cheers mate, the guys at Moto Music did mention Mike, I couldn't remember his name, thanks for the reminder - Moto Music is fantastic. Cheers for watching!👍
@@GlynOC ahhh that's bloody awful 😒 Although I always got the impression that Gamlins was steadfastly 'traditional' and almost deliberately against modernisation? Not sure if that's to do with the age of the owners? But that is very sad news.
Screw PMT.. I once wanted to try out a guitar in the window display once. They asked if I had the money to purchase. They are not as friendly as Gamlins or GM music. Cranes used to be amazing awesome. PMT is like the Apple shop for instruments. The staff just jump on you and you feel watched around the store.
@anthonyvaccari4607 I've had some similar experiences mate (not at PMT) and I agree it does put you off. But the person I spoke to when I visited PMT was great to be fair, he let me try some stuff out, and yes, he was looking for a sale, but I didn't feel any pressure to buy. Cheers for watching!👍

Crabs hasn't gone it's still there but up stairs and old and used guitars only
Go to A Strings in Pontypridd. Good little shop with a good choice.
Cranes is now online
Mike, the former manager of Cranes, now owns Moto Music.
Wow , I always wanted to visit the country just to experience the music stores .
Big thanks for for watching, hope this gave you a bit of an idea!👍
Spoilers, the oldest record shop in the world.
@richardbrown8099 And your point ist ? There is nothing wrong with being the wisest. Bro, stop tripping. Smh, always one with the negative energy, huh Dick ? 🤣
@richardbrown8099 Nice, I wasn't aware of that when I was visiting- cheers for the info!👍
Thanks for sharing this with us. 😎😎🎶🎶🎶🎶
No worries, big thanks for checking the vid!👍
Never heard of Moto music before, can’t believe I missed that one . Pmt is my usual haunt for guitars 🎸
@simonnash3560 Nice one, Moto is definitely worth a look - big thanks for watching mate!👍
Fun fact...
Spillers Records in Cardiff's historic morgan arcade was established in 1894, therefore making it the oldest record store in the world.
@totalplonker824 cheers mate- Didn't have a clue that was the case when I visited, but love that fact and that it's still going all these years later!

Nice spot mate! Cheers for watching the vid - some great guitars at PMT that day 👍
Should also make a trip up to Pontypridd and visit A Strings
Thank you mate, just did a quick Google and A Strings looks great, if I'm that way again I'll definitely check it out.
Cheers for watching!👍
@@jdfosho A strings is a great place, real top end stuff as well as the bottom end
There used to be a music shop just round the corner from the station, can’t remember what it was called.
Maybe I missed it?! Cheers for watching!👍
Nobles in Cardiff was where I bought all my gear, is hairdressers now I believe
@123coining123 thanks for sharing mate, and cheers for watching!
There's always "One" 😂
One lefty? I'll take it 😄
Cheers for watching!👍
You didn't visit Gamlins?
Also Mike Podesta who ran Cranes, runs Moto Music.
@myturningpoint must have missed Gamlins!
