Its such a special video. Especially the fact that the watch is a gift to a beautiful little daughter from her father. I love when he writes a note for her with that stunning JFK pen
Hey buddy - good to see you here Saad. Indeed - the JFK pen on Mont Blanc handmade paper - www.montblanc.com/en-gb/cards-envelopes_cod34480784411722491.html The fountain pen inspires me to write letters for my little girl. I'm going to drop letters to her from time to time and build her a nice collection of letters. That's meaningful and she will cherish this. Thanks for the support Saad.
Beautiful pocket watch Jamie . I love the story behind it and the lovely personal message to your daughter what a stunning gift ! . Iam also into pocket watches I have a couple of nice pieces but not as nice as yours . Thanks for this video mate keep up the good work . 👍
Good day Nick, What a wonderful world to have entered into - the world of pocket watches. This could be very interesting to see where we go over the coming months and years. Thanks for the nice positive feedback and support. It is greatly appreciated. Jamie
Oh definitely... i've a nice list of 12 items to film - i've been taking it slow and steady, giving thought to the content with a focus on quality rather than quantity. It is high on the list and I cannot wait to make it.
Ok that’s great. Just been looking to order one and there are so many colour options and styles for the globe. Would be great to see yours and how you decided
Thanks Fredrik - it came out nicely - i'm really pleased with it. The new macro lens does wonders for getting up close and being able to see what cannot even be seen to the naked eye. Cheers bro
@@jamieopulence It was very nice talking with you and Dis in the stream last friday. Lets do a stream with Dis this friday ? ua-cam.com/video/E4klYAKx26k/v-deo.html Take care 😀
Lovely watch!! The opening sequence made you sound like you were drunk! :) Lovely gift and one day it will be very much appreciated! I had one hell of a time getting past that timely pun ;) BTW Should have signed “Mum and Dad” :)
Thanks Richard - very constructive feedback. Appreciated. It did throw me off too, the bit where I put Dad and Mum - In which order to place it, but the gift was more to be recognized as coming from Dad.
@@jamieopulence jokes aside, keep up the great work! Perhaps more aspects of “opulence” … Mont Blanc pens, higher end scotch, that sort of stuff. In fact a great idea would be a “Under X dollar” Christmas list for him and her ….
You got it - that’s exactly the plan hence the word for opulence to represent a broad spectrum. I’ve got a nice healthy list of around 12 videos to film. The key for me to keep it fun and enjoyable is to do this at a healthy pace of one every 7 to 10 days. Whenever it feels fun, to pick up the camera. 🙏
Hey - it’s in excellent condition. Of course it has general wear and tear and what not but I suspect it has not been worn too often. No, not abandoned AC3 - having some days off - just bear in mind it is from 1am to 4am for me - which is quite disruptive for either my work day or weekend. So I’ve been watching the streams the following day.
@@jamieopulence I looked back at my text. I apologise if I came across rude. I can see why your so successful as an estate agent from your response. That is a lovely pocket watch, it must be all correct. The only thing is dial may be refinished, it is no bother as long as that was reflected in price. I could be wrong it may be original. I doubt you will be selling in auction. Your daughter will love and value it when she is older. Love your world time. I like your utube channel as well.
It’s all good. The crowd can be savage at times but you’re not on that track 😄 Right, the pocket watch is a purchase born out of actual love and emotions for it rather than a move of wanting to come in and go out. The underlying emotion is to bring it to a permanent home. What my daughter ends up doing is up to her - the romantic in me would like to think it would be kept. No doubt the original owner had the same idea of it being passed along… Thanks for the wonderful feedback. Very encouraging!
@@jamieopulence Your welcome. Do not let anyone on forums put you off with the dial or anything. In fact stay away from forums generally, some nice guys but lots of toxic ones also. Your not buying to sell in an auction for a million pounds. Your maintaining the history and meaning for the next generation. All good on Archie.
@@watchfan6180 right right, I also would suggest that I’m likely in the right side of the safety spectrum as I was extremely careful with whom I purchased it from. John Reardon of Collectibility is the man to go to when it comes to Patek Philippe and he has particular experience of all things vintage including pocket watches. I do believe he would not let any funky business pass via his hands.

Hey Jamie. Great video, I actually really like pocket watches and history so this is just amazing to see!
Oh Tommy - that is very interesting. It is a beautiful world to enter i think. Maybe another one is to come :)
brilliant piece. Great heirloom and story behind it.
Mightily determined to keep this pocket watch for the next 122 years

Another great video Jamie.
😀 Thank you so much for the support Tim
Great video, fantastic macro shots!
Thanks brother. The devil to the detail is in the macro lens. Makes so much difference. Cheers brother
Such a beautiful note especially as I've got a daughter myself I understand that ❤
You know that. A little girls dream is to have a note from her Daddy. When she grows up she will go on to cherish the notes I have written for her ❤️

How can a 122 year watch dial look that new? No doubt it is genuine, but it may be redialed or repainted. Have you abandoned the Pontif?
