Thank you for your updates on what has worked. It is really great when someone says, this is what I'm doing and it always seems to sound good but you never hear about it again so you don't know whether it did work. Reminding us that you had put the goats as well as the electric fence and the fence worked best was great follow up info.
Also like that you use what is on hand when possible to create new things rather than just throwing money about.
I think you have some pretty smart goats. They may have gotten distracted the first time but they were great coming back home at the end of the day.

My family raised Nubian goats when i was a teenager. I never did learn how to milk them. My fingers just didn't work that well at it. The goats have to really trust you before they will let you milk them. She is doing a great job. My job was doing hoof trimming because i was the only one that could get them to be still. I really miss them a lot that was 37 yrs ago. My favorite thing was using the milk on Rice Chex and the cream would lay on top of the cereal. Man that tasted so good.

Great Job Guys! You did wonderfully.!!! As a former goat raiser, I have one teeny suggestion (works with cows too). In herd animals there is always a BOSS Cow or Boss Goat. Since they stayed back with the one female "Libby" I think she may be your herd boss.

Herding goats has a certain similarity to herding cats. In fact, I’ve heard it said that goats are cats with hooves. It’ll get easier as the goats get used to where they’re going, and you get used to where they’re likely to go sideways, but it’ll always require your full attention.

I always use a spray bottle with water to “guide” them when they stray, goats hate water and will run the opposite way from the spray…usually. My Katie is pretty stubborn at times but I always have a handful of Nima’s crackers to coax the stubborn ones. 😊
