@@Tutu-tt6np Now that I've seen a few videos I've kind of figure out that Christoffer is less comfortable speaking in English than Cecelia is. He's already a quiet guy, but with the language thing too, he's pretty darn quiet. But, he also seems to let Cecelia just express herself and do what she wants as long as he doesn't object too strongly. ;-)
Regarding filming trips, I'm not sure most people realize just HOW much work that is. You are always thinking of compositions, the flow of the story and the edit, what to say, how often to film, and all this stuff. All while traveling remote and needing to focus on all of the things necessary to keep your trip fun and safe. Especially when you set up all of the shots yourself, it's exhausting lol. Major props for how well you manage to do it.
I love your positivity towards your home. So many of us are "grass is greener" people and never experience contentment. Your mindset of, "you don't miss what you don't have" is true when you fill your time with the things you do have!
I must admit, the dynamic between Yourself and Christoffer is fantastic... He is the stable grounding force in the centre of your exciting, spontaneous, adventures creative world.... Literally your rock.
Two things, both about Christoffer: 1) He should look into recording audio books or narration for nature documentaries because his accent and voice are incredibly soothing. 2) Where is he from in Sweden because his accent is SO different than yours! 😅
OMG - If you watch Christoffer when Cecilia is talking, he looks at her with such loving eyes. He is just a calm, warm, loving andrelaxed human being. You two make such a beautiful couple.
I do enjoy Christopher’s contribution to your channel! He’s shy and reserved like me but he has wisdom and knowledge that I hope he understands that can contribute to your channel! More Christopher!

You guys are so sweet together. Perfect little family. Thanks for sharing some more Svalbard info, though I think you have chosen the perfect lives for yourselves!
Christoffer's pants look so cozy! The garbage answer was so interesting. I'll bet that, with the cost of food, and how it comes to you on the island, there is much less waste than with a typical mainland 'lifestyle'. And polar bears' sense of smell - wow!
Hi Cecilia and Christoffer. Totally love when Christoffer is in the video. He’s so chill and cool. He’s got swag without even realizing it. Kisses for Grim and Fenris! Love you guys
I can’t begin to tell you how much I love your videos…..they are so enjoyable, informative, entertaining, relaxing, comforting, beautiful, calming---thank you so much!
Well for someone who has owned dogs and cats over 40 years, I wouldnt suggest you get a puppy when Grim is older..because puppys are 100% full attention when they are young, and not all dogs will adjust very well to a new member if they have been the only one in the house all those years..Dogs and cats have feelings and they get very jealous...My advice is not to get a puppy until AFTER Grim Dies, because that will honestly affect Grim in not a good way..especially if he has always got all the attention..my one cat went downhill when I decided to get more cats in the house..and she was not happy at all...some breeds of cats and dogs will be ok, but not all..you always say the other dog that Lynn owns when he comes over , Grim isnt very happy...that is all you need to know, and a puppy is even worse since its younger...hope that helps.
I completely agree. Our dogs are 12 and 15 years old. When our kids come to visit, they bring their own dogs, one of which is a puppy. My older dogs can't handle the energy and constant annoyance of the young dogs.
I agree with the majority here. Older dogs are usually in some sort of pain, to have a puppy bombarding them, is only going to irritate the older dog, and add to their pain, and discomfort. Older dogs also, do not teach younger dogs how to behave. This is a very old misconception. Teaching your puppy, is the humans job.
Totally agree. That was my point in my comment. Older dogs will not tolerate younger puppies. I have had much experience in this dept with both cats and dogs
Love the Q&A's you guys do, Chris is so relaxed in front of the camera now, he is such an interesting man, the thought of a baby Grim🤎 the drone shot of the glacier is breathtaking, thank you for sharing your time with us xx💖💖💖

It’s awesome how in tune you guys are on Svalbard life. I’m looking forward to the boating videos this year - I missed the fishing last year as well, although the new boat videos were great.
💙❄💙 love your Q&As!! Great seeing Christopher! I think Grim would have a difficult time not being an only child.... just the vibe I get from his dynamic.
Ok, I was dying with his comment about how if folks missed the trees they could always go to the mainland and hug one. Live here in the Pacific Northwest USA and we have all kinds of trees and tree huggers here; send them this way. LOL
So about getting a pup when Grim is older, like 12. I have done the very same thing twice, but it had implications with my dogs, by the way I'd do it again without hesitation. You will find the pain of losing Grim will be very intense and having a pup, with all the demands a pup requires, helps to get over the loss of your treasured pet. But.... my first old dog had bad hips at the end and when I got my English Spring Spaniel pup he of course learned from the old dog. Because of my original dogs bad hips he couldn't raise his leg to pee like a male dog so he squatted like a female dog. My new pup copied that behaviour and even though he to was male, he pied like a female dog all his life. The second scenario is that pup I just talked about became an old dog and I again got a pup. And like my first Springer, my second Springer in old age developed hip problems. He couldn't jump up on sofas, and car seats, beds, etc. So instead he would go to the sofa or what have you and put his front paws on it to let us he know he wanted a lift up. And so the new pup copied that behaviour. So even now, with that new pup being 5 years old, he will sometimes put his front paws on the sofa or bed or what have you wanting us to lift him up even though the last thirty times he had jumped up. So the old passes on to the new, but not always what you think will be passed on.
I am also hesitant about getting a puppy when you have an older dog (and have had experience of this). Older dogs can have health issues, eg arthritis as noted above, and can be less tolerant (understandably) of a bouncy, energetic young dog. I am more a fan of getting a puppy when the older dog is not too old (eg now is probably a good time, when he is 7), so he/she can enjoy it.
How do you take care of your hair? It's so healthy, vibrant, and beautiful. You guys are awesome, I love how cool Christoffer is and the adorable Grim.

Thank you for sharing Svalbard and your town and home with us shut-ins around the world. I live in the middle of a pine forest and my niece has just begun raising a bull calf for her school project and now the young bull has a wild deer for a girlfriend. She sleeps at our back porch during the day just outside his pen. Fortunately our dogs have decided to ignore her. And last night I saw my first firefly in maybe 15 years. Global warming has caused drier seasons for years and they have been declining. When I was a child you could see galaxies of them swarming and flashing on meadows or on deep, grassy creek banks. It is so good to see one again. Maybe more soon.🤞
Hi Cecilia & Christopher! For the next Q&A: 1. How far away from your house is the Global Seed Vault? 2. Did you know there´s a live cam in Longyearbyen? It would be fun to record a salute from the street, like North Pole Expedition Museum door Love your videos, blessings from Costa Rica!
I know this is an older video, but may I offer this thought? An old dog who is slowing down and maybe has a bit of arthritis usually finds a puppy (with all their energy and no manners) intolerable. A big nuisance. Plus, training a puppy takes a lot of your time, of course, and maybe some time and energy you'd normally give to Grim. I think we need to think of these things when we bring a puppy into a house with an old dog. And, dogs don't care if another dog is his son, or brother or whatever. The only relationship that really seems to be honored is with a mother and her pups. You see how Grim is with Fenris! He doesn't care he's his brother! LOL In any case, Grim IS beautiful and sweet! It's clear to see why you love him so much! ❣
I would love to have heard the chefs thoughts on his favourite recipes but it was hard for him to get a word in 😂. Perhaps you could do another video. I’d LOVE some of your cod recipes or anything else he recommends.

Very interesting answers! And I have another question about living among polar bears: What does your house have on it to keep polar bears out? Are the windows and doors reinforced, etc.? (Sorry if you're tired of questions about the bears...I live in the states in the Midwest and the wildest thing we have around here are squirrels, haha).
i grew up in california, before moving to pennsylvania, and there were always stories about bears ripping out windows/doors to get into cabins around lake tahoe/yosemite region in the sierra nevada mountains. One bear managed to get into someones's garage and then chewed/clawed through the sheetrock to get in the house. Where i live near Pittsburgh, Pa, a young black bear wandered into a SEARS STORE___LOL
17:40 did anyone try to build a glass greeenhouse? (and put maggets in them and let them pupa? ) this would not work in the dark months but what u need is a high warmth enviroment so the insects can thrive in the closed environment.(preferably on a roof (away from the ground) with walls around to block the wind?) maybe an idea to try out i dont know....

So about getting a pup when Grim is older, like 12. I have done the very same thing twice, but it had implications with my dogs, by the way I'd do it again without hesitation.
