To be clear, the warcraft characters are more likely from a mod. Can’t have grand strategy without the mods, after all.

@@Zhuury Same, played it so much back in the day, and never beat it, only until I learned how by watching Seths video on it lol. All these years… and it was so simple.
I *adore* the Crusader Kings games. Yes, CK3 feels a little barren compared to CK2, but that's because CK2 has eight YEARS worth of DLC and updates that CK3 is still trying to catch up on. I love the detail they go into when it comes to the history, and the fact that the game is not so much a strategy game (despite being labeled as "grand strategy") as it is a game that tells the story of a dynasty through the years/decades/centuries. And, uh, yeah, that Warcraft thing is a mod, not an official version of the game.
CK3 in like 3-5 years will be the best game to ever come into existance.

Just as a note, since Crusader Kings 3 released, the base game of Crusader Kings 2 is actually free. Not only that, but they added a $5/month subscription service that gives you access to ALL of the DLC. So the game is actually much more affordable than it was at the time of this video.
If you want to maximize the value, convince your friends to join multiplayer and for that 5$ a month everyone gets to enjoy the DLC.

The stuff about the cost is no-longer accurate. In the lead-up to the release of Crusader Kings III, Paradox made Crusader Kings II available for free on Steam, and then a few months later they rolled out a subscription system that gives access to all of CK2's DLCs for $5 a month.

It is not that expensive. You need about 10 dlc for full function, the rest is mostly flavor. If you get it on a sale it's quite reasonable.
The World of Warcraft was a Mod.
There are tons of Total Conversion mods for CK2.
Game of Thrones has a very expansive one, as does Lord of the Rings. Lots of other fantasy too.
Base game is now free on Steam and you don't need all DLCs to make it great. Crusader Kings 3 is on XBOX Game Pass Ultimate for PC.

The game would not be worth playing without mods, especially since all the stupid shit is what gives it its charm and mods increase that part like x100, still there are some really well crafted ones too, like the elder scrolls or game of thrones mods
