+Grinding Gears Garage so I just got done adjusting the valves and I put everything back together carefully but now my quad's just cranking but not starting. I adjusted it back to TDC and still nothing. Im hoping you can help!
To replace Valve Seals, Can this be done here, under the Valve Caps ? .. doesn't look like much room to get a Spring Compressor in there !? .. also, if you drop a keeper, how you gonna get that out of there !?
my valves are extremely loud and the person i just bought it from said he adjusted them and roide ot for about 4 hours total, idk if its just mine but some other videos the vlaves seem to be loud in them. any help?
Can you maybe help with something I am struggling to take of my swingarm, the shock and bolt is out but it is still stuck and I tried but it doesnt come out and also the a arms out of the brake assembly all bolts and nuts are out but its stuck and doesnt want to take out, any tips?
it could be either. i would say compression test the engine while its cold and see where it is. another way to tell if its valve seals is to remove the carb and exhuast and see if the valves have a lot of build up on them. since its smoking the exhuast probably will either way
I have an intermittent spark problem, put a new stator on, new starter, and had to replace starter clutch gears, it turns over and backfires but doesn't have constant spark, I checked grounds but can't figure out what it is. any help?
Pulled the plug and kept the boot on and had it touching steel with the lights off while it was turning over. And I am pretty sure it is. is there any markings to determine?
Brandon Tuck tdc is when the piston is at the top. but it comes to the top twice in a complete firing cycle. you need to verify with the mark on the stator that you are at tdc
Gives a general overview of setting the valve lash, but doesn't hold the camera on important views to see what he is pointing out (timing marks on flywheel and on cam gear). Just pans by the items. Spends more time on trivial things than on the core items.
thank you reviving my 08 from the grave video is short and to the point. very well explained
Thank you so much for all these videos!
Just what I was looking for! Great tutorial.
+Karl Leone awesome thanks for watching!!!!

Karl Leone does it have spark and does it have fuel. two major things
Thanks for the tutorial - very helpful just purchased an 2008 raptor 250
awesome! be sure to hit the subscribe button!!!
Yamaha had a recall on the 2008 Yamaha Raptor SE 250CC starter clutch and starter..no charge. sweet..
is point one zero millimeters and point ten milimeters the same thing?
Hoping for some help I’m timing the same quad up, in hand book it says to set it on the right side of the |-| rather than the single |

What heel guards are those

+Danie vd Merwe is the swingarm bolt itself stuck or just the swing arm? also which part of the arm wont come out? the frame side or the knuckle side?
+Grinding Gears Garage The frame side, after a struggle I got it out thanks
Almost done willput everything back tomorrow
just bought a 2010 raptor 250 smokes when you first start it than it goes away after it has warmed up would it be rings or valve seals thks
it could be either. i would say compression test the engine while its cold and see where it is. another way to tell if its valve seals is to remove the carb and exhuast and see if the valves have a lot of build up on them. since its smoking the exhuast probably will either way

I am also jumping the starter solenoid cause it needs a battery
todd Niper is the timing correct? how did you check that the spark wasnt consistant?

if you watch this video it shows you how to check the timing as well
Okk
is Tdc with piston completely at top?
mine cranks with mild valve tick and exhaust gets cherry red
Brandon Tuck tdc is when the piston is at the top. but it comes to the top twice in a complete firing cycle. you need to verify with the mark on the stator that you are at tdc
Brandon Tuck also a cherry red exhaust seems like the bike is running extremely lean.
