so will this work if I have this setup hookup to my smartTV and I wanted to play what was on regualer TV but have the sound from through the homepods as well?
I have an HDMI ARC port in the back of my TV but in my audio settings menu, I don't have the same options in Expert Settings you show in your video. It shows HDMI Input Audio Format rather than HDMI eARC mode, it gives me the option to choose Bitstream or PCM. I'm stuck. Thoughts?

Yes, as long as your Apple TV is plugged into the hdmi port that has ARC

Try both. If pass through is an option, use that for best performance. You can also look up your specific tv online to help you. I wish you luck!
Is there any latency with game console? Does audio have a delay?
No delay for me
