High school sophomore with one of the most impressive gas tanks I've ever seen.
Aaron Pico was the last High School kid to have a gas tank like this kid. These young guys have so much experience and you see them at all the big camps and great coaching. These two guy's Bassett and Blaze are not the only young guy's coming up and America's future looks extremely bright
its quite terrifying
Bo’s pace and conditioning is crazy …
💯
He is a straight up grinder. He out worked every other wrestler. 🤼♂️
I think the thing that impressed me the most was his attitude. Professional and respectful. Not allot of jumping around and flexing. He just goes out and wrestles full out then calmly walks off. Nice to see that on the mat.
Big shout outs to both Bo & Blaze for stepping up and taking it to these D1 guys. There’s a lot of strong feelings going around on whether HS kids should be wrestling D1 guys. Bo proves the answer is a resounding yes. When ur rolling up everyone in HS, this is what real competitors and champs do. We let NCAA guys wrestle at the World level right? These kids are so damn talented and it could stunt their growth or potentially create burnout if they’re not getting tested regularly. Keep dominating Bo and don’t let the haters try to hold you down brother.🙏🏼
Bo is literally the age of college freshman. Calling him a high school sophomore is ridiculous. Let’s say it how it is, he’s an 18 year old who’s playing the system 😂
@@kohei9157 I’m with you 100%. He’s playing the system for sure. But as long as that system in place for athletes to take advantage of, it will continue to happen. Still impressive wrestling either way and you got to give it up to the kid. Jumping all those weights from last year and to look even better is really impressive. 🙏🏼
@@kohei9157I agree 1000% the kid is still nice at wrestling
@@kohei9157bruh google says he’s 16 where are you getting 18 from?
And the article is from feb 6, 2023
dang his pace is crazy
Bassett is gonna be The Eater of World’s by the time he wrestles college. Imagine what Cael Sanderson could do with this kid.
Bassett is wrestling like he’s not tired and as strong as some of the college kids which is nuts. In my opinion in the semi finals and finals he was losing and kept going at his insane pace and basically out worked his opponents. He seems to have no quit in him, and not a ton of weaknesses. This is very impressive, but I’m more impressed how bad he made these college kids look, literally out conditioning them.
Yeah his work rate is astounding. I’d be curious what he does for his conditioning.
@@popperpoppler4569 The rumor is he has 3 lungs!
That Gas Tank and being relentless, on top of being calm collected and just having fun. Good for him...
26:33 this was actually funny ash. Bro got pancaked twice back to back.
Bo is ridiculous, never stops going forward and has an amazing motor. Beating Vinny after being down big was pretty fun to watch.
That achievement is absolutely amazing. Kudos to Bo for his incredible talent and hard work he puts into the sport of wrestling.
That semis match was a thing of beauty. Good stuff man
He has that gift where is a step ahead, a thought ahead. More than that his fitness is clearly better than everyone he faced.
Bo and Blaze making their way to history at such an early age.
Snap…he put such a whoop on that first guy.
And that final was incredible. Great composure. So rare to see a match at that level get so turned around. Awesome.
Way to look bo.... keep up the grind, and never give up
This boy is the future of wrestling.
Bros a 17 yr old sopho 💀 but thats still crazy asf
What?
Nah he’s 18 now, clash of combat interviewed him and he was 17 his freshman year (or at least that’s what I remember off the top of my head)
I was wondering if he took a grayshirt year.. 😅
Birthday 08/25/06
I mean he lost a whole year of wrestling to Covid, all 4 years of high school wrestling are super important especially if he’s tryna be a 4x state champ
Incredible!
The first kid he beat is tk Davis from rockmart ga, state champ, number of accolades, took mizzou commit and super 32 finalist Jake crapps into double overtime. It’s been obvious to me (and everyone else) Bo is on another level but it really hit me different when I see him wrestle kids i know and that I know are good, and he goes out and dominates them
I just think wrestling is such an awesome sport I love watching wrestling, I think the young men are incredible athletes courageous brave individuals and I just wish more young men would participate and get involved I think it builds character and it definitely builds incredible physiques I just think it strengthens the individual all the way around
Congrats for Bo
Sophomore in high school he's going to be real damn good by the time he gets to college he's already pretty the amazing as he is nothing but skills only going to get better as he goes great wins bro keep it up man keep working hard
As a former PA wrestler, I love watching this journey. I wish we could do a super match against 16 yr old Bo and 16 yr old Kolat. That would have sold some tickets
Over bro. Can't go back. Sucks doesn't it
Sophomore year was the best 3 years of my life. Bo we're proud of you dude. Keep up the great work!!
Bo and Blaze!!!! Stay humble and tear the gym apart!!!!
Can't wait
He is amazing
Rumor has it immediately after his finals match, the young wrestler ran home 152 miles without stopping and without breaking a sweat. 😄
Bo knows cardio 👕
Start printing them.
the level of training that kids are getting these days at an early age is making the gap between high school and college a slim margin if not no difference. Kids are staring at age 3 and getting world class training from then on.
May have been mentioned already. The quarterfinal match's first period was 4 minutes long - from 10:35 to 14:35 timestamp. Probably seemed longer than that for Johnson. Let me know if I got that right. timer stuck on 1:11
That's not a stall call you see every day. Pitt kid backed all the way across the circle.
If Bo were in college now, I could see him placing as high as 4th (don't quite see him beating Nagao, but I could see wins over Orine and Latona, for examples).
Dam that's impressive for a high school sophomore!
He is unbelievable
Stay humble Bo. Don’t take the NIL contract too early and feel satisfied. Wrestle for that inner pride of southwest PA and young guns.
Bo Buzzsaw on his GRIZZLY!! Let's go, Champ!!👏👏👏
Thats wild
Its his gas tank. He never stops coming
That’s insane
my only issues with the new rules is a reversal not being 3 points. the amount of effort technique and precision to get a reversal is as impactful as a take down. until this is changed im going to be pretty salty
Bo also wrestled the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial, A D2 tournament and teched all five guys in the FIRST period. How does this happen? I wrestled in middle school and high school in the 90's and it was unheard of high school guys beating D1 guys. Nowadays, we have high school guys beating former D1 national or current national champs. I don't know how this is humanly possible.
He’s a 2 yr hold back, still great but wtf
he's 17 bro
@@dominicweingart7473 he’s 18 as a sophomore
They got kid-handled 😂.
They're ALL kids....just a few years apart, which happens even in kids open tournaments....there are ALWAYS phenomenal that show up. It's GOOD for wrestling,........
@@tasuda9786Bo is 18…..
How many times was he held back in school?
Bo is the age of allot of College freshmen.
Yes, he will do well the the College level.
There college freshman that just turned 17?
What a stupid cop out lmfao. No just turned 17. These college kids are all 19 if not about to turn 19, at the very minimum. A lot of them are probably older. Give credit when credits due.
He’s been held back a couple of times. I believe he is 18 or almost 18.
Word your looking for is Sandbagin
@@loganhancey1955held back? For wrestling that’s gross. Just wrestle
Vincent isn’t no slouch either that’s a big win
That kid is going down in history by the time he’s done
He already is
He’s going down in history as dusty buns from stranger things
I must say he’s impressive, but make no mistake, that is a man(he’s 18 as sophomore😅)
@magixup2775 he’s doing great work right now for sure but if it all stopped today it would a what if story. He’s got so much more he’s gonna do in his wrestling career that we ain’t even ready for. These kids now a days are raising the bar in a crazy way.
He’s 16
20:06 straight from defense to attack. Relentless. If your name is Bo and you wrestle...
That's good wrestling.
Bo is a monster
Damn, Imagine what he'll do to these guys in a few years
David got man handled
Wow
At issue with HS age individuals going against college age athletes is the physical maturity that a college age male will have over a HS age male. This maturity could easily result in a serious injury to the HS age athlete. There are always the rare exceptions but in general this may not be a great idea.
Since when did a take down go to three points?
It’s crazy to think that this kid is only a sophomore in high school
He's also old enough to vote 😆
I been gone that long? When did you get 3 points for a takedown I thought it was 2
Didn't Marcus Blaze also win? Thought he won over Ramos...
Yea but he lost in the finals. Bo won the whole thing hence (Full Run At Clarion Open)
@itzjerrry6328 Thanks for the update! Just finished watch the Basset video! Incredible tank, never tiring!
Want to see him vs cruz
To the lady that asked “Do you guys want a donut?“ (7:05) Why yes I’d love one, no sprinkles please. 😊
Somebody tell me why bo still pulls his singlet down on his legs😩
Pittsburg wrestling more conditioning. Saw a lot of their guys gas tanks run out
He has an Iowa style
Bassett is roughing this Davis up
I have not watched wrestling in 3 months... So when did takedowns become 3 points?
New rule for the upcoming college season
holy! bo bassett out here mauling grown men at 16. that first match was a Grade A ass whuppin
He’s 18 he’s supposed to be a senior😂😂
Great and all, but it’s not respectable that he’s cheating the system and reclassing to be a 17 year old sophomore and be 20(or 21 if he redshirts) so he has way more time to prep for college unlike everyone else.
Okay I’m Ngl that first kid from Gardner Webb looked solid af and bo made him look like 💩
All these kids are good. Bo is a generational talent.
Championship match you really saw the difference in strength. The guy from pit was way stronger as he is in college and bo still in highschool. Technique will beat strength any day
Bo is 18 years old as a sophomore he’s supposed to be a senior😂😂
They say he's a sophomore even though he's older than most of the seniors in high school
He’s 16 stop making excuses he’s just really skill
Was wondering.........how many old folks wrestle in opens? Because somewhere out there is a 45 year old badass who could win a Clarion open bracket I bet.. Now that would be worthy of discussion, .... And no one would get mad. Because 45 year old never gonna take opponents roster spot.
There Isn’t
That Pitt kid was a punk. He kept really close to the outer line to Bo had a hard time catching him.
That’s wrestling shut up
Hes really good but it helps that he is an 18 year old Sophomore
Do you guys want a donut 😂😂😂😂
😊
Is a takedown 3pts now? 🤷🏾
Why does bo cut so much? (From a new wrestler)
32:04 so SLICK
Did he hit a growth spurt ??? I thought he wrestled at 113 lbs ?
A lot of protein shakes he said
The kids been putting in that work. 5 am every single day
Machine gun wrestling
Since when is a takedown 3 points?
New this year for college.
I don't like it. Makes folkstyle more like freestyle. The beauty of folkstyle for MMA is learning how to control from top and escape from bottom. That and turns are less relevant now.
i think it makes it 10 times better@@richardowen3601
Not to mention screaming “Three” sounds horrible compared to the classic “TWOOOO!”
Not tk Davis
Looks like this kid doesn't care what credentials others have.
Hi Cardio reminds me of Aaron Pico.
he was bullying luh bro
Not at all he just turned 17 few months back...
Looks a bit unnatural. Ive never seen that pace for so long! He just wouldn't slow down for a second. Damn near over dose on energy drinks and caffeine pills maybe
Vin Santaniello had as much knowledge and enough talent to win, but did not match the intensity level.
these guys are all backups and likely the same or similar age as bassett. marcus blaze is more impressive with his win over matt ramos
wait... Bo is only a sophomore?!?
Nah he’s supposed to be a senior he’s 18
White boys fast. White Lightning!
Has he committed yet?
Pen state
He has not committed yet
@@BhavyaRama I’m an idiot I thought he was the one that beat Matt Ramos.
So he hasn’t committed then?
@@zekegaeta9169 No, but Penn State is pretty much a lock for him
@zekegaeta9169 No, Marcus Blaze beat Ramos. This is Bo Bassett. And he's only a sophomore, you can't verbally commit until you're a Jr.
If college athletes don't like being beat by HS kids, then DO Better
Isn't 17 a little old for a high school sophomore? Phenomenal tournament by him I'm just a little confused. Is that the new norm?
He’s actually 18 lololol😂😂 his birthday is 8/25/06
@@Thade800 wouldn't that make him 17 two months and some change?
@@shawnstorm9133now 17yrs 4 months and 20 days today 1-14-24. I'm not sure where people are getting the 18 from?
All then college kids butt hurt losing to a high schooler lol
Certified dog.
Say it with me, PRIVILEGE....
I have watched Bo and brother Keagen wrestle for Pa gold since young young kids both always studs props to Bo he is a beast
@DylanGrove MAryland
#YoungGuns
Always first to the center of the mat… mentally won as well
Hi @danaka
