Your Parents reaction to your question, "Now do you see why I live here ?", is the same reaction I have seen in many other visiting my home in the interior of Alaska, USA. I have found that people react in a vary polarized way, in that they either love Alaska and all that it has to offer or they can't wait to get back on the plane and get out of here. Few people staddle the fence on extreme climates such as that that we both share.
I love how Grim is the best at living in the Arctic. He knows exactly how to handle the snow and doesn't need special clothes. Now if only he could chase some reindeer!

As portuguese, that is living in the sunny city of Lisbon, I can imagine, and understand your father's answer. You movies are delightful , and I do not miss almost any one. But let me tell you one thing: nothing compares with a sunset and warm evening, even in mid January, looking to the sea, and driking a Gin tonic in the terrace... in Algarve, or Cascais... ;) And I lived also in Sweden a couple of years!!!
I love watching Cecilia's videos because they're so well made and they're so different from the way I live and my family culture. Her videos have the same quality as Northern Heart (also Swedish), which I loved before she stopped posting. One of those cultural differences I noticed in this video is that her parents stayed at a hotel. I'm Canadian but of Asian descent. A typical Asian family would never allow family to stay in a hotel if they can accommodate them in their own home. I've visited many places where second, third or even fourth cousins would insist on us staying with them while visiting their city. It's like a permanent and free AirBnb in every city with a built-in tour guide. I love it but it's never as peaceful as Cecilia's life.
Your parents are such good sports! This is such a drastic change from their life in Portugal. It is so great that they came for a visit and went on all your planned adventures. You have a lovely family. 😊

I think Svalbard must be one of the most beautiful places in the world. Someone I once knew said the following, "Blue and white are colors of healing." I think of those words with every winter video you have shared.
Oh how I envy the life you’ve created. I’m such a winter lover and could have it 12 months a year. I love nighttime and the peacefulness of the dark, the coziness and serenity that comes with it. So nice seeing parents visiting and the fun activities. Greetings from central New York
I think that it's fun and really amazing that people who aren't used to the cold would think it was extremely dangerous to be miles from nowhere at -15 degrees on a snowmobile and locals are like wow, it's a fun spot! Peoples' adaptability is really something else.
Not sure if this has been asked or not, but are you ever worried that viewers are going to come knocking on your door if they come to visit Svalbard? I doubt it would ever happen, but with the following you have and the insanely interesting content, I'm sure people have booked a few trips out there lol.
I follow another guy, Martjin Doolard, who is renovating two houses in the Italian alps in the middle of nowhere. About the third episode I watched he walked out to find a bottle of wine and a card leaning against his wall.
I’m interested what “technical snowmobile driving” is. Perhaps with snowmobiling in the light season is fast approaching you could do an episode based around snowmobiling, the actual machines, the way you drive them and the kit you need.

Oh how I envy the life you’ve created. I’m such a winter lover and could have it 12 months a year. I love nighttime and the peacefulness of the dark, the coziness and serenity that comes with it. So nice seeing parents visiting and the fun activities. Greetings from central New York
I think that it's fun and really amazing that people who aren't used to the cold would think it was extremely dangerous to be miles from nowhere at -15 degrees on a snowmobile and locals are like wow, it's a fun spot! Peoples' adaptability is really something else.
Not sure if this has been asked or not, but are you ever worried that viewers are going to come knocking on your door if they come to visit Svalbard? I doubt it would ever happen, but with the following you have and the insanely interesting content, I'm sure people have booked a few trips out there lol.
I follow another guy, Martjin Doolard, who is renovating two houses in the Italian alps in the middle of nowhere. About the third episode I watched he walked out to find a bottle of wine and a card leaning against his wall.
I’m interested what “technical snowmobile driving” is. Perhaps with snowmobiling in the light season is fast approaching you could do an episode based around snowmobiling, the actual machines, the way you drive them and the kit you need.
