    About Me:
Hi, I'm Louise! I started this channel in 2010 after readers of my blog (called Sprinkle of Glitter) suggested I give UA-cam a try. I was instantly hooked and have found my internet playground on here. I make videos about plus size fashion, motherhood, lifestyle and occasionally have special guests (friends, kittens or my sweet Daughters Darcy, 12 and Pearl, 5).
I also write (book number SIX is out now!), podcast (Mother's Meeting, series 2 out now) and waffle on all over instagram.
Hit the subscribe button to never miss a video again!
I chat every day on my other social media (linked above) so do come and say hi!
    Big hugs,
    Louise xxx

I think it’s important to share things that you feel are “mistakes” or “bad choices” - it gets it off your chest and sometimes speaking it out loud makes you realise that it’s not as bad as you originally felt about it when it was stewing away in your brain space

I don't see / hear a failure in any of this! You pivoted, changed direction, still steering your life / business in a way that's right for you, that is huge success, as opposed to sticking to something that's not working. It's so important to have full awareness of what you want in life and if the things you are doing are in alignment with that. And yes, I can tell that you're enjoying UA-cam right now :)

I've followed you on and off since Darcy was a toddler, and the reason why I came back, and watch your videos now is because you didn't go that influencer route of doing more, more, more. I love homey content, because it's so similar to my life, and I can't relate to so many of the youtubers I used to watch.
Keep doing what you're doing! You're absolutely wonderful, and a joy to watch, even talking about heavier subjects. You have a lovely way of looking at things, and reflecting on them, which I admire, and try to do myself.

I found this a positive chat for those of us in our 30’s. Understanding what we saw as success growing up and what we see as success for ourselves today. I find it so hard sometimes to find contentment in what’s going really great right now professionally…I’m looking at what’s next. I think your video poses the question: “do we have to see what’s next right at this moment?”

You ARE a girl boss! Louise you were one of the original pioneers of doing UA-cam as a career, don’t ever forget that! How do we know all those people following the “boss babe” lifestyle are actually happy or just doing it because they feel pressured to? The fact you broke away from that and did what was best for you is way more powerful than you think, your authenticity will always be your success ❤️

Fellow 30-something (that has been following you since I was 19?!) and you nailed the discussion about reaching a point in life where we can look around and say “You know what? This isn’t for me.” It’s such an area of life I don’t think is discussed often enough! Also I wouldn’t consider this a failure (as I’m sure no one here does!) because you addressed your wants and needs in your professional life and realize they didn’t intersect in an outside office! You’re just the best! Congrats!

This was lovely to hear this evening. I'm currently on maternity leave as a nurse and I've officially handed in my notice, I'm now going to be a SAHM for my two little ones for a few years and return to my career after that. I was so torn as we are conditioned to want to be women who have it all (career, family, friends, children ect) while that's possible im learning it's actually okay to just want to be a mummy right now and I'm not 'giving up' by letting go of my job right now. p.s you look fabulous in that lippy colour. 😊

Louise, I don't think you get how big you already are! I've been following you since Darcy was born, all the way from Brazil! See how far (literally) you have gone? You are a boss babe - want it or not - you've written books, collabed with amazing brands, received awards and produced great content over so many years! You've made it! And I think the way you feel is totally understandable, considering everyday we are told to be more, to do more, to want more. But it's okay and freeing to break away from this pattern and be happy and satisfied with what we already have. lots of love xx

I'm loving you embracing what you want to focus on and embracing a "small" and happy life (no such thing as a small life in my opinion!) It actually takes a lot of work and self-awareness to know what you want and know when to stop chasing what you don't; huge congratulations to you for finding and embracing it! P.S. Obsessed with the crafty live chats recently!

Omg THIS! You’re the most relatable youtuber atm. Feel like barbie movie touches on this it’s OKAY to want to be a homemaker and a mum and live a comfortable life with a comfortable job. We as women have so much pressure atm to be “boss bitches” and if we’re not then we’re automatically subconsciously made to feel lazy or unambitious etc.

  • @maryhill7640
    @maryhill7640 Рік тому +13

I've definitely taken a lot from this. Mainly that we're all different and want different things and that really is OK.
I feel like there's so much pressure to want certain things, exciting, high-flying jobs etc... But we measure excitement and success differently.
I've worked in retail for 14 years and it's hard. Customers are rude every single day and make you feel small, management ask too much and a simple 4 hour shift can drain me.
If someone gave me a boring, monotonous job I'd take it in a heartbeat and people hear that and think you don't have ambition. I have loads of ambition, my dream is to be a published author and nothing will change that.
We should all be content with what we value as exciting and important, because it's our lives and our say ❤️

You’re a leader in this industry. You were one of the first channels I started watching many years ago. The best thing about UA-cam is you can follow your own path - and you set what that path is. It sounds like the office - including those last 2 years, taught you a lot, including how to let go. The most amazing thing I have taken from this video is you have realised the joy was taken out of your job and you figured out how to get it back - go you!

As we go through our life pursuing this or that, trying new things, taking chances, being adventurous, etc., our needs and desires change as we adapt, change and/or figure out a better fit. In no way do I see this office location change as failure but as a successful growth moment to fix what was no longer serving you. Granted you were very cautious and it may have not been necessary to hold out on making your decision for two years, but the failure would be if you were still trying to make that old solution fit your current operations. I’m proud of you for making a wise decision to streamline your business expenses! Well done, Louise! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I saw the link via your insta and watched. Very raw honest and inspiring. Well done for choosing you first. I was similar, I gave up my career as a deisgner and retrained as a children’s yoga teacher. I rented my own premises (which I decorated beautifully), but being in a small village we didn’t have the footfall, and there was also lots of other local ‘competition’. I was gutted when I handed my keys back and also felt like a failure. I tried WFH and that didn’t work for me, it felt like ground hog day and I was in a cool down bubble. I’m now back at my previous job as a designer which I love. It felt like a step backwards In Life going back to an old job. But actually do what you love. And like you said it’s just a chapter not the whole story. Thank you x

Thank you for sharing! Quite interesting. If I may hypothesize, I imagine you may have taught and inspired your employees and that's why they ultimately got new jobs was because they could expand themselves in part thanks to you. ❤ Also, to hear you speak about being content is so beautiful. I strive for this as well.

I’m finalising selling my cafe after being there 6 years. People have said aw you tried.
I’ve more than tried I’ve worked hard and I’ve done well but it’s now time to move on. I’m not enjoying it like I used to and it’s time for
It to be someone else’s pride and joy. My views on things like this are this was a good chapter in my life and it’s a time to leave it here before it turns sour. Look back with fond memories and move onwards and upwards! X

Good afternoon luv! Just started the video, but have to say how stunning you look today! A bit of a pick me up. Also, remember, YOU CANNOT HAVE SUCCESS WITHOUT FAILURE… You’ve had so much success and I know you will take lessons learned and grow bigger and better in any way you see fit. Lots of luv from Florida! ❤

Love your honesty! I understand what you mean. There’s lots of pressure & I do want to achieve bigger things. You are definitely a boss girl & not a failure! You got to do what you want! I’d love to be on your podcast! I hope you’d consider me being on your show! That would be awesome! 💗

I really felt what you said about being content with where you are being okay with not constantly striving for "bigger" and "better". I'm not an entrepreneur but I'm in leadership in my field and I started to think that it was time for me to apply for CEO jobs, but I didn't feel excited about the prospect at all. I just felt like I could do the job, so I should be doing it. Then, like you, I realized that the phase of life I'm in as a mom of a small child, it's just not my top priority. I like that my current job has some flexibility and I work with people I really like so for now, for me, that's enough. At some point, I'll get back to striving for the top role, but it's okay that it's not right now. xo

Definately not a failure, just a realisation that what you thought you wanted, needed, turned out to be the opposite, and sometimes we need to go through it to see, and realise it.

I do read the description box. As far as those other you tubers who have offices... They hardly do videos anymore. They are too busy with all of the expanding and their office. They do not have time for what made them able to do this in the first place. If they do throw one up its usually only to push something they sell. I do understand some have started familys and are busy with real life and that is fine. It is def time for me to clean up my subscription list though. You are in no way a failure though and I love how real you are. HOpe you have a wonderful week hon.
