- Dan Rowan and Dick Martin were the stars of LAUGH-IN, but it was the comedic women who created so many of the memorable sketches and characters from the variety show. From Edith Ann and Busy Buzzi to the silliness that became synonymous with Goldie, the show became an integral part of our culture in the 60s and 70s. This compilation includes show regulars Lily Tomlin, Goldie Hawn, Ruth Buzzi, JoAnne Worley, Judy Carne, and Theresa Graves, as well as some of the best moments with guest stars Tina Turner, Debbie Reynolds, Carol Channing, Diana Ross, Cher and many more! With its roots in vaudeville and burlesque, ROWAN AND MARTIN'S LAUGH-IN premiered as a special in 1967 and was so well-received, it became a series in 1968 that ran for 140 episodes until 1973. Producer George Schlatter's quick gags and rapid fire editing style paired with political jabs and risque humor to make LAUGH-IN the most popular show on television. As a kid in the early 1970s, my parents and I would love to watch Laugh In Sock It To Me. They sure don't make any great entertainment on TV anymore like they used to.

My parents watched this show faithfully. It was the 60s and almost anything was acceptable. And now I know, why. I miss this kind of proper yet reserved, idiocy.😁
